I had an outstanding wedge here. I decided to try an eggplant Parm wedge and it was on the perfect seeded roll. The eggplant was sliced really thin the way I like it and it was cheesy and just delicious! The staff is really friendly and they chat with you. They also have a hot food bar at the end. Didn't know Mamaroneck would have a place of this quality. No offense to Mamaroneck but I didn't peg it as an old school italian town. This is your classic deli that checks off all boxes. They have italians running the show and they are even speaking the language with the customers. It is always a good sign when the bread comes from terranova bakery which is a top quality bakery near Arthur Ave. The sesame seed long roll is the way to go. I ordered a chicken cutlet sandwich with american, roasted peppers, and balsamic. It was one of the best sandwiches I have had in a while. So good. I also tried the chicken salad sandwich and it was good but I would stick to the italian sandwiches next time. I want to try the fried eggplant sandwich too. This is one of those places you have to check out when in the area. Portions are big and prices are right too. You don't find too many of these places anymore but glad I did. read more

The fresh burrata was great as well as the pre packaged crostini. Just be aware of beverages and check expiration. My wife ended up drinking a 10 YEAR OLD bottle of Acqua Panna. Classic neighborhood Italian deli where you can get hot food, sandwiches, cold cuts and huge variety of canned and dry goods. Based on the advice of a friend, I opted for a hero, wedge, sub or whatever slang term you use in your culture. The sandwich itself was kind of standard fare with the usual variety of cold cuts and cheese. Condiments were pretty standard as well. All in all, a fairly ordinary sandwich. As it was close to lunch time, there was a nice sized crowd at the counter, with some folks ordering multiple items and some who sounded like they were ordering for a couple of meals to be cooked at home. This is one helluva Italian deli. First off, they have everything you need. Everything. They make great sandwiches. I am not sure where they get their bread, but man its good. But aside from having an incredibly wide selection of super high end goods, they are just awesome people. Every time I go I wind up chatting with whoever it is at the counter. I was already sold on this place hook line and sinker, than last Sunday I ran in because I was a can of tomatoes short for my Sunday sauce.....they were closing down, lights off, the whole shebang. I told the guy who was locking up I just needed one can of tomatoes. I didn't have cash on me and the credit card machine was down. He just told me to grab a can and pay him the next time (don't worry, I won't forget). That little 3 dollar gesture means more to me than anything a shop keeper can do. read more

I went in for the 1st time and got a Pat's Special (roast beef, American cheese, lettuce, tomato, mayo on a hero) for $7.75. Came on a fresh, soft, sesame hero roll. Not toasted where the crust scratches the roof of your mouth. Roast beef was sliced nice and thin so every bite was tasty and soft. No stringy roast beef pieces and lettuce was finely shredded. This place was recommended by a local because I wanted red, moist roast beef. When I ordered a sandwich, there was no acknowledgement from the worker looking right at me. I waited patiently and another older man asked me for my order. When I tried to explain I think my order has been placed, he cut me off rudely and asked the lady next to me. Another younger man asked who was next so I explained I had placed my order but had no acknowledgement that they heard it so he took my order. The older man kept giving me dirty looks. I know people have bad days, but I felt bad for this grouch who lashes out at hesitant customers behind the safety of his counter. Communication and politeness go a long way in this competitive world. When I opened the wrapper on the sandwich, the roast beef was brown and dry. Everyone in Mamaroneck when you ask about a place to try, they recommend Cosmo & Alex Pisano Bros deli! So we had to try it too! I think the food is quite good once you can get to the counter to order. They have several named sandwiches on the board (once you can find those) and then you can always customize your own too. They also have a great variety of pre cooked foods you can get in a box to go. I had a custom sandwich and it was alrite -- I was surprised that the hot peppers didn't have any taste to them. My husband got some pasta salad and a wrap and he liked his food. I wouldn't say it's a place you have to try but I can see why the locals like it.
