Kami, called me on October 16, 2024, she literally scolded me (as though I was a child) and told me that Nick, owner of Pure Choice, said I threatened to write a google review, which I NEVER did. Due to his dishonesty, I felt it was warranted to tell my truth. Pure Choice Construction was hired by the ACCU, Inc. HOA mgmt company for my townhome community to replace 46 decks for each homeowner. On 9/30/24 my deck was torn down. On 10/1/24 Pure Choice workers cut the underground cable line which disrupted my service for over 10 hrs. Although both the cable and utility companies flagged the work area to alert the workers where NOT to dig. Nick NEVER offered to get my services restored, he didn't even offer to compensate me until I said it's only fair that I be compensated. Only then he offered a small compensation, which I appreciated. It took me several hours of phones calls on my cell phone, (because my landline, tv, wifi and internet were all disconnected), and emails to no vail to both Nick and the HOA office. I took it upon myself and contracted my cable company, who requested a work service order for me, and was scheduled for 10/2/24. The cable company's quick response was due to my heart diagnosis, and I needed to have my landline available in case of a medical emergency. Being a senior, this horrible experience caused me immense stress, both emotionally and medically which should have NOT been my responsibility to rectify. I hope Pure Choice make sure their workers are skilled, experienced and licensed in the future to avoid this dilema happening to another medically compromised senior. Fireplace stone needs to be replaced. Countertop subcontractor dropped the stone on our floor so now part of our brand new hard wood floor needs to be replaced. Backsplash was installed crooked so we had to have it completely removed, purchase new tile that we have now paid for twice, and have it reinstalled. I could go on an on. When we signed our contract with him, he said any work that was done by him would be guaranteed to be done to satisfaction. How is it OK for him to abandon the job with so many issues on the work that was done? Regardless of him leaving the job early for whatever his reason may be, we feel completely robbed that we paid for a half-a$$ job on many of the items. Oh and in the process of our time working with Mitchell, he fired his kitchen contractor because she made several mistakes, fired his stone guy because he installed the wrong countertops in our house, fired his carpet guy because he let him do our backsplash and he installed it crooked. Sir Nicholas and I bought a pretty old home (it's over 100 years, barely, but there) and it was…read moreoriginally a one story brick craftsman styled home. Apparently some time in the 70s the owner needed more room because they had a lot of children (13 according to the owners we bought the home from) and so they dug out the basement and made a brand new floor. While this expanded the house by almost double I'm fairly certain there weren't bothersome things like building permits or regulations back them because one of the rooms was dug out of a crawl space and the dirt was simple put behind dry wall. Now I know next to nothing about construction, but I do know dry wall isn't made to hold a lot of water and it certainly isn't very sustainable against water, which happens to find it's way into the dirt under homes on occasion. So, when Nick and I bought this home it was with the concession that the drywall get torn down and replaced with a concrete retaining wall and that is where Park Range Construction comes into this story. Nick and I called multiple construction companies for quotes on this project and the professionalism ranged from people who never showed, showed up and never sent us quotes and people who showed up on time and sent us quotes in a timely manner. Park Range was in this third bucket. And not only were they prompt and polite they also bid this job at the most reasonable price (in comparison to one other company the bid was several thousand dollars less. Yes, thousands.) And not only that they said they could start the soonest and be done the quickest. So we hired them. At the end of the day what we had them do wasn't pretty - it's a concrete wall for crying out loud, so aesthetics aren't worth mentioning but the workers that came everyday were so polite and did a really great job. Not to mention that the downstairs was completely covered in dirt, dust and muck due to all the construction and they cleaned up after it all in a way that left me very impressed. The finished the job in the quoted time for the quoted price and I really don't think you can ask for much more than that. Why not 5 stars then? I think there was a couple of mis-communications around progress and when workers would show up. For example, after pouring concrete you have to let it sit for a day so no one came the day after they poured the concrete. No big deal, but since they were coming at 7, which means I was waking up way early it would have been nice to know I could have slept a little longer that day. And I think a foreman was supposed to do a final walk through with us. One was here when we did a walk through, but he stayed outside rather than coming down with us which wasn't exactly what we thought would happen, but worked out okay anyway. So, neither thing was a big deal, but they did leave me with a little confusion at times throughout the process which can maybe be avoided in the future.

I paid $425 for "Winterize - Water/Drains/Appliances," which included labor and antifreeze, as reflected on the invoice. The business publicly advertises services as a General Contractor and Home Builder, and I relied on those representations when hiring him, it's my second home and I informed him I was hiring him to do a full weatherization as I was told I needed to do if I wasn't returning for a long extended time . Eric Wiltse assured me he does this weatherization procedure a lot and has many clients who also own mountain home properties to assure me and gain my trust . Prior to the work, Mr. Wiltse texted to confirm that he was in his way to the property to winterize the home at 205 Hazelwood Drive, Nederland, CO. After receiving access confirmation. He later sent text that the work was finished and that he was on his way home. I relied on this text confirmations that the winterization had been completed and everything went well. When I returned to the home last month , I entered the home, I discovered there was no heat, no hot water, and no running water. , my cousin called a emergency # that comes out in the evenings . House had electricity.. no heat or hot water and I was informed by the technician it's not something they can do on this service call. It's serious damage . I called another company who would come to Nederland the next day for help to find out why there's no heat or water. Contractor arrived to inspect and diagnose the issue and determined that the winterization had been performed improperly. Pipes froze and burst throughout the home, and the boiler system was damaged and rendered inoperable . I showed them the detailed bill from Eric Weltse and they pointed out they the bill shows why everything happened . The contractor didn't do a full correct weatherization. Confirmed with the details in that bill. I trusted him to do the right thing It's nothing less than catastrophic damage and the house is not livable with no heat or hot water. I have now received professional repair estimates totaling $31,965, including extensive repiping, water heater replacement, and a boiler system replacement alone is approximately $15,000 This damage was not routine wear and tear. It has been identified as the result of improper winterization work. The scope and cost of the damage far exceed anything disclosed or reasonably anticipated. I have written communications (text messages) from Mr. Wiltse confirming travel to the property, performance of the winterization, and completion of the work. These communications are being preserved as evidence. Due to the extent of the damage and financial harm, I am in the process of filing a civil lawsuit in Colorado court within the next two weeks to recover damages related to this matter. I am sharing this experience publicly to warn others. Winterization in mountain conditions is critical, and improper work can cause catastrophic damage.
