The long bar is inviting and would be a nice spot to grab a drink before a Knicks Game - It seems unusual to have a quaint Italian restaurant inside Macys but they managed to pull it off! We had an early dinner at Stella on Thursday night and we had a wonderful evening. The server was smart and funny and we enjoyed the prixe fixe menu. Located on the 6th floor on Macys, the restaurant had a nice view of the Empire State Building and their service is friendly and good. The food quality varies heavily. Some of the apps, like the arancini, is very unmemorable. The napoli salad is good and the added cooked shrimp is nicely cooked. The prices are quite high for the quality of food, but it's because you're paying for the ambiance and convenience. read more

Came here for a drag show, but unfortunately we didn't receive any service at all which is crazy because this was a ticketed event. The restaurant itself is beautiful and located on the 6th floor of Macy's, so you had a pretty nice view of the city. I really wish we could have enjoyed it, but we waited about 30 minutes with no one acknowledging us. As for the food, I wish I could say how it was since we never got that far. We watched other tables around us get their food and drinks while we sat there waiting. We eventually flagged someone down and were told a server would be with us soon, but another 15-20 minutes passed and we were still ignored. I went to Stella for a Wicked Drag brunch with a few friends and it was so much fun! Stella is located inside of the Macys on 34th street, cute location but definitely took me a minute to figure it out. lol When I finally got inside I had to wait on line for the reception to check everyone in and take us to our table. The atmosphere is really cool and and have an open vibe. The servers were fun and helpful when I asked questions about the menu or needing additional condiments. The Wicked performers were amazing and put on a dope and interactive show. Im sure all the drag brunch performances are great. The only thing that was disappointing was the food options. Nothing on the menu seemed appetizing other than the Chicken and Waffles and I didn't really enjoy it. The Tiramisu, however was delicious! Were you aware that Macy's has a sit down/table service restaurant? Well, it's Stella 34 and it's stellar. Stella 34 is found on the sixth floor, is well lit, has cool decor, and very good service. We visited for lunch and had a great meal. We ordered from the lunch menu and, for the first time, I ordered from their Flower Show Prix Fixe menu. We started with Piadina appetizer (Tuscan flat bread, sundried tomato capuliata, calabrian chili, honey, whipped ricotta). I have never had a flatbread this good. All of these ingredients came together and created a memorable appetizer that I wish was on their daily menu. The entree was the Ricotta Ravioli (Ricotta stuffed pasta, lamb ragout, pecorino, mint pesto). This dish was very good, as well. I enjoyed the mix of the cheese with the lamb ragout and I appreciated the generous portion. The other entree was the Eggplant Parmigiana (Wood oven roasted eggplant, mozzarella, tomato pumarola, parmigiano). This entree was spectacular and had the perfect amount of salt/seasoning. For dessert, we shared the Panna Cotta (Matcha, chocolate ganache, carrot cake, afilla cress). The presentation of this sweet course was amazing and capped off a great meal that I wish I can enjoy every day. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. We both ordered pizza, mushroom for me, and an order of rice balls for sharing. The rice balls with saffron/cheese and a side of sauce was pretty good. There were 2 to a serving. My pizza was accompanied by a glass of crisp/delicious Rose Prosecco. The pizza was almost too crispy but good. I remember having their pizza in the past and the style has definitely changed. They have the best Drag brunches here! I love a specialized menu based on themes and Stella never fails to deliver. I took my daughter to a Shrek Drag brunch, which was full of great performers dressed as Shrek characters. We had a blast watching and interacting with them all while getting our tummies filled. I ordered waffles with short ribs and my daughter had waffles with strawberries, which were both so yummilicious. The service here was a bit low in the beginning because there were only 2 servers but when I brought it to their attention that I had been waiting awhile to make my orders, they accommodated me immediately. I will say-- Stella's a beautiful sunny place to sit and rest when you're burnt out from shopping with your visiting family in Macy's. The staff were all sweet and pretty considerate, albeit a little sparse. We had a spicy spaghetti pomodoro with shrimp (great way to substitute the regular spaghetti pomodoro), lasagna, caesar salad and branzino. The most flavorful thing on the table was the salad by far. The branzino was cooked perfectly, but had no seasoning at all The fava beans, couscous, onion, and arugula were thrown underneath with no real flavor or presentation. The salmoriglio on top felt--and tasted-- like an afterthought. Super disappointing. I got the limeade that came with mint and lavender. It was so refreshing, I almost forgot the plates were a letdown. Maybe I'll go back if I spend a whole day shopping in Macy's again. I hope to never spend a whole day shopping again. read more

For our meals we had the risotto (I was able to sub chicken for the prawns due to allergies) and their swordfish special. All of it was very good. Discovered totally randomly and pleasantly surprised by food quality and stunning views of midtown/Empire State Building. Located inside Macys building, on 6th floor and one thing to know-kitchen closes at 8pm! We ordered burrata, Napoli salad and eggplant Parmesan. Burrata was a hit: creamy, complemented by crunchy arugula, walnuts and acidic sweetness of balsamic created a total sensation in the mouth. Napoli salad was perfectly balanced, with homemade croutons. Eggplant parm was a classic home style version, thinly sliced eggplant, paired with tomato sauce and cheese, also very delicious! Service was attentive, prompt and professional. Noise level was minimal. I certainly recommend this place for a date night as it's a great escape from hassle and bustle of a Macys block and a hidden gem romantic spot. read more
