I like this place since I enjoy dining or drinking with a view. Never been in a higher level seeing Time Square till now. I heard of this restaurant via my social media and glad that we swing by. The visit is worth it. The view access is the plus of dining in here. It's located in the lobby of Msocial Hotel. A reservations is needed for the indoor restaurant but not on outdoor, service is on a first come first serve basis for its terrace. We stayed indoor during dining but was allowed to go out and feel the view. On this cold weather, there is no big competition to get a glimpse of Time Square from its terrace side. It would be a good spot to hang out during summer nights. Food is alright. Not bad at all. Mostly on its menu is American style food, more of bar food or appetizers pick. I heard how great it's cocktail drinks. We came in during brunch time so will try on our comeback which definitely we will. It's a great suggested spot to hang out with family or friends.

I made it safely to M Social and Beast & Butterflies on December 31, 2025. Beast & Butterflies is one of the venues charging a hefty fee offering a direct ball drop view and a big NYE party with food, open bar, music, merriment, and shelter from the crazy Times Square Crowds and freezing cold. Since it was a bucket list item of mine to ring in the New Year in Times Square and witness the ball drop in person (and also ring in my birthday!), I decided it was worth it. Midtown Manhattan is a madhouse on New Year's Eve, with police barricades everywhere. I had to gain access by showing my event ticket, and even the security sometimes had confusion on where to direct people. Once I made it here, at first I was kind of overwhelmed with ALL THE PEOPLE. But as I ate, explored the space, checked out the rooftop, and danced on the dance floor, I had fun. Wifi here is non-existent if you're not a hotel guest, which I think is silly considering that attendees of the party should have wifi access. There was soooo much food. My favorites were the shrimp, lobster claws, and oysters. There was an aerialist hanging from a chandelier who filled champagne flutes for partygoers. When I was dancing on the dance floor, the DJ saw my sash and gave me a shoutout and called out, "Cheers to the birthday girl!" I went out onto the terrace overlooking Times Square at 10:30pm, so that I could get a front-row view to the ball drop. Countdown started in the last minute til midnight! It was surreal AF to be sitting in the front, experiencing and seeing this, and actually seeing the ball drop in Times Square in person instead of on TV. It was cool to get a bird's eye view of the crowds leading up to Times Square, and the crowd is CRAZY. Fireworks went off, everyone shouted "Happy New Year!!!!" and I got several "Happy birthday!" wishes. Missed the desserts because I was hanging out outside. I wish the staff had the foresight to extend dessert offerings past midnight, especially since the party went on past midnight. While waiting for the crowds to die down before I head to the subway, I danced as the party went on. A few days later, I came here with a couple of friends around 5:30pm. It was weird that there were KIDS sitting at the bar--I thought bars had rules against that? We also went out to the terrace to enjoy the city views, only for security and staff to get mad at us (and a large group of guests) and bark at us that the terrace was closed. Wait, what? Isn't that one of the draws of Beast & Butterflies? The view of Times Square? Why would you close it off. Anyway, I had a great New Year's Eve ringing in my birthday. Not such a great follow-up visit a few days later.

The service was really very attentive and the drinks were good and had some fun creative names. They made a really good classic NY Sour. We loved the view and the setting but the food was just ok. I'm not sure we'd return but the view of Times Square was great. Wish it had been warmer to eat outside. Those seats were prime!

A friend of mine from out of town was visiting and we wanted to meet for a drink before an event she had at 6:00 pm so since this place was close, we decided to come here. You get here right from the lobby and at first it was kind of hard to see if they were open because there were four people behind the bar and some people sitting there, but they would not look at us. I was like "do they think they'll turn to stone if they catch a glimpse of me"? After walking around three sides of the bar I was able to ask one of the employees if they were open and she said yes, but we couldn't sit inside before 5:00. It was a nice day so we sat outside, which has great views looking down towards Times Square. Our server outside was nice but had to let us know that the kitchen didn't open until 5:00 so we couldn't immediately order anything to eat but it was a little after 4:30 so we just had our cocktails. A few minutes before 5 he came back and took our food order so it all worked out. My old fashioned was great and I liked the chorizo and seafood tapas thing I had. Additionally, the guy we had working with us for food and drinks was really awesome. His inside co-workers who seemed to want to avoid customers haven't rubbed off on him yet, so I say keep up the good work, dude! If you can snag a table outside (and find someone who actually wants a customer) this is a decent option in midtown.

The view is fantastic up here at the Beast and Butterflies spot located in Times Square and inside the M Social hotel. This place has an indoor and outdoor seating area with plenty of tables for you and your friends to chill and hang out. We randomly had a few friends from LA coming in at the same time, so our meet-up spot was here. None of us has been here, and even my friend who lives in New York hasn't either. The drinks here are strong and I have to say after a couple of drinks and shots we were lit. Also enjoyed the view and company! So if you are ever in town hit this spot up.

Yes, this spot was definitely a good vibe. The music is mellow not over powering, you could actually enjoy a good convo. Food was great, service was outstanding and the ambience is amazing. Great little spot if you are looking for a rooftop bar with chill vibes and with an amazing view of Time Square. We had a Caesar salad, Beast Burger Beef Sliders topped with Cheddar Cheese, Spicy Pickles and Chipotle Aioli, truffle fries, and two drink drinks. A Strawberry Fields: Maker's Mark Bourbon, Santoni Rhubarb Liqueur, Strawberry, Lemon, & a Passionfruit Margarita: Patron Blanco Tequila, Chinola, Cointreau, Lime, Simple Syrup Overall it was a great experience no reservations needed unless you want to sit inside, but the outside is first come first serve. Luckily, we waited a little bit for some people in the corner table to leave and we ended up with an amazing spot. I highly recommend this place if you're looking for a place to just relax and take in a nice view after a long day of walking & sightseeing in the city.

We booked a reservation for the evening to see the sunset around time square. Unfortunately, it was cloudy and gloomy. It was still a nice view. It's our first time coming here, at this restaurant. It wasn't busy for 6:30pm, it's very open and a lot of sitting and places to hang out. Very cute or chic I should say. Loved it! We got out table by the window with the view of time square. There is a balcony all around, for you to eat and drink out side as well. Our server was very nice. Helped us with options. My husband got the burger and fries (after all the other places we were at, that was fancy he was ready for real food) he loved the burger and he is picky with burgers. I tried it and you could taste all the seasoning and cheese and everything. It was tasty! I got the charcuterie board because I wasn't that hungry and, I actually loved all the cheese. I usually just love pepper jack and cheddar but everything tasted delicious. The drink I got was called "who you gunna call" it tasted amazing. Definitely could taste the rum and the pineapple and lime and the raspberry vodka. It was a refreshing taste. I did get the passion fruit margarita, not pictured and that was really good as well. After dinner we went out to drink and relax to take in the moment, because I love NYC. One of my favorite places. The next day we came around 2-3pm to get a drink and it wasn't busy at all. Pretty sure not many know about this location and place. Which is great for us! It is a hotel as well, so it's something I'd look into if I was you! Our next visit, because there will be many. I'll make sure to come here to relax and eat as well.

beautiful views and nice ambience if one were to decide to stay inside! The drinks were a bit pricey but undeniably delicious. Great location too so if you're into Japanese, visit Sake Bar Hagi!

View was great and was able to get rooftop seating on the weekend. Service was okay as it took a while to order & to pay the bill. Drinks were hella strong but not that tasty. In my opinion you're pretty much paying for the view... it's a cool spot if you wanna check out if you're in the area and looking for a place to chill.

Came here for quick nibbles before seeing a show. Made reservations a head of time but once we arrived it looked like it was unnecessary as there were ample of tables available and a few patrons dining so walking in would've suffice. We placed our food and drink orders with our server. Considering there wasn't many people dining it took a bit for our starters to arrive...and before our drinks. Was hoping our drinks came prior but didn't want to make a stink out of it since we we're enjoying our time and the views. Maybe we'll come again hoping it was a slight mishap of service. Son really enjoyed the Mac and cheese and he's willing to return for that.

This drink is called. Who are you gonna call?

Excellent atmosphere, excellent food and excellent drinks. We had the sticky Chinese ribs, some beef, sliders, and chips and salsa and guacamole. I also had the drink we're gonna call which was really good as well . I would definitely recommend this little gem .

    Relaxing / upbeat vibe.

Nice place for a family pre-show bite. Bar, drinks, edible shareable apps. Nice view a few floors up looking down broadway.

Ambiance: This place has a nice ambiance, definitely very "New York" -- dark (you can't see how dirty the floor is) and loud music (maybe too loud). We sat upstairs (we had a reservation) and of all the people on the top there was a party of 4 (us), a party of 8 (all dudes celebrating something) and the rest of the tables were on a DATE - which I thought was funny. Service: We were served by Ann-Marie who was so delightful. She was kind, super nice, and took the time to speak to us (which is basically how we figured out she wasn't a native New York City person). She gave us good food suggestions and we were very happy with our selection. Food: Here is what we ordered * Steak Frites: My two boys got the steak frites and I have to say the steak was awesome! I had a bite of each of theirs and they each ordered it differently (one Medium Rare/Medium and one Medium) and they both were prepared PERFECTLY. The fries were overflowing. * Caeser Salad with Salmon: My wife got the salad with Salmon (they only have a few salad options) and she enjoyed it. * Prawn and Crab Risotto: I got this and I have to say it was VERY bland. I wouldn't get this if you are looking for taste. I had to put salt and pepper on it to make it have any semblance of taste. Value/Price: I would say this is not over priced but it is not cheap either...bill is attached. I would recommend it to folks who are looking for a good place to either go out on a date or a family type meal.

The shepherd's pie is insanely salty and it's very off-putting. It was inedible. I was looking forward to having it but I would not in good faith recommend this to anyone. The buttermilk tenders is supposed to come with pickled shallots and marinated green beans. We didn't get the pickled shallots or the marinated green beans, which was a shame. The chicken tenders by themselves didn't have much flavor. It also is unfortunate paying $17 for what was considered a small plate and just getting the chicken tenders. The Asian-sesame wings were okay. Also, didn't have much flavor and weren't that impressive. There was also still hair on some of the pieces of chicken, so the chicken could have been cleaned better. They have fries and hand cut fries. The regular fries were soggy. Should have went with the hand cut fries. The tater tots were okay. I was told that the chicken sandwich was good. The bread was fluffy and not dry, which I had seen previous reviews say before. Paired with the creamy truffle butter, it had a luxurious mouthfeel. My favorite was the pork chop (cognac, sweet prunes, bacon, rosemary) -- the sweet and soft texture of the prune was melted in my mouth like fat, and the pork was tender, with the rosemary also coming through. The vodka rigatoni was a skip, somewhat bland and one-note, we ended up putting some of the truffle butter and garlic aioli from the fries to make it more flavorful. This was especially in contrast with the spicy shrimp pasta which was much tastier. Also got the strawberry vacherin (strawberry ice cream, meringue, vanilla whipped cream), it was my first time having this dessert. The tartness of the strawberry was great with the fluffy meringue and the sweet ice cream. Service was extremely attentive, and the restaurant is beautifully decorated with moody lighting. My reservation was at 10:15 PM, so I actually had a light dinner beforehand and ordered a little lighter than I normally would. I got: - Truffle Monkey Bread ($34.99) - Prime Rib French Dip ($39.99) - Pommes Frites ($13.99) - Banana Split Sundae ($24.99) I thought the prices were definitely on the higher end when I first sat down, but the Truffle Monkey Bread is divine! Honestly, it's probably in my top 3 bread experiences of my life. If you love truffle, butter, cheese, and basically everything good in life, please get this. It comes out slightly warm and is just incredible. I will probably dream about this bread. The French Dip was good, although it was a little too salty for me. If I get the chance to come back, I'd probably try one of their actual steaks instead. The pommes frites were super crispy, basically McDonald's fries but elevated. The Banana Split Sundae was so pretty. I loved how they placed all the little treats around the crevices/imprints of the dish (not sure how else to describe it ). It's huge, though, so definitely don't expect to finish it yourself. I'd recommend sharing it with 3+ people. I was also celebrating an anniversary, and they brought out a strawberry scoop for us. It tasted homemade and really fresh. I could actually see pieces of strawberry in it, which I loved. The restaurant is definitely on the pricier side, and getting a dinner reservation can be a struggle, but I'd absolutely go again if I got the chance. The decor is cozy and upscale, the food was excellent, and the whole place has a really nice atmosphere. My only real complaint was that our waitress kept pushing us to order more, which got a little annoying, especially since we had already ordered quite a bit. Overall: expensive + difficult reservation, but absolutely worth trying. And please get the truffle monkey bread.

They have to let you in. I didn't have a reservation, but was seated immediately. Win! I really should've asked questions instead of going rogue. My intention was to do the lunch prix fixe menu. The menu on the table was a la carte. This did however work out better for me as I had limited time since I was catching a broadway show. Started with the olives then followed with the hot dogs and closed with the gem lettuce. They did come at different times. This gave me the perfect time to nibble slowly. The olives paired perfectly with the salad. The hot dogs were my favorite. The whole meal was perfectly balanced for me. Just have to mention how amazing the service was. No table had anything waiting to be taken away because there was always someone walking around. At one point, one of the guys clocked I had just finished drinking my water and within seconds he was at my table refilling my glass. I mean c'mon. Will took great care of me. He even suggested the dessert I ended up getting which was the peach cruller. I'm gonna try to come back to do the lunch tasting before I go back home to LA.

Bursting with flavor and the potatoes made for a nice variation of textures. Salmon with endive salad was also great. Salmon skin was cooked perfectly. Only thing I wasn't crazy about was the corn gelato. Just didn't taste like much and the peaches I found didn't really play well with the dish for me. Overall though, service was top notch and you can't beat the upscale vibe. Would definitely recommend this for restaurant week experiences if you're looking to get a fine dining taste at a reduced cost. Portions felt reasonable for the quality and left full (far from bursting, but definitely not hungry at all).

The hostess was welcoming, our waitress was friendly and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu, and the support staff kept everything running smoothly throughout the evening. We took several of our server's recommendations and were happy with every one. What we ordered: * Butter Service Garni * Dressed Big Rock Oysters * Yellowtail Crudo * Filet Mignon with Pommes Purée * Nutella Opéra Cake Everything was beautifully presented and full of flavor. The filet mignon was cooked perfectly, the pommes purée were rich and incredibly smooth, and the Nutella Opéra Cake was the perfect way to end the meal. The only thing I'd mention is that the restrooms are located down a fairly long flight of stairs. If you're wearing heels, have a stroller, or have mobility limitations, it's something to be aware of. Overall, this was a fantastic experience with excellent food, attentive service, and a beautiful atmosphere. I'd gladly return and would recommend Quality Bistro to anyone looking for an upscale French dining experience.

We started with the kale salad (although it seemed more like spinach than kale), and it was still fresh and delicious. The tomato burrata was outstanding--definitely a must-order! I had the steak frites, which was perfectly cooked and absolutely delicious. My husband ordered the French onion burger, and after trying a bite, I already know that's what I'll be ordering next time--it was incredible! The cocktails were made perfectly, and to finish, we shared the lemon ice cream cake. It was light, refreshing, and not overly sweet--the perfect ending to a great meal. Everything from the food to the drinks and exceptional service made this a wonderful dining experience. We had such a great time and can't wait to come back. Highly recommend!

Thanks to my fellow Yelpers, I was lead to this great spot for a late dinner and cocktails on a Friday night. The hostess was really friendly and quicky sat us at a two seater near the bar, which we appreciated. The ambiance was light and friendly and they even had a DJ playing all the good jams! I think I danced a bit, (definitely liquid courage). The DJ read the room and created a fun ambiance. The waitress came over a few minutes later and quickly took our drink and meal order. We ordered the Tuna Crispy Rice ( Yum), Guinness Wager Sliders (Nom Nom), Korean Chicken Boas (My Favorite!) and Carnitas Tacos.....I'm embarrassed to admit that we cleaned our plates like a couple of savages. Bartley Dunnes is a great choice to come solo, meet up with friends or come as a group of no more than 4, unless you make a reservation. They have a second floor that I unfortunately didn't get a chance to check out, so I can't write about that. However, I did see people coming and going straight up. I'll be back!

We sat at the bar, which runs about half the length of the space, and there were also plenty of tables throughout. The back section of the bar feels a bit separated from the main entrance area. There are some TVs throughout, and everything inside seemed fairly new and well maintained. It was not very crowded on a Tuesday early evening, so service was quick and the staff was very friendly. We did not order food this time, but everything coming out of the kitchen looked and smelled great. Overall, I would definitely recommend this spot for happy hour drinks in the MoMA/Midtown West area.
