I recently had one of their technicians come and give me an estimate on my idea to install a home theater system. Edgar was prompt, informative, and reasonable with his price for what I wanted to do. He then asked my wife and I to come to the show room to get a visual of what it would look like and I was very impressed. About a week later, his two technicians showed up promptly as scheduled and installed one of the greatest systems I have not only seen, but have heard as well. I was impressed with the quality of work and their professionalism as well. If you are considering installing a Home Theater System, I would suggest Stellar Home Theater, give one of their technicians a call and they will come out and give you a quote and some suggestion on what you should do. There are simply not enough words to express my utter disdain for this company. Not only is it horrendously mismanaged, but it has also ceased operations while continuing to charge customers for its so-called "Platinum Service." Even worse, there has been zero communication about the company's current status. No emails. No calls. Their website was down for a full week, and not once did they attempt to inform customers of what was going on. Even when they were operating, their service was dismal. We were paying $500 a month for their "Platinum Service," only to receive inconsistent follow-ups and avoidant communication. Getting a response -- let alone a resolution -- was like pulling teeth. They overcharged customers egregiously for replacement parts and operated with little to no transparency. Their practices were unethical, even when they were still taking appointments. We had no choice but to dispute the charge with our credit card company and replace our card altogether just to ensure they wouldn't continue billing us for services they were no longer providing. It wasn't until I contacted a former employee via their personal cell -- someone based in Austin -- that I learned the staff hadn't been paid in over two pay cycles. That says everything you need to know. Shame on you, Shane (Owner), for running a business with such blatant disregard for your customers, your employees, and the fundamentals of honest, ethical operations. To make matters worse, they are not even an authorized Control4 dealer or certified technician -- something I confirmed directly by calling Control4 myself. That's a critical fact that I imagine many customers would've liked to know before doing business with them. If you're still being charged or waiting on automation gear: cancel your payment method immediately and file a dispute. This company has gone dark -- and not in a good way. I strongly encourage anyone affected to submit a formal complaint directly to Control4 headquarters. This company's non-performance and unethical practices deserve full accountability. And if, by some miracle or manipulation, this company ever rises from the ashes: avoid it like the plague. read more

As of May 21, 2025, they appear to have gone out of business. Their phone numbers no longer work, nor do their emails. I spoke to a former technician who worked for them and he said that they closed their doors, did not pay outstanding wages, and "imploded." I now have no technical support for my five-figure security system, nor warning that this would happen. Rather unprofessional. So . . . I would go somewhere else. read more

Amazing work done from a very capable team at Stellar. I have used them in the past in my previous home and they continue to do Stellar work. My work involved updating my wiring at my home in Highland Park... installing two equipment racks and providing full automation for my home including the AV, lighting, shades et al. The team finished the work ahead of schedule, and provided the training once the job was done. The quality of the techs was amazing.. I know they also provide 24/7 technical support that I have used in my previous home, and will continue to use that service in this as well. Please do your through diligence about their service first. They did not even return my calls in first three months (warranty period). I called/texted them multiple times including the owner, Shane Bala. But they never returned or fixed the problem. Very very bad customer service experience. Here is a funny part.. Once the warranty was over, they responded. I reminded them that this is an old issue from the beginning that was never addressed. But they did not budge and insisted on $200/hr service charge. Also, once you get Control 4 automation system from them, you are stuck. Even though you own the instrument, they will not release the programming password to you. So you are stuck with them for ever and have to pay them $200/hr for any programming changes. Absolutely awful!! read more

Not impressed with this company at all in Dallas. I moved into a house where the previous owner had been using their service. I called them 5 times and left 3 messages with people to inquire about understanding what the previous owner had and what the process was to switch everything over, and they kept telling me someone would call me back, but never did!! Doesn't seem like an effective way to run a business IMO. I consider myself a pretty patient customer, but this is a bit outrageous. Moving on to a new vendor. read more

Agreed with others, a consistent fail and regret ever having engaged this group. This has been an unprofessional and very disorganized process, the individuals managing the operation have consistently provided misinformation, went as far as to boldly make inaccurate statements that could have easily been avoided had they taken the time to get organized with the documentation, installation items were missed, items were double charged, and now we have equipment that has failed in less than 30 days and there is clearly no urgency on their end to fix. Highly recommend avoiding this group at all costs, especially given the abundance of other reliable and qualified talent in the metroplex. read more

Extremely bad experience. I should have run when they asked for a 90 percent payment upfront (I now understand why they require that). From the initial estimate visit to multiple install visits lasting approximately 3 months their service, punctuality and knowlege level was a disaster. Do not use!!! They promise and lie! 9 windows in my home were not connected to my alarm system. I was never told about this... but after having service required every 2 weeks, they sent a 3rd party alarm Company who laughed at the magnets stacked on top of magnets and gum /putty used to put them together. Stay away from them! I agreed to have a system installed for approximately $1500. They tried but it doesn't work as agreed, but they said it would take an additional $3500 to make it work. I told them no. The owner called and left a message, but won't call back. I've left three messages without a return. I guess this is what you'd call "bait and switch". Wish I'd never called them. The $1500 was an expensive lesson, but the $3500 would probably not have been the end of it either. Bad News! read more

AWFUL!!! Do not use this company! The Allen location is terrible managment and customer service. You are better off to go to Myhomedia, Stereo East, Nebraska furniture mart, or even Best Buy. Stellar left us with multiple issues and they refuse to help us or call us back unless they charge us hundreds per hour to do so. If I could leave none I would, I made a deposit to get a media room in my study. I paid 700 dollars for pre wire separate from my bill, when it came to close on my house I put more down on my house. I was told my my salesman Jake that I could pay 6 months same cash which was perfect for me, when I opt to do so I was told he has never had to do that with anyone at this company and would have to have a meeting with his boss to do so. Two days later I'm making the effort to get in contact with him to see what's going on, which is terrible when your messing with someone's money. As a business owner myself I have been called the wrong name countless, but how he corrected me for saying Jack but his name is Jake isn't good customer service. And you don't ask a customer why they have a attitude over text, you can't read a attitude over a text.
