Lets start from the beginning. i bought this off of groupon and reserved an appointment from the first location. i showed up and tried calling him over and over. and then i went to a local waterfront stand that has rentals themselves, its located in oyster bay. I HAD A GREAT TIME WITH THEM AND IT WAS SO MUCH CHEAPER. anyways, they had told me that it was a scam business that was illegally coming to their grounds to conduct business. i went home and contacted groupon which helped me to get in touch with the owner. we set up another appointment. this time i brought my cousin along. i wont lie and say i had a terrible time. i actually had a great time and thought all the trouble i had gone through was a misunderstanding. before leaving, he talked to me about being able to buy a board off of him since he was getting a new shipment. he also was going to give me a great price for it. only reason worth getting the star rating i had to pay for half and paid for the other half when picking up. and i am about to make a long story short. he stated having trouble with customs and this was after tons of unanswered emails since i havent heard from him and the pick up date was passed. i gave him another month and never heard from him again. its too late to even get my money back. this is terrible since i used my bonus money to pay for it. im foolish to have believed in good people and a good deal. i paid the price for it quite literally read more

Horrible customer service. Tried to book online, site gave me an error. Called into office to make reservation, was told original time was overbooked and they would combine groups. Signed up for 3pm, confirmed. Drove down to Cold Spring Harbor was told that our reservation was invalid. Waste of time. read more

I was surprised to see all the negative reviews. I bought a groupon with four friends and had an amazing time. We made the reservation online and got an email confirmation. They sent a reminder email the day before. The day of we got there and the instructor was already there. He was super friendly and accommodating to our inexperience. He got four women without grace or balance into the water with confidence. We all had a blast. The view is phenomenal. This was a bucket list item for me and Im so glad I was able to do it. Will absolutely be going back here to paddleboard again. read more

My friend and I booked a time last summer for a lesson and despite explaining we got lost trying to find the place the instructor would not do the lesson when we showed up (only about 10/15 minutes late) and then he said we could reschedule for the following week. We scheduled the appointment and no instructor was there when we showed up the next time. I've been trying to reschedule for this summer because we never could use the groupon last year and now no response. Very disgusted with this company read more

I have had a horrible experience with this company, and entirely because I took advantage of their Groupon offer for a chance to try the company out first at a discount before paying for full price SUP excursions. They told me I had to make an appointment online instead of directly through them because I was a 'coupon customer'. When the online system didn't offer the location I wanted no matter what dates or times I tried, I emailed them asking for help and got back an unsigned, incoherent message that made no sense. I asked for help again and got no response, so I reported them to Groupon and got a refund. Now they have me on their mailing list so I keep getting emails about special deals from them. I've emailed them back several times asking to be taken off the list and they have ignored me. Worst customer service ever. If you pay full price, maybe they will actually be nice to you like the other two reviews so far say. But DO NOT buy the Groupon--they will treat you like garbage outright. On the bright side, I had a great Groupon experience with Global Boarding in Sag Harbor, and will definitely be going back there for future SUP experiences. read more

I had a frustrating experience trying to redeem a Groupon with these guys. They told me to make a reservation via their online reservation system, even though the type of Groupon I had purchased wasn't even one of the options in their system. Nonetheless, I made a reservation for the closest match I could find, over a week in advance, and received an official-looking (but obviously automated) confirmation via email. To make a long story short, I emailed them the day before my trip was to take place to confirm the time and location (having received no response to an earlier email), and they responded by saying that my reservation was "not valid," so don't bother showing up, with no explanation why and no apology. Fortunately, Groupon issued me a refund after I complained to them. I would never do business with these shady characters. read more

I used the Groupon for a 1-hour lesson in Cold Spring Harbor and it was awesome! The 2 guys were there early and had all the equipment unloaded, with the right number of paddles and life vests for everyone. The guy even lent us his sunscreen and allowed us to keep our car keys in his car while we paddled. The paddle guide was very chill and helpful and talkative, but also just let us explore the harbor on our own. It was great just kind of paddling wherever we felt like but also being given tips on how to go fast, to steer, etc. read more

This company is a complete scam. Ten friends and I each bought Groupons and made reservations weeks in advance. The reservations were confirmed via email. We showed up the day of the reservation, which was a 40-minute drive for most of us, and they lied and said we needed to fill out the waivers at least 24 hours in advance. This was never communicated to us and it does not state this on their website. They were taking walk-up customers who were paying full price. Please stay away! read more

The worst customer service experience I have ever had in the USA. My dealings with Will and this company were nothing short of disappointing. There was a frightening lack of professionalism and false promises. They wouldn't respond to email, text or phone calls over a 10 day period after promising a no quibble return policy. Strongly recommend you find alternative options. read more

0 stars for this place!!!!! It was a horrible experience. Not only did they waste my gas & money, I spent TWO hours trying to locate them in vain!! DO NOT use this company even if it is through Groupon or Living Social. They supposedly have 2 locations with a 'mobile office.' I made my reservation online like the prompt on the number listed instructed me to do. It stated my lesson was at one location. I arrived 30 minutes early and waited for someone to show up. I waited 20 minutes before assuming the lesson was at the other location. I drove to the other location and there was no one there either. I, again, returned to the original location and still, no one in sight. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!! I am not one to go through the trouble of rating a place but I felt compelled to do so with this company. I tried calling them several times every day to confirm the location to make sure and no one ever picked up the phone. It was a cell phone with a full voice mailbox so I couldn't even leave a message. I made a reservation through another company and a staff member ACTUALLY had the common decency to call me back. I love how this company went through the trouble of posting HALF of my email to them but were conniving enough to omit the OTHER HALF where I point out their lack of professionalism for customers, which they have yet to admit. Yes, I made the mistake of not confirming the date when I received the confirmation emails so I will admit to THAT error on my part but their lack of responsibility to their customers is still there. They ignored my phone calls for over a week and when I emailed them my complaint and told them I would notify Groupon as well, they immediately actually CALLED me and left a not-so-nice and bordering on threatening message telling me I "should SERIOUSLY RECONSIDER what I wrote to Groupon." Then they proceeded to bombard me with the same tone emails. So while it was my fault for not checking the date on the confirmation emails, they did not conduct themselves in a professional manner thereafter, which just reinforced what I thought of them initially. I bought a Groupon for sunset paddle boarding for 2 and tried making reservations on line as their phone message said was the only way to reserve but there was no option for the coupon package. I emailed and they scheduled us only to get an email very late the night before to say it was cancelled. It was due to weather so it was acceptable. We then rescheduled. A few hours before our excursion, I got a text saying it was cancelled with no explanation. I was ready to give up on this place but my husband still wanted to try paddle boarding. So I reluctantly rescheduled AGAIN. This time, I got another text just as I was about to drive there, saying it was cancelled because the sunset is earlier now. Come on now, is the time the sun sets a surprise all of a sudden?? Each time it was cancelled, I had already made babysitting arrangements so I am out the extra money from that too.
