We had an emergency plumbing repair when an indestructible stainless steel cup used by our toddler made its way into our garbage disposal on the night prior to July 4th. Somehow it was both the perfect size and strength to get exactly jammed in the garbage dispoal. With family and friends coming over and a lot of activity in the kitchen, this was a big problem. We called around to multiple plumbers and found Stefano recommended by another family with a garbage disposal issue. He was one of few plumbers who got back to us promptly and who did not charge an extreme "out of hours" markup for coming out on a holiday. When he tackled the blockage, he ended up disassembling the garbage disposal but was able to both remove the cup and replace a gasket that had gotten damaged in the process of me trying to unjam the disposal. Not only that, Stefano was upbeat and did a great job of entertaining our 2 year old who was watching on with wide eyes. He is always on time, takes the time to evaluate what is happening, explains clearly what is happening and what he will do, takes action to make the repair, double checks to make sure if is correct, and takes the time to even write up a paper invoice to give me on the spot. He helped me fix a second floor hot water copper pipe leak, set up an natural gas line for my outdoor bbq, snaked a clogged kitchen drain line 50 feet, and creatively solved a large chip at the end of my cleanout drain. April 2020 Post-Covid Update Stefano continues to impress! Our Garbage Disposal unit came detached from the sink and caused a huge mess. I called Stefano in a panic at 7pm and he called me minutes later and was out the next morning bright and early. He fixed the problem so it was as good as new. I had to replace the faucet assembly on my kitchen sink. I thought I would be able to do this myself, but I couldn't. After checking on Nextdoor, then on Yelp. I contacted Stefano to do the job. Stefano came on New Year's Day to do the job--he said it was very hard to remove the old faucet assembly. Of course, he had tools and know-how that I do not have! This review is for responsiveness only, which was stellar. I did not use Stefano's, because they do not service the location I needed. However, less than 30 minutes after I left a voice-mail message asking if they did work at my job site, I received a text letting me know that it was out of area. That's the professional and courteous thing to do, but it's shocking how many plumbers don't return calls. Our master bathroom toilet began to drain slowly on Monday, President's Day. I tried the plunger numerous times with no success in clearing the blockage. I then tried a cable drain cleaner and then an auger. No success. I called Stefano's plumbing based upon Yelp reviews late that morning. Dominic returned the call promptly and said that he would be at our home between 2 and 4 PM that afternoon. He arrived at 3:30. He took his auger, which was larger than mine, and quickly removed the blockage with his proper technique. We had some clogging in the main pipe under the house. I checked the side yard clean out and it was dry indicating the clog was under the house. I called the guys that installed our sewer main 2 years ago and they recommended Stefano's. Stefano's is a one man operation and unclogging pipe clogs is his "bread and butter" work. Anyway, I called him around 7:45 PM, thinking he wouldn't be out until the next day, and he said he would come right out. He arrived around 8:05 PM and was done by 8:30 PM. This is the second time I have used Stefano. I have been impressed by his work and responsiveness. The first time he ended up needing a part so he made a quick run to the plumbing supply store, returned and installed it in less than an hour. It turned out that the expensive part was under warranty, but he had to buy it, order another one and then return it to the store for the credit. It took over 2 months for the part to arrive and he did not charge us for the part which meant that Stefano carried the cost for 2 months. Stefano was equally responsive and successfully fixed a different problem the second visit. He is definitely our "go-to" plumber! Amazing service. Quick response and very reasonable timing for the repair (next day, I didn't have an emergency). He even came late in the day to adjust to my schedule. He and his apprentice John worked hard identifying the problem and tried EVERYTHING to save me money on the repair. I really appreciated his dedication to doing a thorough exploration rather than just jumping to an expensive conclusion. They also ran to the store and got the parts they needed while they were working so I didn't have to wait another few days. Stefano deserves his 5 star ratings and more! Based on recommendations from neighbors on NextDoor, I called him last night when I found a slow leak in the crawl space under our house. He arrived promptly at 8am the next morning to fix it. When he finished, he even mopped up the dirty standing water and disinfected the area before leaving. He is efficient, honest, competent and reasonably priced. On top go that, he was kind enough to tighten the connections on the loose pipes under my kitchen sink without charging extra. We have had Stefano to our home to deal with clogged toilets and backed up drains etc. Most recently I called him to look at our master shower which had 2 shower heads. One shower head never had but a trickle of water pressure and the other has barely had enough pressure to rinse my hair. We have been dealing with it for a while but decided to consult with Stefano. I was told I would need to have a hole cut in my shower to replace the head. Stefano came by with a special tool and had it working in minutes. Very reasonable prices, I had him do many plumbing tasks I'd put off, kitchen sink/disposal, all new shower heads, faucets and toilet. All the work impeccable!
