I loved my 1st visit to this salon. However on my 2nd visit, my stylist had forgotten to record my color she used, so she thrust the book at me with the color samples. I told her I wasn't that comfortable picking a color on my own & I needed help from her or her advice. She didn't want to help or offer any advice. Such a gem, i've been going to Stella Dieci for about three years, even after i moved far far away. I now drive about 60 miles round trip for my appointments, and would drive twice that if necessary! All the employees are super nice - and not just that faux-nice where you know they're just putting on a smile because they're getting paid, everyone there is GENUINE. How rare is that? This 4 star rating is based only on massage services by Kristin. I had a 60 minute deep tissue massage with Kristin and it she was awesome. Adjusted pressure as needed and was very friendly and professional. Kristin seems to be high in demand for her massages as well as laser hair removal services. So, bookings with her on the weekends need to be done a couple of weeks in advance. The salon is on Main St in Milford which made me skeptical as first (my husband made the appointment as a surprise). I have been going to Stella Dieci Salon and Spa since they opened. The owner, Kristen, is excellent and always goes above and beyond for her clients. The staff are very friendly, and always offer you a beverage and or snack when you arrive. When scheduling an appointment they are very helpful and willing to work with your schedule. I have even been a few minutes late for one of my appointments and they were still willing to take me. I have been getting Laser hair removal here for over a decade (starting new areas and touching up old ones). I can honestly say Stella Dieci is the best value around. I have been to Stella Dieci in the past and have loved the massages I have received there. Recently, their customer service has been appalling. The spa cancelled my facial appointment 1 hour before the appointment; they offered me a new appointment with the facial "gratis". That appointment was for today, they called less than an hour prior and canceled my mani/pedi but said I could still get a facial. I drove to the spa, checked in & proceeded to wait 55 minutes before they cancelled the facial too. Stella Dieci cancelled 3 appointments & no services received... I've been getting my hair done by Carolyn at Stella Dieci for a little over a year now. She does an amazing job at cutting and coloring my hair, people are always asking me where I get it done! I sport an edgy bob and my hair is bright purple...I require a razor cut that Carolyn is excellent at and I don't know of any other salons in the area that offer the funky colors that I want professionally put in my hair. I think I've tried just about every service offered at Stella Dieci. Great place!!! On the spa side...Unparalleled deep tissue massage by the owner Kristin! She is the best I've found and I've trod a lot. Excellent and cost effective laser too. Facials and more, all really good. On the salon side - keratin, Brazilian blow out, color and cut. My mom made a surprise appointment for me at Stella Dieci when I was staying in Milford for a weekend and I needed a massage so badly I thought my body was at the brink of collapse. Best.mom.ever. Stella Dieci is definitely a place to keep going back to. All of the employees are ridiculously sweet and really want to make you feel relaxed the second you walk in the door. The rooms are modern and very comfortable and the masseuse I had gave me one of the best massages I've ever had. I walked out of the service feeling like I was walking on Cloud 9 and immediately crashed on my moms couch the moment I got home. I was visiting my daughter last month and she booked a hair appt for me. Receptionist kept pushing services on me and even kept pointing out an available appt but could not explain the service to me. The person who did my hair? NOT GOOD. Who applies color 1/2 inch from the roots???? I had grey hair showing still. I asked for bangs to be trimmed and she didnt want to do it. She mentioned she had a get together to go to...oh sorry! Am I, the paying client keeping you from you party??? When I went to pay, I tipped the stylist in cash in front of the receptionist...why then...did the receptionist keep pushing for me to put a tip on my cc after I even told her I tipped the stylist. What I did see of the staff was unfriendly and unprofessional. I dont mind paying a high price but the service and customer service has to be A+ and this was not it. Not ever going back when I visit again. I want to add to this. I went to get my cut and color fixed at another place. No one understood why my color was placed 1/2 in from my roots and the color they said was really bad. And...I had half the stylists at the salon looking on in horror (and I kid you not( as the stylist fixing the cut found chunks missing or not touched. They all kept saying "this is sloppy work" and "I cant believe how f*&^ed up this cut is". Nice huh? I was freaking out in the chair hearing this but was glad to hear it as it confirmed it to me. If you could see the Stella Dieci cut and color and now what I had done...you could see the poor job that was done at Stella Dieci. As I stated before...if you didnt want to come in to work and go to your party..you should have stayed home and not done such a crappy service! read more

This review is purely based on customer service. I did not get a chance to use their service and hence cannot comment on that. That being said, I made a laser hair removal appointment to meet with the technician for a consultation. I was suppose to arrive at 4:30pm and due to heavy traffic + accident on E. Main Street, got delayed. I did call the spa at 4:35pm letting them know that I am running behind schedule, but should be there in next 5 minutes (as per my GPS). The receptionist seemed fine by my estimated arrival at 4:40pm. I am half a mile away with an arrival time of 4:44pm. I get a call from the spa at 4:42pm stating that they can't take me because the technician has another appointment at 5pm. Also, it is a 30 minutes appointment and not 15 minutes as stated to be earlier when I booked the appointment. Couple things: - How come it was ok when I was arriving at 4:40pm and now 4 minutes later it is a big deal? It should have been a big deal since 4:31pm, correct? - I was told it would be a 15 minutes consultation and now it is 30 minutes? The lady on the phone, I believe her name was Shay - didn't seem bothered or concerned about her behavior. She lacked compassion and was very cold. I did mention to her I am half mile away and will be there in 2 minutes, she just said "sorry she can't take you" (I sulk and turn around since I was just there...how sad) She also messed up my appointment times during my very first conversation with her. I did have another follow up for the next day, but that was the actual service appointment. She didn't even offer other times for next day morning/afternoon or any availability for next few days. It just felt like she didn't want to go an extra step and that is sad, when is comes to customer oriented business. I would have worked with her and figure out some alternate times, but just her attitude turned me off and I was not interested in talking to her any further (I sound bitter? I know...sorry) How about some compassion and understanding...I guess not! I will definitely not be going there again or recommending them just from the fact that they do not treat their customer right. I understand I am late and that is my fault, but what pissed me off is the fact that when I called them with my ETA of 4:40pm it is ok, but 4 minutes later it is not? Also, when I booked my appointment I started getting text messages from them with the reminder. I was not asked if I would like my reminders to be texted to me and mind you that is along with the phone calls...a little too much in my opinion. I asked her to remove me from the text message service, since they did not seek my consent and sent me 5 messages in 2 days. Long story short - you might want to get there an hour in advance as you never know what they might decide on :) plus I wasted an hour of my time, along with precious gas...by just going back and forth. Stella Dieci salon and spa is outstanding! I've been going to master stylist Barb Dubeau for over 20 years. She does an amazing job, always listens to what you want to do and gives good advice on styling. She's also alot of fun to chat with and I highly recommend her. I get cut, color, brows, keratin, wax all sorts of spa /salon related offerings. I booked my appointment with Lilly for a mani and a pedi and have to say I was not impressed with her work. She was extremely slow (2hrs for a basic mani and pedi) , she hurt me when she was removing my cuticles, and nail polish looked sloppy. I am not coming back to this place....at least not for manicure and pedicure. read more
