Are here for lunch yesterday and it was delicious. The buffalo wing appetizer was great. They were crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside which was a perfect combination for a satisfied palate. I also had the crispy fried cod fish tacos and they didn't disappoint. The cabbage slaw with the avocado, chopped tomatoes and onions with the special sauce on the side was the perfect combination together. They could have gone less with the cabbage slaw and tomatoes because it caused the tortilla to get soggy at the bottom but other than that it was absolutely delicious. The service was fine but the gentleman behind the bar who served my table could have been a bit more engaged and attentive but he was too busy chatting up a couple who appeared to be regulars and thus was a bit disengaged. I would definitely go again to try the chili a/cheese, nachos with chili and cheese, fish and chips, and a few other menu items that looked intriguing. read more

I never thought I would be leaving a negative review for this restaurant because I've been coming here for more than 10 years. The food has always been great, which is why I've remained a loyal customer. Unfortunately, the service has gone downhill. Two weeks ago, I noticed the music was so loud that it made it difficult to have a conversation. We also waited far too long before anyone came to our table. To make matters worse, our order was missing a dish, and instead of checking on it, the red-haired woman seemed more interested in showing pictures from her phone to the table next to us than making sure our order was complete. I've also came here to watch almost every world cup soccer game, and in the past the staff were always very accommodating. They would put the game on the big projector and let us hear it through the overhead sound system, which made for a great experience. During one of the last games however, we asked if the sound could be switched to the soccer match like it had been before. The server refused to lower the music and would only let us hear the TV's own speakers, which were impossible to hear over the loud music. It felt like customer experience was no longer a priority. Yesterday was the final straw. I came in with a friend, and the server was sitting at the front scrolling through her phone. She didn't acknowledged us until the bartender noticed we were trying to get someone's attention. I've supported this restaurant for over a decade, so it's disappointing to see the level of service decline like this. Is there new management? I truly hope someone addresses these issues because the food is still excellent, but the customer service no longer matches the quality of the restaurant. read more

Service is slow and awful and food is just below decent. They say they have no menus but I've been there before and they do have menus for drinks. They charge you for drinks you don't like and had asked to trade. I literally had a sip and a half and could not drink it as it was beyond bitter. Stopped in for the first time for lunch. It's adorable inside! They have a nice combination lunch or you can pick out half a sandwich, salad or a soup which was very attractive to us! I ordered an open face tuna sandwich with the Mexican salad, and my friend got the French onion soup with the Mexican salad. The soup was rich and delicious, with lots of cheese melted on top. I really liked the open face tuna, which was fresh and quite tasty. The salad, wasn't really a salad, but reminded me of nachos minus the chips. We were the only people sitting outside, so I politely asked them if they could turn down the music a little, because I am hearing impaired. What a bad experience here. I can't believe they call this an Irish bar. Dirty beer lines, horrible food. The people who own this bar are unfriendly and uninviting. If your aren't a regular, you aren't welcome in this dirty bar. My friends and I came here to celebrate a birthday and felt like outcast. The old grumpy bartender gave us an attitude for having a good time. He didn't even know how to pour a Guinness properly and it tasted as if he did a number in it. Fantastic evening! After looking for something that was still open after 9:00 pm I stopped at Stephen's Green. I enjoyed this amazing salad with grilled chicken. I wish every place I order grilled chicken would serve this way. It was amazing!! While enjoying my late dinner I had the privilege to be seating next to the owner John who so delightfully engaged me into a lovely conversation. John and his friend made my night after a very long day of work. Even after the kitchen closed he went out of his way to make a salad for my daughter who was hungry back at the hotel. Not only had I a lovely dinner and amazing company and engaging conversation. We had been here a few times pre Covid and really enjoyed it. Just had delivery tonight and we were "wow'd". Super fast, hot and most importantly DELICIOUS food. I ordered the penne a la vodka and cursed myself after I placed the order. I felt like an idiot ordering "Italian food" from an "Irish pub". It was absolutely perfect!!!Very impressed. Stephens Green is a great new find for us. They have a nice interior with big bar although this trip the outdoor patio was the big selling point for us. Comfy chairs, with a nice overhead tent with fans. We enjoyed our meals very much and really liked the eclectic menu that will bring us back for more. We shared the chicken francese with mashed potatoes which was very good. A Thai chicken panini with salad and appetizer of mozzarella sticks. The mozz sticks were crunchy and gooey just the way they should be and hardly ever are at other restaurants. Panini was yummy with a Thai chili sauce, red onions, grilled chicken and arugula. I liked that you could substitute a salad instead of fries at no additional cost. The salad was a good mix of mesclun along with frisee and the honey mustard dressing was delish. Well what can I say it sucked all the way My wife and I met our friends there for dinner last night horrible experience The staff is about as friendly as gum on the bottom of my shoe. We ordered drinks and the waitress was no help at all with the wine the ladies wanted. When we ordered I ordered a burger rare it tasted like horse meat over cooked very little fries to accompany the burger as well the waitress never came by to asked how the meal was going. I would give it a 0 if I could. I literally just left 9:20pm on 11/9/18 My partner and I were having a glass of wine, when we suddenly saw a pitcher thrown from one of tables to the bar. There were 2 people sitting at the bar were the pitcher was thrown. The bartender didn't catch the pitcher, (the bartender is a young white tall male,with short hair) so it bounced to the bar were it hit a glass and the glass ended up in the floor and broke into pieces. In between two people that were sitting at the bar. (A young male and and older Female) The bartender didn't seem apologetic at all to those people to our surprised. Then saw one of the customers that was almost hit with the pitcher and the broken glass respectfully complaining to a lady of long hair (not sure if she was the manager) and this lady has very arrogant to the lady customer and told her that she wasn't a regular at the bar so it wouldn't matter if she wasn't coming to the establishment anymore. Due to the fact that she didn't get hit therefore there was nothing to complain. We decided to speak up to explain what had happened, because one it wasn't safe, and we felt that they weren't being fair to the lady customer that respectfully complained. To our surprise, we were told that the regulars usually throw pitchers in the air and it is ok. *_* so we decided to leave because we do not think anyone should be throwing things in the air while drinking, It is not safe. So my advise to you is... if you want to take a shot at regulars throwing things at the bartenders and the managers that could possibly injure you, this is the bar to go to. Other wise STAY AWAY !! We told the lady with long red hair that we would put our experience on Yelp and that is when she finally showed abut of concern. I feel this is not a safe bar. I like in Tuckahoe I have been there before for a drink or two after 2am. But this is the last time I will step a foot in this dangerous bar. Stephen's Green is conveniently located a stone's throw away from my brother's apartment (and, incidentally, a stone's throw away from the Crestwood train station). Though I have eaten here three times already, I've never seen another patron in the pub while I've been there. Maybe the whole Irish pub thing hasn't picked up in Tuckahoe as much as it has in Yonkers. More likely, though, the throngs are going to Mickey Spillane's just up the road. Service is hit-or-miss. I went with my brother several years ago (again we were the ONLY TWO PEOPLE in the restaurant) and it took over an hour to get our meal ... the waitress was busy chatting and idling around. I haven't eaten here, but I have patronized the arts here. And watched someone eat. So it's like I've experienced it first hand. They have something like 2$ coronas and 5$ pitchers on wednesday nights. Not entirely certain if that is solely created for the "Live Scene at Stephen's Green" open mic night that they host every other wednesday- but it is irrelevant because that is really the only time to go anyways. The bar has two separate seating/mingling areas, one which is slightly raised where the performances take place. Those tables are great for groups and they have a smoking area out in the back- and may even have a functional patio...i'm unsure as it's still winter. And even better, if you perform, you get free drinks all night, so bring your friends and have them watch you make a fool out of yourself, and then drink your memories away. read more
