They also have a full bar, and the prices were very reasonable. The servers were very friendly and efficient, which made the experience even better. Only minor issue was the smoke detector that continued to beep inside indicating the battery needed to be changed. We actually returned a few days later, and the beeping continued. It was kind of annoying. Other than that Rancho Viejo was excellent.

The beer I ordered was Azul-Blonde ale , refreshing and warmed quickly. My guy had an IPA- Baby, he said it was citrusy but not too bitter for an IPA, not as strong as a 6%, more of a 4.5. Once the table was cleaned properly we then order drinks that arrived about 10 minutes later and we placed our dinner order. 1.5 hours later we still had not seen out waiter so we tracked him down and asked about our food . We were told it was coming up and would be out in 5 minutes. 25 minutes later still no food . We asked for our bar tab and told the hostess we were leaving , we did this several times and then the waiter showed up part of our order. The food was cold to touch and the sauces had congealed. We again refused the order and asked for our bill. After 5 minutes I went to the bar to ask what we owed and the waiter presented a bill that was not ours . I questioned the bartender and he agreed that was not what our tab. The owner was at the bar had an unapologetic attitude towards our negative experience. We spent over 2 hours here and truly felt ignored . It was not a positive experience and we will not be returning. On a side note the large party of 20+ people that arrived an hour after we order where enjoying there meal and 5 star service that we felt we also deserved.

I also selected the gaonera, suadero, and chicharron ribeye tacos. All had great "over the coals" flavor tucked into fresh, soft tortillas. Make sure to save room for dessert. They make as many of their syrups and bitters as they can, so the cocktails are fresh and flavorful. They have a great classic cocktail menu for you to look at, but they have some specialty drinks as well. The bartender was making their jamaica (hibiscus) concentrate when we were there. I asked what he made with that, and a mezcal jamaicita was what he said. Of course had to try it! It was maybe a little sweet for me, but still tasty and unique. We haven't tried the food, but love the vibe and of course the dog that wants all the attention. If you are looking for good cocktails, definitely make this a stop!
