I have seen suggestions that you try and arrive 15 minutes before your class but not the 5 minute rule. I can't control the traffic and the street repair in my neighborhood caused me to wait for my lane of traffic to move. but one minute!? I looked online for a way to reach out to the management but could find no links. I am very unhappy to lose my $30+ for a one minute error. I hope they see this and contact me. The studio is tucked away in a hall right around the corner from the Pub but not all the way to the front sidewalk. Look for the sign as soon as you turn the corner. It is a perfect size studio - very clean and fresh - with lots of natural light and high ceilings. Owner/instructor Rosalie is a delight, warm and friendly and I soon found out, really knows her stuff. I was immediately comfortable. As soon as class began, I was impressed with her cueing and spot-on adjustments. I recalled from my early days taking Pilates how deceptively challenging mat Pilates can be as I struggled in a good way to hold poses with proper alignment. This is classic mat Pilates led by a highly qualified Instructor in a convenient and sweet location. My dream come true! the next day soreness confirmed that the work got me in all the right places - Abs, arms, thighs, butt. I found To The Beat while searching MINDBODY for Pilates near Avondale/Decatur. I was looking for an alternative to reformer classes (expense exceeds benefit), "megaformer" Pilates (reformer on steroids--good value & workout but very hard/potentially risky for shoulders, neck), and yoga. I am a Decades-long Atlanta fitness community adventurer. You name it, I have probably tried it. I know what is good & effective and what's just okay. I run & do strength training with a personal trainer, yoga, and TTB is now my core-focus workout. Try it out!

Even with 6 or 7 students in the studio using 3 or 4 different pieces of equipment, they coach with succinct clarity to each individuals needs. Their knowledge and ability is impressive and you see the results in students bodies over time. For me, life changing! I started at this studio after a year at one in Chamblee (who were great instructors but constantly talked politics). I was preparing for spine surgery and safe strength training was in needed. My (fusion) surgery was November if 2022 and I was back at Pilates by January (which my surgeon approved over regular PT after reading the instructor bios) and in the weight room by May. I'm stronger and leaner at 60 than I was at 35. On top of the amazing results is I always feel fantastic after an hour at Align Movement and Design.
