Additionally, a really cool excavator tool that scoops up wood chips. It's a little tricky to control for smaller kids but fun with assistance. A little confusing to find parking. It's across the road -- under the bridge, actually. My husband and I disagreed on whether we like the parking arrangement. He loved that the car stayed cool but I felt a bit unsafe (felt like a secluded garage). Once you park, find the rock sign for the park. Follow the path to the pond. Go left at the pond to access the playground (I missed the path initially because you can't see that it continues from where you're standing) or go right to circle the pond (a nice walk) and find the playground that way. I preferred the longer walk to see ducks and turtles. The ducks have a cool floating house on the water. The playground was empty the entire time. Nice for social distancing. Maybe it's the fact that it's tucked away and a bit of a walk from the parking area. Either way, was nice to have it all to ourselves.

A nice little park along the Brushy Creek trails with lots to offer. You can enjoy nice views, sit…read moreon a bench and relax. You can watch or feed the ducks. You can also fish. The kids say there are catfish and an assortment of other types of fish to be caught. There is also a playground to bring the kids so they get some fresh air and exert some energy. Finally you can take pictures of all the going on. I am a little disappointed this year with the leaves changing color, but still a beautiful place. Parking is available under the bridge so don't fret!

There are two Pickleball courts, half basketball court and two playscapes. Behind the pool you'll find two fenced off dog parks, and a meandering trail goes to a wetland preserve. The trail continues behind many of the homes along the way. The pool requires a special residential access card, but the dog parks do not. Opposite the pool, and just across the street, there's another covered playscape with swings and a paved trail. A great asset to the local community.

It's other advantages consist of about a dozen parking spaces, a public bathroom, water fountain, covered playscape with swings and a circular gravel trail to walk laps on. Nearby is an additional area to practice your skateboard tricks. These trails run directly next to Gilliland Creek, which means during a period of torrential rains, the trails may actually be closed off. Good spot to bring the kids, dog or a bike.

Today, we took him to Woodlands Park in Austin, Texas. I have to say, this is one of the most pristine and well-maintained parks I've visited in quite some time. The grass looks like it belongs on a golf course...perfectly trimmed, lush, and vibrantly green. The grounds are spotless, with no stray litter in sight, and the trees and landscaping are healthy and beautifully cared for. Woodlands Park is a peaceful neighborhood gem, that invites you to slow down and enjoy the moment. Whether you're looking to meditate, read a book, or simply unwind, the tranquil atmosphere makes it easy to do so. Mature trees provide abundant shade, a welcome luxury during 90+ degree Austin weather. The walking trails offer a pleasant setting for a leisurely stroll, light jog, or dog walk. While the trail system is not large, it's well-maintained and perfect for a relaxing outdoor escape. The green spaces are ideal for picnics, badminton, tossing a ball around, or simply stretching out on the grass and enjoying the fresh air. My brother-in-law, my husband, and I spent a couple of hours there and thoroughly enjoyed the peaceful surroundings. Sometimes the best parks are ones to relax and reconnect with nature.

There's a covered playground, a couple of small soccer fields (not full size but they do have goals for practicing), a couple of tennis courts, a covered pavilion with a big bbq grill, and picnic tables with bbq grills throughout the park. It's a cool place to chill out at or walk along the creek on the crushed granite trails. The trails are very moderate, with minimal incline and not rugged at all. Good creek views and mostly shaded. This is a good place to stop if you need to fill your water bottle before or after hiking the River Place Natural Trail. If you haven't done that one, you GOTTA check it out btw. Yes, they also have restrooms here.

It sits in a quiet residential neighborhood and there are apartments across the street. It is chocked full of well manicured trees, most of them being ceder trees. There is no parking lot, so you will have to park along the neighborhood street. There is no pool, bathrooms or any other amenities other than a water fountain. However, there are some very well designed play scapes and swings for the kids. There are quite a few picnic tables scattered around the park, but none of them are covered. There is a nice walking trail that goes around the park which sits on about 3 to 5 acres. At one end of the park you'll find some community gardens. There is also a large field next to the gardens to throw a frisbee around. Definitely one of the nicer neighborhood parks in Austin.

We decided to just walk him around the outside of the park on the sidewalks and while we were walking on the sidewalk across the street a security guard for the private school comes out and gets mad at us when we were just on the sidewalk (??). Overall, just don't take any young kids here because there's nothing to do. No playground. Splash pad that doesn't work.
