This place was just okay. It reminded me of a dive bar for 21 year olds. There was a group of guys sitting at the bar loudly talking about whether or not they were circumcised and whether or not that was racist. On the other part of the bar was a group of people playing pull tabs. I tried to order a mannys and a dry cider but they only had sweet cider so I ordered a mannys and coors light instead. The bartender was friendly, so there's that. This place gets 3 stars for being open later and having a friendly bartender. It loses two for the other issues. We went outside and everyone was smoking. We went here to watch a football game and they had it on a projector with sound and that was nice. Unfortunately, I didn't get her name, but we got excellent service from her. We made sure to close our tab so that our tip will go to her before she left. She answered all our questions and if she wasn't sure, she made sure to get the answer elsewhere for us. There was a football game that didn't start for another hour so we asked if we could play pool. She let us know that the projector would need to be put up but said to play pool anyways and she'll see what night staff would do. So we did. We were finishing up our last game and went back to our seats. My bf asked the new servers if they could play the sound of the game and he just flat out said "no". I then asked a different server if we could pull down the projector like it was earlier with the sound, and he looked at me straight in the eye and said "no" and walked away. There was no conversation. I would have appreciated it if we were given a reason as why it wasn't possible when they were doing it the entire day. After our original server left, we were not checked on at least once. The only time we got their attention was when we had to waive them down and asked for a beer. When we finished that, we left it on the table to see if they would notice. I started a timer too. The bartender or server was playing poker too which I didn't understand considering it was pretty busy. My bf who plays poker noticed one of the dealers wasn't dealing top card during the game so be cautious playing the card game here. We walked in for a quick bite for dinner. The bartender instantly greeted us and we got a local joint kinda of feel. Service and vibe are 4-5 stars. Pool tables, shuffle board, juke box and darts. We ordered a basket of fries and chili salad combo. The salad was fresh and the fries were good. I could have skipped on the chili. Didn't even get a chance to experience them. I stopped in the day before inquiring about the Seahawks game. Was told to arrive no later than 45 mins before the kickoff and we will definitely get a seat. Arrived the next day 70 mins before coverage started, and every table was being saved. 1-2 people at a 4,6,8 top said no, saving table. Asked a wait staff and they said sorry, should have gotten here sooner. Asked if we could stand or bring seats in from outside, and the staff person said no and we should leave because we were taking up space for thier customers. read more

For a restaurant that happened to be the only place open as late as we were looking for food, this place was surprisingly good! We don't drink, but the NA beers were good. We showed up with a family of 4; two adults and 2 kids (age 10). We stopped by originally due to being interested in several menu items that seemed reasonably priced compared to other places, as well as being kid friendly. We sat down and waited for a server. Within 20 minutes we had 3 employees go past our table, even making eye contact with us, not saying a word, and only paying attention to the other tables next to us. We began to wonder if we ordered at the bar instead of at our table. Within a few more minutes, the table next to us had their food order taken at their table, again the server looked at us and walked away. We were pretty hungry and wanted to feed the kids so we got up and left to look for another place to eat that would actually provide decent service. As an experienced bar tender and server myself, this was by far the worst customer service i have ever seen or experienced. Welcome to kiddie land (or at least it felt like it)! All was well when we entered the BAR/LOUNGE. Bar with bar stools, behind the bar many bottles of hard liquor as you would expect and some Washington lotto pull tabs. Several high top tables, a few big screen TVs in this sports bar that looked like they maybe had football on and even though Ducks and Drakes classify themselves as a Sports BAR, the only sports I saw and loudly heard were chase each other around the room. The adult watching these children said he was unable to do anything because one of them was "only a year and a half old". They continued to run in and out of the building, why the parents didn't just let the children play outside is unknown and really quite strange as several customers left to eat their meal outside, one of them rolling her eyes at me in utter disbelief at these children. The staff did NOTHING to make things better but I suspect they didn't have a choice as one of the much older men sitting with the party associated with these children walked into a back area like he was known by the staff. Soon after he walked up to me, puffed up his chest and said "I hope you have a good night". I said "Thank you". "He huffed "aren't you going to reply", "I repeated Thank you". I've been to Ducks and Drakes in the past for lunch and watching a couple of games. It's definitely got that dive bar/sports bar feel, and you can tell that lots of locals go here. I can't remember too much about the food to speak to it, so you'll have to go find out for yourself. That said - the drinks are reasonably priced and they have a full bar, so that's a score. I was here last month and stopped in on a Saturday night... If you're looking for the Leavenworth club scene, it's here. There was a DJ spinning 90s and 2000s hits, and plenty of people on the dance floor. Topped off with a sweaty atmosphere and several security guards, I truly would've never guessed right outside the doors was the quaint town of Leavenworth. They have pool and dart boards as well, as well as late night takeout. The bar line gets long and slow, so be prepared - that said, the staff is super nice and does their best to get to everyone quickly. We were looking for a restaurant in Leavenworth that was family and dog friendly and found Ducks and Drakes. We originally planned on eating on the patio but it was very windy the day we went. We were unsure what we would do with our small dogs we had with us but the employees told us it was fine to bring them indoors as long as they were well behaved. The food took a little long to get to us but we ordered 2 orders of nachos that are huge and I think they take a little longer to make. Somehow every night in Leavenworth ends up at Ducks. That is probably because they are open super late and have a DJ keeping the party going until goodness knows when. I have not ever made it until closing so I can't say for certain when that is! That being said the bar section is almost always full but orders are up quickly. This is the best place we went to in Leavenworth. Sports Bar with multiple TV's and every game you can imagine from darts to shuffleboard. It's a little off the beaten path so a little tricky to find. Food is outstanding as well and priced as comparably to any other Leavenworth bar so no worries there. This is VERY much a local bar, where everyone knows each other, but still welcoming. We had our dog with us, so we remained on the patio. The security guard was so friendly, brought a treat out for the dog, and chatted with us... It's some great people watching since there's a few stairs to go down to get to the bar the quesadilla was DELICIOUS and while the jalapeño poppers and chicken fingers/fries were good too, the quesadilla was the BEST. Ducks and Drakes is somewhat tucked away, a block away from where the main action is and down a flight of stairs. They made up for their somewhat remote location by their warm and accommodating customer service and not just that, by their well made and tasty food. I had the brisket dip and fries. The sandwich was delicious, generously filled with moist and succulent brisket, and dip so good, I asked for a second helping. I only took a star away because although they had outside seating. This place is a must go to grab a drink, watch a game, and eat stop. The boyfriend and I are here for the Christmas lighting and our driver, Taylor, a local, from Leavenworth shuttle &Taxi, recommended this place. I asked Chris one of the owners, what holiday drink to order with Whiskey. He made the Apple Cup for me and it was exactly what I wanted. Not too sweet or strong. I usually order beer, wine, or whiskey on the rocks...this was the perfect festive drink. We watched the Seahwaks game her and ordered the pretzal and fish and chips. The pretzal was soft, warm, and delicious! Coming from Seattle, I live fish and chips. Theirs was perfect. They had a flaky halibut and the battery was light, crispy, and crunchy. SO GOOD! The breaded cover had a blue moon beer batter that was a perfect pair for the fish. It didn't come off but enhanced the halibut. I love hole in the wall type places and was so disappointed when I walked in. My first instinct was to ask for a to go menu, just to be nice. Reluctantly my family and I ordered. We watched in horror as the food went one by one into the microwave. Waitress let the "microwaved dinners" sit for ten minutes while she chopped it up with the locals. Finally I walked over to the food and thanked the cook for his time. He apologized that I had to get my own plates. Our food was so horrific that I debated calling the cops, the news or just refusing to pay but at that point I just really wanted to go home and make a sandwich. I do not recommend anyone go here for the food, unless they plan on drinking so much that they don't care if the food is horrifying.
