We ordered the Forest Ave roast beef sandwich and the fried shrimp appetizer with bang bang sauce. The shrimp had a nice crunch, and the bang bang sauce was good, but its flavor was a bit mild and plain; some garnish like chives can definitely elevate this appetizer further! Our sandwich unfortunately came without the bacon jam and maple bourbon, which meant it was just roast beef double dunked with Gruyère cheese. Unfortunately we didn't realize it until near the end, and although our waitress apologized and brought us a side of the bacon jam, by then we only had a quarter of it left which was a bummer. The roast beef was perfectly cooked and the gravy was rich and deliciously beefy, but the extra Au jus was a bit pricy for how little it was, where it came in the same small plastic sauce container instead of a small bowl/ceramic. I'm sure this doesn't happen often that half the sandwich ingredients were left out, so I guess we were just unlucky we didn't realize sooner, but it nonetheless detracted from our experience and we were charged the full price for the meal. Overall The Point Tavern has a lot of potential of being amazing and serve probably the best roast beef in all of Staten Island; I really wish them the best with their varied roast beef selections! Please give them a try and just check your sandwich before digging into it! Thank you for reading and best of luck! (:

What's the secret at the Point Tavern in Staten Island? They keep things simple! This review is based on my visit this past Saturday Evening - 21 June 2025. Bartender Mike is a true Mensch, if that's even possible, in a place like Staten Island, but he was truly a gem and kept the drinks flowing. This is truly a neighborhood watering hole that is frequented by many, including some friendly and beautiful teachers from the local school across the way. You are struck with an immediate vibe of friendliness and happiness, and visitors to the Point Tavern are truly treated like family. My great friend, "Uncle Anthony," and I enjoyed ourselves sitting and relaxing at the bar. There was a wide selection of draft beers on tap, and the mixed drinks were delicious. Confession: I made the "Shlep" to investigate this "Suspicious" Roast Beef Sandwich. My suspicions were confirmed--amazing, Juicy, Tender, and savory. Sandwiches are made to order and tailored to the customer's likely preferences. The kitchen got it right on the first shot and got me my "Kosher" Roast Beef Sandwich. Trust me, its worth the visit. A+

Service was great and beyond friendly. Directions are a bit weird as your gps will tell you to cut through the Exxon gas station and it's easier to just go to the next light and turn right into their parking lot. I ordered their fried pickles and these are on my top 5 for crispness, ability to hold breading, and overall flavor. A must try.

Ultimately, while it scratched that itch, it obviously doesn't hit those same highs. Walking in you have the typical Irish pub decor, but with a lot more TVs. However, for the area, that's what you're looking for, as most come to watch a game with a pint. When I went, there was even a projector up to show an additional football match, though I myself was more interested in a soccer match, which they also had on. The bar staff was wonderfully friendly and let me try a couple of beers before settling on my choice for the morning. For food, Guinness Beef Stew was go-to in Ireland, so trying it here, was also very good. The broth was a bit milder and meat was less tender than what I had recently experienced, though I imagine that's just the difference between domestic/imported Guineas and Irish/American beef. It was enjoyable overall and I would certainly have it again. Willie Mcbride's is probably one of the best Irish pubs in the area and I would certainly come back again, especially since comparing to Ireland itself isn't entirely fair.

Like nachos but they use kettle chips rather than tortilla chips. A baked Reuben dip (a special)--so cheesy and savory! A soft baked pretzel--perfect for sharing. Came with a spicy mustard! Then came the real Irish classics -- Irish sausage rolls--thick sausage wrapped in a pastry, a great comfort snack. Shepherds pie--a mix of ground beef and lamb. This was savory and perfect for a cold March day! Fish and chips--the BIGGEST fish ever and it was so light and battered well. And if you're a sandwich person, you have to try The Rail Bender which was a huge sandwich with mouthwatering beef brisket, and came with a savory au jus for dipping. For drinks, we went full Irish with their St. Paddy's day specials: Irish Lucky Charm, Irish Maid, and a Jameson Orange Creamsicle that tasted like dessert. If you're looking for the perfect spot to celebrate St. Patrick's Day all year round, this place absolutely delivers. The service was warm and friendly and was a welcoming place in Spring Lake!
