I've been have been going here because I found a Groupon deal, 40 dollars for unlimited classes for a mont. I'm completely new to yoga so I was nervous, but the staff here is very nice. Everyone is supportive and judgment free. I've only been to the basic classes since I'm new to yoga but I've enjoyed every one of them. My favorite is the "yen" class. It's basically a deep stretching class. The "basics" cause me to break a sweat and feel like a decent workout. Overall this place has a great vibe. The classes are relaxing and all the people who work there are very sweet and supportive. I highly recommend this place, it's worth a try especially since it's only 40 dollars for new students! read more

I've been going to Stella Luna for now 3 years consistently to my Saturday 8am morning class. 8am on a Saturday.. madness right? But that's how much the instructor Alice is worth it. Her vinyasa class is an amazing workout and you just feel so good about yourself. She challenges you, switches up the flow every week, and we've become a family. After one month, I learned how to do a headstand! Alice is just awesome who knows exactly what she's doing and teaching. I'm a student so it's harder to come on weekdays. However, I've gone to a few, and every instructor is wonderful. Make sure you know what class you take- basic, vinyasa, yin yoga, etc. and I'm sure you'll love it. :) read more

I love yoga. The attention to deep breathing, the stretching of muscles gives me energy to face the day's demands. Sadly, if I'm not in class, I'm not interested in practicing yoga. I've bought the tapes, collected videos on YouTube and PBS, and taken notes from former classes. But, for me, there's nothing like experiencing yoga with a group of enthusiasts. So I'm thrilled to have found Stella Luna Yoga studio right here on Yelp. Yes, I checked out other studios but chose S.L.Y. because the location is close to home, the price is right ($39 month, current beginner rate), and the hours fit into my schedule. I started with the Beginner's class that meets Sunday mornings. Jared taught the class. He's easy to follow. Didn't even have to look at his poses just follow his instructions. He's very clear and thorough. Patient. Moves at a good pace. The exercise room was smaller than I expected, but everyone fit comfortably. The floor was clean and the room well-ventilated. I noticed a man standing next to the window outside the classroom smoking. Thankfully his smoke and the exhaust from the parking lot didn't leach inside. I borrowed a few blocks and blankets, but now that I've signed up for the summer I'll provide my own equipment. I sweat a lot. After class Jared briefly described the other classes offered at the studio so we could pick which would be most appropriate for our level of expertise. Next I'm gonna try the Gentle class. Start slow and ease into the summer. Woohoo, can't wait for my next class. read more

I attend and have visited many studios in all of southern California, but nothing comes close to Stella Luna Yoga the atmosphere is so authentic and makes me feel completely welcomed and at home. You can tell the studio holds such a sacred space for not just the yogis, but for the community as well. The yoga practice focuses deeply on meditation and breathing, but also teachers challenging yoga poses for all levels. The gentle class is perfect for all levels as well and is very restful. It's so refreshing to be a part of a yoga studio that stays authentic and committed to traditional yoga. Not only are all the instructors great in their own unique ways, but the guest teachers also are a wonderful treat to have. Yesterday I came to my first yoga session in years. The 745pm class was amazing with Monica. I definitely enjoyed the way she ran her class. Little did I know it was gentle yoga. Which was tailored made for me. It was definitely healing for my body, mind, and spirit. She was both enlightening and educational. I would highly suggest you come take gentle yoga if you are dealing with any stress, trauma from past relationships, or any soreness. This class will do wonders. Monica... You are amazing. Customer service: Meh - please read below JARED: 5 - BEST instructor here Studio: 3 - small space but they do provide blocks, blankets, pillows, ties, essential oils, and pleasant energy I found Stella Luna Yoga two years ago when my mom's co-worker gave her a gift certificate for three classes. My mom and I tried the beginners class and she definitely loved the new experience and how her body felt afterwards. If you had asked me years ago, I would rave about this yoga studio. Unfortunately, I am older and wiser now...sorta. I returned with two friends some old months later to drop-in on a Sunday morning class. We figured we'd buy the package since it's more bang for your buck. Too bad I wasn't told about the deadline to use the classes. I didn't see any date on my online account or my receipt when I purchased the three-class package. I also tried calling them to inquire about its expiration but couldn't get a hold of anyone because no one answers the phone. Fast-forward to last Sunday. I received a birthday email offering a FREE class for myself or a friend! Upon checking-in, I mentioned I had previously bought a package. She asked when and I answered truthfully - about a year ago. I'm assuming she checked my account but who knows and pretty much I went once and lost the other two remaining classes. TIP: MAKE SURE YOU MAKE IT TO YOGA CLASS! The instructor on Sunday was not my favorite as she talked too much for my liking and didn't seem to adjust ANYONE in the beginners class. As if we all showed up able to knock out perfect downward dogs, child poses, warrior poses, you get the idea. Good news is that she isn't the regular. That would be Jared. I highly recommend taking a class with him. Overall, it is a nice, well-kept studio. I honestly wish this place had better ventilation; it felt a little stuffy. If you are looking for a small space and traditional practice, Stella Luna is for you. I recommend getting a Groupon - at least those have expiration dates printed right on them! Perfect yoga sessions for any skill level! I am definitely a yoga newbie, so I wanted to make sure that I joined one that would go easy on me due to my inexperience. I was referred to this place by my Fiancé's sister and she could not have found a more perfect place for me. My first session didn't drive me away, but only made me fall more in love with this exercise. It's a very affordable place compared to the other yoga places in the area, especially if you get their special packages like the first time student prices (I got my deal from the Mind and Body App!) I've taken different classes with different instructors and I've got say that everyone has been great! All the classes have their own feel to them which makes each class a different experience that keeps me coming back for more! I love how I can see all the classes and who is teaching on the app, so I can reserve for a spot in class with ease! Also all the instructors are very friendly and strive to make sure that we are all doing okay in all of our poses. I also appreciate that each one of them begin the class by asking if anyone has any health concerns or have specific concerns prior to starting the poses. All the members that go to the class have also been very pleasant and I have not found anyone to be disruptive to the class. I feel very comfortable every time I go. I don't feel any judgement or any disrespect. The yoga studio is also very and does not smell like some exercise places. The bathrooms are also very clean, which is a must since we are all barefoot at the yoga studio. Bottomline, if you want to try out yoga or just need a place to get into your zen mode, you must come here! The first three classes were fine, although not stellar as no teachers gave adjustments or any individual help. The fourth class I took was with the studio owner, and it was absolutely horrible. While her instruction and the class pace was fine (although she walked in five minutes late without an apology or explanation) I had to leave because I was so incredibly uncomfortable with the fat-shaming comments and racist remarks she made, as well as alluding that everyone in the class was entitled. It was the first class in ten years of practicing that I got up and walked out of. Further more, I sent the instructor and email and explained my departure and discomfort and giving her the benefit of the doubt that her comments were unintentional, and she never responded. Yoga should be a place of love and respect and positivity, and not only will I never return to this studio- I will tell everyone I know about the negative atmosphere of this place. read more

I've been to quite a few studios since I started my yogic journey and this place certainly delivers when it comes to the experience of Yoga. I had a class this morning with Corrine and you could tell she really cared for the students and was passionate about what she was doing. I specifically enjoyed this space because you can tell from the moment you walk in that it was a place created to help and bring people together. It's not a corporation or chain establishment meant for profit, this place was probably someone's dream and now it brings joy to many others. I've never liked yoga. It always made me feel inadequate like I wasn't good enough at the poses and I could never feel like I was experiencing it the way people say you should. But, a friend who is very into yoga convinced me that because I do a lot of weight training, I really needed to incorporate yoga in my fitness routine. I also run a business and have a lot of stress at times so I thought yoga might be a way to help alleviate that. So, I looked around for a yoga studio here on Yelp and went to the Basic class at Stella Luna. After my first class I realized that I didn't dislike yoga. I disliked the yoga instructors I'd experienced in the past. Everyone at Stella Luna is kind and encouraging and believes that you can do what you can do and that's okay. They never make you feel bad for falling out of a pose or not being able to fully get into one. Instead they give helpful feedback about what you can do differently, offer other variations of poses that you may be able to do, and even get up and give gentle manual adjustments to your form. The basic classes are just that...a good hour of basic moves that anyone can do - even if you've never done yoga. The flow classes are great if you're really looking to sweat and burn some calories. Stella, the owner, is incredibly knowledgable about the body and musculature so she always shares information about why certain poses are good. She can also help with injuries or recurring issues. Her enthusiasm is contagious and you just can't help but leave Stella Luna feeling refreshed and happy. I sometimes go to class in the middle of a stressful day so I can approach my afternoon with a new attitude. The studio is warm and inviting. Everyone that goes to classes is nice and welcoming to new people. It definitely doesn't feel like walking into a yoga class at a big commercial gym where everyone is in their expensive workout clothes and just doing yoga to be cool. Once a month they have "$5 Fridays" on which you can attend a class for $5, even if you have a class package. You can just choose to pay for that one class rather than deducting a class from your package. They offer pay-as-you-go options and packages of 5 and 10 classes or even unlimited packages if you want to come more than once a week or so. Come "om" with us :) read more

I had the wonderful experience of visiting Stella Luna Yoga studio three times over the last couple of weeks. Here's what I found: On a Monday evening, my less- than-enthusiastic fourteen year old daughter and I drove to the studio to take the Flow Level 1-2 class with Jai Neal. We were greeted by the instructor at the front door and found the environment instantly inviting. The studio was more than spacious enough for the rather large class. The sunlight filtering through the room as the sun was getting lower was really very pretty and the scent in the air was subtle yet calming. About forty-five minutes later, it did a passable job of covering my funk. Jai's class was fun and matched his playful personality. He was conversational, witty, and supportive. The ladies particularly loved it. It was really a nice introduction to the studio. The next class I took was the Hot Flow with Allie Seymour. Having no babysitter for my six year old son and using that as an excuse to not go, I was encouraged by the owner to bring him with me. So, feeling like that dick of a parent who forces his kid on everyone in the most inappropriate of situations, I brought him armed with the excuse of, "Stella told me to." Once again, we were greeted by the instructor, this time it was Allie, and I was instantly taken in by the positive energy of all of the staff. From my limited experience in yoga, I found Allie's exuberant energy to be immediately endearing and her instruction to be supportive and challenging. It was really lovely how she could use her voice to encourage us (I'm assuming that everybody's experience was like mine) to do things we thought we were not capable of. My son followed along really well and was treated so kindly by everyone that it provided a sense of family and community that I had not expected. My last class was taken with James Dixon as a Flow 1-2 class again. This was perhaps my favorite of the three. (It's hard to choose!) I again brought my even more-less-than-enthusiastic daughter with me. I was having a bad day and was in a shit mood so I figured this would be a good test. James greeted us with a hug and a really sincere, "So nice to see you." When the class started, I noticed that James seemed to be a talented teacher, flowing intuitively and seeming to attend to everyone in class without pauses in his routine. Again, this was really very challenging for me and, because of the way the class was taught, I definitely did not feel out of place, even when James began to instruct me personally on how to adjust my positions. After we were done and saying a warm goodbye to the staff, I asked my not-so-easy-to-please daughter how she liked it, expecting the typically cynical response of a teenaged girl. But what I heard was, "That was so, so good." It was a good day and I can't wait to visit again! read more

Stella Luna Yoga is a peaceful little place to come and find inner peace and practice yoga. I took my first class this morning with Alyssa and she was so sweet and kind. I felt so welcomed as a first timer and loved the incorporation of poetry into the class. I was surprised how emotional I felt during the class, but Alyssa was reassuring and made me feel completely comfortable. I came here for pain management and mental health and plan on staying. Poor communication & poor customer service from Stella! Stella Luna appears to have many satisfied customers, however, the manner in which a business handles conflict is a true testament to their customer service standards. **The following was my unfortunate personal experience, shared to help others make an informed decision. Please resist the urge to send me negative/hateful messages in response (I've received several). Thank you. Peace. CUSTOMER SERVICE: I had an issue with my Groupon purchases for myself & my family. I received an email that stated our classes were expiring (even though someone at the Stella Luna front desk told me they would NEVER expire). I made 3 attempts to reach Stella to resolve the issue. I left her 2 voicemails and even a note in person at the studio. THREE WEEKS went by before she finally called me back & left me a voicemail, stating that she would take a look at my account. Another TWO WEEKS have gone by and my account remains expired. Stella never rectified the situation. TEACHERS & STUDIO: As far as the studio goes, I only had a chance to take 4 sessions. *Therese Sabino was an excellent Gentle Yoga instructor. *James Dixon's Yin class was great because he was really attentive to the entire class & helped everyone make individual adjustments. *Gentle Yoga class with Suzy Points, however, was beyond unpleasant. Suzy seems nice enough, but her voice throughout the entire session was overcome by that "vocal fry" that has become so common. I don't think she was sick (if she was she shouldn't have been there). It sounded like she was destroying her vocal cords when she spoke. It was painfully uncomfortable to listen to for 75 minutes. HYGIENE! Awful smells in the front studio, especially when you're doing so much deep breathing! Both myself & my guest were turned off by it. If there is not some heavy incense burning to mask it, then there is a strong, horrible smell coming from the storage area where all of the blankets & blocks, etc. are stored. It's a disturbing smell & makes me wonder how clean those supplies are that everyone SHARES! I REALLY wanted to love this place. But mostly due to Stella's lack of professionalism, (as well as the stinky blanket section), I would not recommend this studio. read more

Tried this place out for the very first time this morning. I lucked out and got a class that Stella was teaching. She's awesome! She has a way of making you feel super comfortable. My favorite part of her class was her affirmations. She definitely does such a great job making you feel very empowered and ready to tackle the rest of your day. In terms of the facility... It's great. It's very quaint and that's what I love about it. It's not "corporate" like some of these other yoga studios. The vibe is very welcoming and "home-y". Stella Tryon, the owner, is what I like to call a 'Cosmic Cowgirl'. Her classes are transcendental and uplifting, yet she is very attentive and nurturing. Her joy is infectious and rings throughout the studio. I have left her classes completely rejuvenated and inspired.. Also, Stella Luna Yoga is a veritable resource for anyone who is interested in yoga, energetics, and a holistic lifestyle in general through the variety of workshops offered. Some if which are FREE (a book club on Wednesday nights!) Kids can also join in on Saturday mornings...something you don't find too often! I recommend this studio for anyone who is interested in 'dipping their toes' in the yoga world or looking to deepen their practice. read more

Wanted to get a practice in while traveling. I found them on yelp and decided to give it a try. Drove to the shopping center and couldn't miss the huge blue "YOGA" sign. They're donation based which is uber cool! I took an all levels + heated class. Surprisingly it was free and no pre-registration was required. Very hassle free and simple way to entice me! The class was good but not great. There was no assisting and the teacher chatted heaps. She was very spiritual (not something I'm used to our prefer). I'm glad I got to try it. Definitely not your typical OC studio. They also offer other holistic treatments and free yoga mat rentals and props if you forget yours. I'd most likely visit next time if I need to get a practice in somewhere close by. :) read more

It is a welcoming & peaceful environment that offers classes for everyone, whether you are looking for an advanced flow type of class, baby and me class, or gentle (sleepy time) class. Using groupon offer here for the month. So far so good. The classes are not overly crowded and the instructors are pretty good. There are various types of yoga classes here and I enjoy that you can sign up online and see what classes are being offered. I'm not much of a yoga person but I like that there is various intensity that offers to even beginners like myself. Parking here at times can be a pain as it is in a small shopping center but there is side street parking too. read more

I think Stella should start going by Stellar, because that's what she is! I started practicing yoga at the beginning of the year at another great yoga studio (Ja Yoga in LB). Stella was teaching a class there at that time. I fell for Stella after one class - her positivity, creativity, joy, and how she worked mah bahdy just the right amount. When I discovered she was opening a studio in my neck of the woods, I was excited. Beyond great yoga, Stella Luna Yoga has classes on vegan cooking, Thai massage, plants, birth education, meditation, reiki, and a book club. The environment is warm and family friendly. (My 3 kids love AnnaKate's Saturday kid classes!) I've gone to a few other teacher's classes there (notable, Kellie) and enjoyed them. The best family owned yoga studio in the WEST COAST baby! This is a place where you can come alone and make friends, feel comfortable practicing yoga (beginners and advanced yogis), and this studio is a judgement free zone! I would not practice yoga anywhere else. S.L.Y is local and made affordable for the college goers across the street. I used to take yoga classes at the gym until I discovered Stella Luna, I have to say that this studio takes yoga to a different level. I love the classes offered at this studio. Yin yoga has to be one of my favorite yoga practices along with Hatha yoga. All the instructors are great. If you want to take a beginners class then I recommend taking a beginners class on Friday at 5 pm with Jesse. Hatha yoga with Jared is more of a beginner-intermediate level. And if you want a work out then take a class with Stella as she will definitely work you out to the fullest. Overall I think this studio offers great classes at a reasonable price. read more

I searched Yelp for studios in my area, and came across Stella Luna Yoga. I read the reviews,,,,,and I decided I would give it a try. This studio is smaller, and very comfortable and cozy. Super great energy. Ive never been in any other studios, so I don't have anything to compare it to. From the moment I walked in the door,,,I knew its where I wanted to be. I signed up for one of the beginner packages. Two weeks, unlimited classes for $25. Perfect amount of time to figure out if this was for me! I took several classes, and I have to say, its one of the best things Ive ever done. The instructors are all knowledgable, professional, and fun!! The atmosphere at Stella Luna is always positive. I was nervous the first class, but let my instructor know, and I was assured that it would be great. And it was! And every class that Ive taken since then has been amazing as well. Ive taken gentle yoga classes and all levels flow classes. They do offer hot yoga, but Im not ready for that quite yet. Their website makes scheduling super easy. You can see the schedule of classes, and register for a class, or change your current schedule. It just makes things super fast and easy. After my two week beginner package was up, I purchased a year membership at Stella Luna Yoga. To be honest, I knew I was going to buy a membership after the first class. My mind and body feel peaceful, and relaxed after a class at Stella Luna. I LOVE Stella Luna Yoga! It's the best yoga studio I have been to. I bought a two week trial package 1.5 years ago and was instantly hooked and have been going ever since! Everyone is super friendly, welcoming, great instructors. I signed my husband up to go with me and at first he was like "What? Yoga is for chicks!" and guess who has also been hooked and going regularly for 1.5 years?! Yep, he loves it too. The customer service is excellent. I just saw a negative review below and thought "WHAT, how can that be?!" then I clicked on the profile and that person has mostly negative reviews, sounds like a chronic whiner to me.
