Steiny's is a dive bar in a cute area on Staten Island. It's literally a 5 minute walk from the ferry. The natives are uber friendly & my first time there I got a drink on Neil. He's a regular at the watering hole. It's on a slight hill, but nothing tedious. Quaint with seating at the bar & table top lined with mirrors on the side, as well as old school circular seating in the front. The bartender is friendly & drinks are dive, but you really can't go wrong with alcohol. Rather you're having a beer or simple mixed drink you're good. I like this place & will most definitely visit again. If you're looking for uncomplicated & laid back, come thru. It's all community at this spot & I love it!

This was the perfect place to go after our ferry ride to Staten Island. Super friendly staff and were very accommodating to our group and friend with sever peanut allergy(picture attached has white bread instead of a sesame bun). Food tasted amazing, by far the best French toast I have ever had.

Went here recently on a Friday night to pre-game before a show at the St.George theater next door. I really liked this place...cool dive atmosphere with a great internet jukebox. It was crowded but we still got seats at the bar. Ordered pierogis and mozzarella sticks both were good and pretty cheap. Drink prices were cheap. The owner was there and thanked us for coming which was a really cool touch I liked. The bartenders even bought back with the owner there which means Steinys knows how to run a real bar. Walking distance (one block) from ferry Apparently the women's restroom was gorgeous. The men's restroom.....not so much lol

Took the Staten Island ferry to Staten Island to pass by the Statue of Liberty. We decided to stay for lunch. This was a hard one. Not a lot of good options close enough to walk to the ferry station. I came across them because of yelp. No regrets. The place is small. It is a bar. They have a small but effective menu. I had a few kids with me and worried about taking them in - but it was excellent. The staff was so friendly. The food was decent. I had the onion soup and it was quite good. They have one table by the window that can seat more than 2 otherwise it's couples only (or sit at the bar). I like this place. So friendly.

A CLASSIC cool divey bar when you're waiting for the ferry. Hope Laura is there when u visit, and the same rockabilly is on the jukebox.

Paid a visit to Staten Island by ferry just before new year and found this bar and stopped for a few beers. Loved it, cheap beer, friendly and very welcoming, nice food and the woman behind the bar was fab. Definitely pay another visit next time i'm there. read more

I've been to Steiny's twice and had a good experience each time. My friend got a burger deluxe that he was very happy with on our first visit. If you want pizza they allow you to get it from Giuseppe's next door, which is pretty good. The service was fine and there is a nice atmosphere.Prices are reasonable. read more

Amazing amazing amazing ! Only a short walk from the ferry stop. Check out the specials board for incred options. We got the guinness burger. Drewl worthy! A true American feed. AND the barmaid is a doll. She basically gave us the best recommendation for buffalo wings and where to go on the rest of our Staten Island adventure. P.s. Try the flagship beer. It's a Staten Island native and absolutely perfect with a burger ! read more

Stopped by here for quick cheap lunch as the options in the area are quite limited, and was not impressed. The bar food have no flavor and nothing special. The bartender was nice but didn't really focus on the tables as opposed to her bar guests. The seating is very uncomfortable as they are high stools and everything in the bar looked like it need a make over. Most likely a locals spot but surprised since I saw ads everywhere to try this bar out... read more

Not impressed at all. The place was pretty packed when we came in and there was only one lady serving the whole restaurant as well as bar tending so the service was slow. Not a very large beer selection for a pub and they only had one local beer. My boyfriend's wings were under cooked as well as the guy's sitting next to us. My Reuben was pretty boring and the potato salad had no seasoning. Just a very basic bar experience and they're cash only so that's a little inconvenient. read more

What an amazing place! It was a crowded Saturday night when we went. As soon as I approached the bar, a very nice man stood up and insisted I take his seat. The staff was very personable and the service was great. The owner even came over and spent time with us and bought us a drink. The crowd was very friendly, and the atmosphere was perfect for a neighborhood bar. I would recommend this place to anyone breezing through Staten Island, especially if you are taking the ferry, because you can throw a stone to this hidden gem. Stop in here. read more

Don't bother going to this place unless you're a regular. My boyfriend and I walked in, sat at a bar table, and were completely ignored. The ONE girl working (let's call her the bartender/waitress/busgirl) walked past us several times without saying anything. After 20 minutes, he finally went to the bar to see if we could get a menu and a drink that way. The ONE girl working couldn't even be bothered to make eye contact. Yet when one of the regulars approached the bar, he was served immediately. There was a total negative vibe here from the one worker and the regulars. We never even got a chance to eat or drink because we walked out after my boyfriend got ignored standing at the bar for 10 more minutes. read more

I'm glad I ventured into this small neighborhood bar. It has a mixed crowd, reasonable prices , great drinks and great service . The bartender , Steve , made it feel like home . Kitchy art adorns the walls and the music is a mix of playlist rotations and classic radio tunes. I'm definitely making this my new go to spot ! read more

Being true tourist we had to take the ferry from the city. We decided to walk around a while and stumbled on this small pub on our way. The staff were incredibly friendly and made us feel welcome from the second we we walked in. Couldn't have had a better first pub experience! Everyone should leave the ferry station and walk the town and stop by. read more

came in as tourists of NYC, and we were in the mood for a burger. Best decision we made all day. The waitress was wonderful, the food was exquisite, this may have been one of the best restaurants I've been to while in NYC. A+++!!!! I got the Black and Blue burger and it was tremendous. read more

Best kept secret is Sunday BBQ.. Amazing homemade pulled pork and Mac and Cheese.. Well worth the trip. No place on Staten Island serves such delicious, authentic BBQ.. Also try the homemade fresh Maryland Crab Cakes with chipotle aioli.. you would never expect such gourmet food from a neighborhood bar and grill! read more

my wife and i stopped at steinys on saturday after noon.... we ordered crab cakes .. chips ... poppers ... and a pastrami and corned beef club.. we were so impressed with the food and service... this is real pub food.... and we loved it .. the cook km nows how the o set up a plate... stop there you will love it.. read more

Fun hole in the wall bar/pub. I got the bacon cheeseburger (bacon was incredible). Girlfriend got (delicious) French onion soup and a decent chicken quesadilla. Really nice Staten Island sample for someone coming from out of town. Nice place for a quick bite with decent beer selection and vast liquor selection. read more

we stopped into steinys on saturday, drinks were great especially the bloody mary . ordered pastrami club , corned beef reuben, and a new item called a stuffed burger.... the cook really seems to be innovative . the corned beef was incredible, and the burger was so tasty and cooked perfect. .... i stopped here about a year ago and hated it.. what ever they changed it sure seems it is working... i never recommend places but due to the great food and service id happily recommend steinys to anyone who wants great sandwiches , soup and burgers. at a good price... read more

The roast beef was perfectly cooked and the gravy was rich and deliciously beefy, but the extra Au jus was a bit pricy for how little it was, where it came in the same small plastic sauce container instead of a small bowl/ceramic. I'm sure this doesn't happen often that half the sandwich ingredients were left out, so I guess we were just unlucky we didn't realize sooner, but it nonetheless detracted from our experience and we were charged the full price for the meal. Overall The Point Tavern has a lot of potential of being amazing and serve probably the best roast beef in all of Staten Island; I really wish them the best with their varied roast beef selections! The building was previously The Century Inn and is one of the oldest continuously operated restaurants in New York City. We were here on a Thursday night at around 6pm. It was empty. I think while we were there, maybe two other tables were occupied. There were a couple of patrons at the bar so it was relatively quiet. The food was ok, nothing special. I had the chicken cutlet Schnitzel which came with mashed potatoes and mixed vegetables. It was pretty bland overall. The vegetables may have come out of a can, not sure though. My cousins ordered the wurst sampler and he said it was fine. Again, the food was okay and not as good or hearty like I remembered it being. I know the spring and summer season are coming and the beer garden will be open soon. Our waitress, Jessica, went above and beyond to ensure we had a wonderful first dining experience at The LocaL, where she addressed our minor concerns and socialized with us in a welcomed and extremely friendly manner; Jessica is reflective of what exemplary service looks like and she definitely helped enhance our overall dining experience! Now onto the food: the is by far one of the most affordable restaurants I've been to in Staten Island, where the portion and quality for the price is definitely worth it. The French onion soup and Picasso burger were both phenomenal and I can't recommend it enough! The zucchini fries were humongous for the price (as you can see in the photo) and totally filling! A minor issue we encountered were that the price from the menu mismatched the price on our receipt, a few days were either a dollar or two less or a dollar or two more, so check your bill! Will definitely come back to try their extensive menu for I'm sure there are still so much more deliciousness to be discovered here! When it was Danny O's it was a dive bar full of nearly homeless, hookers, and cokeheads. Now that it's been cleaned up, it's a dive bar full of nearly homeless, hookers, and cokeheads. And their "star" bartender (a guy) beat up a female patron (also a bartender there) last week, but wasn't fired. I was there a month ago and the service was lousy, the patrons downright mean and after hearing about last week I am recommending that nobody go there. read more

This place broke the law when quarantine was in place by opening up and allowing multiple customers to drink late at night unmasked. The bar is a super-spreader event. It's also come to the attention of the community that the owners and bartenders are white supremacists. The best thing for the community is for this place to be shut down so that domestic terrorism doesn't have a home base in this neighborhood. read more
