Tucked on Main Street, you'll find funnel house. It's a tiny house but the funnels are delicioussss!! I shared 1 funnel cake amongst 4 people. We got the strawberry and whipped cream. I'm personally used to the funnel cakes from fairs and amusement parks that tend to be super crunchy and hard to break into sometimes from being fried too long. But this one.... SOFT. Fresh to order of course. Super easy to tear apart and scoop up the strawberries and whipped cream. I loved the texture, and the strawberries weren't too sweet at all. I think it's such a great sweet treat to have when in HB. There's also other goodies like cookies, brownies and drinks. Customer service was fast, standard, nothing else. & pricing is very fair. They have a small floating side table to eat off of, otherwise you'd eat this outside. It's pretty cramped inside. Parking is on main or in the close by parking garages. No restroom. Finally got to try out the Funnel House after wanting to visit for more than a year since moving to SoCal!!!! Paid street parking with nominal fees were plenty available on a Wednesday afternoon. No lines upon entry and the service was quick and friendly. I got to watch how the funnel cake is created! I love fresh funnel cakes but had no idea what sort of monstrosity I ordered. My sundae came with huge scoops of two flavors of ice cream of my choice. Plus whipped cream and syrups of my choice. I wish I had the foresight to have the ice cream in a separate container to avoid the crispy fluffy funnel cake from going soggy quickly. I liked how not too sweet my ice creams were. The funnel cakes were thick and fluffy albeit a bit soggy due to the melting ice cream. I wouldn't mind revisiting again just to enjoy the treats. It is so worth the visit. read more

The place was a little dirty but the funnel cake was under cooked and mushy all except around the outside. And for $18.95 they put one little scoop of strawberry sauce that didn't cover half the funnel cake. I didn't realize that the second scoop they were offering was only honey, chocolate, marshmallow gross, none of that goes with vanilla and strawberry. The inside is small, it was super busy and the music was lit. My friend placed his order and we stood by the entrance table that faces the street to wait. This review is solely based on service (technically lack of). I walked into the shop, looked at what they had, decided to get a churro, but the guy working didn't acknowledge me since he was texting on his phone. I said "hi" in case he'd somehow not seen me. He replied "hi" but continued texting without any other "sorry I'll be right with you". It felt awkward and very rude, so I decided not to stay. I half expected him to say something as I was walking out. I turned to look as I left and he never looked up from his phone. I have no problem with someone taking a moment for personal time but this guy never indicated he was planning to help me. Staying at the Hyatt Regency in HB and we planned to stop at places that looked delicious within walking distance. So we made our way over on a Saturday afternoon to get a nice little midday treat. It's right there in the middle of Main Street just past Baskin Robbins. It's a mystery to me why you would go for corporate ice cream when a few doors down you could have had this amazing goodness! It's just small little shop with two lines that loop around. There were two gals working. We watched as one was making fresh churros for the two parties ahead of us. They were ginormous! My son ordered an ice cream cookie sandwich, chocolate chip cookies with cookies n cream inside. Again, gigantic! My husband got a brownie ice cream sandwich with two super fudgy and moist thick brownies, at least and inch thick with vanilla ice cream. I opted for a funnel cake with strawberries and whip ($2 off with a Yelp check-in). The funnel cake was thick, crispy, and warm. The only thing I wish is that the strawberries were larger and fresh chunks; it ended up being more of a compote. We were incredibly stuffed, so much we were minimally hungry 5 hours later. I went in last night around 8:45pm Tuesday after a farmers market night and the place was pretty packed. I waited about 5-10 minutes for my freshly made funnel cake. I ordered a funnel cake with strawberries. It's pretty big and shareable! They charge extra $2.25 for whipped cream. I skipped the whipped cream because they put a pretty good amount of strawberries and purée with powdered sugar. I actually had to watch the employee and ask for a small amount of strawberry! It's very filling! Overall we had the funnel cake and the churro. Super sweet and yummy in my belly.
