The sea salt rosemary fries were a favorite for my kids. The staff were also friendly and helpful. We were able to get a table inside but the seating is limited due to COVID-19. With over 40 beers and ciders on tap, plenty of tables, quick and good food service, and friendly staff, we had no reason not to go back the next day. The poutine was mostly just gravy, used to it having a decent amount of cheese, so it just wasn't great. The Bad - people stand and sample beers trying to decide which to order meaning it could be a while before you get to the head of the line. The Good - the brisket sliders were moist, hot and juicy. I'm glad they are open. The place is actually busy considering the COVID crisis. But I was not impressed with the food. We ordered hotdog, Lamb gyro, tuna salad, fish and chips, and prime rib sandwich. The fish & chips was great. But we couldn't eat the rest. If I could give this restaurant negative stars, I would. 2 weeks ago, I left my sunglasses at the restaurant at 10 PM and I was the last one to leave the restaurant. The day after, I was there and asked for it, they said, they will check and wrote down my name and number. I asked them to check their security cameras in case. They said they will check and surely call back. 2 days passed and I got no call. I call again and again (5 times) and to my surprise same story, no call. They just do not bother to do anything. We rolled into town late and stumbled across Stein. We were in awe of their on tap selection. The staff was so friendly and service was quick. We ordered the brisket sliders and rosemary fries. Menu was simple yet with plenty of choices. Highly recommend! My only suggestion would be to have a separate counter or station to sample beers. I'm sad to be giving them one star because the wait staff was GREAT. Unfortunately, a blonde hostess yelled at my friend for saying a swear word while seated in the bar area upstairs. She stormed over to our table and rudely snapped that she needed to watch her mouth as there were kids around. I've never experienced so much uncalled-for hostility. First off, we're in a bar, so there's no one under 21 around (so the "there's kids around" comment seemed odd). Second, the next table over was much louder and swearing nonstop and she didn't say anything to them probably because it was a table full of men. The situation was completely mishandled and our dinner was ruined because of it, so I doubt we'll return. We started with fried Mac and cheese which was extra creamy and delicious. We ordered chicken tenders for the kids and it was fresh chicken very well seasoned and breaded. Try the brisket sliders, we ordered the hummus and it's a different taste because you can taste the artichokes but it won't disappoint. He prefers a very dark beer and very hard to please. But their darkest beer was among the best he's tasted. Please don't ask me the name, I don't like beer. And...get this...they have legit vegan options for my husband. It's often difficult for us to find a restaurant we can both enjoy and the Stein suited us both. They have a wide selection of beers, ciders, and more but you only get two tastings per person which didn't help narrow down the choices. The female bartenders who were helping us were super rude and unwilling to help and answer questions my friends had about their selection of beers. They rushed us along even though there was no one else waiting to order. Their food looked amazing and the staff who served the food and bussed our table were super nice and friendly. If you are only going to give two tastings per person when you have a menu of more than 50 choices to pick from maybe more knowledgeable and friendly bartenders would be beneficial. read more
