Some of the broccoli rabe was a little tough to chew, but not too bad. It was topped with a generous portion of cheese. I loved the tender mushrooms. My husband got the cozze. The portion of mussels was large and he enjoyed the sauce. We also shared the cinnamon french toast, which was delicious. It didn't even need syrup as it was perfectly sweet with the cream and berries on top. Even so, they had several syrups to choose from including amber and maple. This review is divided for now. My friend got cheese slices. They're big, thin, covered just right in cheese - win. Crust just the right toasty to hold the slice up. Classic NY pizza we got here - everyone in Fairfield County should visit. I peeked over at the other table and they had Sicilian slices that also look legit, if that's your thing. Plenty of cheese, soft crust, all that. Then there's my side. I had looked at the BBQ place next door and decided "nah, too contrived", so when I discovered the neat-looking slices on their platter were BBQ chicken, I went for them. Well, they actually didn't come out that hot. The thickness of the meat probably got in the way. Then there's the fact they were white slices (since BBQ sauce gets in the way of tomato sauce), but not hepped up with ricotta or other white cheese inside. I'd make those suggestions for improvement. There are also some other bizarre slices on offer - they're not afraid of variety! I'd steer clear of the salad pizza though. I just told him no to the microwave but yes, toast the hero bread. I also asked for him to put out chipotle mayo on the sandwich. Hubby's sandwich was simple: honey turkey, American cheese, lettuce, tomato and regular mayo on a hero. Not hot. I came straight home and both of my guys ate their sandos. I wasn't feeling a sandwich so I did not order anything. Thank goodness. Fast-forward to last night. Hubby was sick all night until the following day (today). We think it might have been the mayonnaise or the lettuce, which would make sense because my son was fine. He had not lettuce on his sandwich and had a different mayo. It definitely could not have been anything else that he ate because he did not eat anything else that day that was out of the ordinary. I was not sure about ordering food from this deli and I should have listened to my gut but because I saw a good amount of people come in and I odder food, I figured that they might have improved. Never again. If the deli see this review, please check your fridge temps, expiration dates and produce for contamination.

This deli is packed with some good foods imported from Italy and a ton of old stuff...which is just sitting there. Be extra careful at buying pasta, coffee, olive oil, olive and so on...and check the expiration dates. But the most disappointing thing is the staff: quite frankly i have never seen a bunch of thieves like them packed all in one place. This cast of characters include: a south-american looking guy who is actually looking at you while ringing your check...i guess he's trying to figure out the best way to rip you off: if you don't pay attention he will charge you more that you owe. An eastern european guy who know absolutely nothing about italian food. nonetheless he's the only honest one... then the all time worst: an italian kid usually wearing a smart hat or some sort of cool clothing. this guy is an outright thief, constantly charging you more that you owe. i have double checked my bill and he has overcharged me EVERY TIME. at first i thought it was a mistake...just a a few dollars...no big deal. i didn't confront him. but then he did it again 2 times in a row and while i chose not to confront this piece of you know what, i am simply NEVER going back there. they don't deserve my time or aggravation and certainly not my $$$. You have to wonder who runs this place and let his staff do this... Luckily, De Cicco Grocery Store recently opened in Harrison...fresh goods, that actually move, great staff and great selection from Italy...and they do not rob you... I really hope they drive Cosmo and Pisano out of business...they deserve it. Don't go there...period read more

Have eaten here many times and have always been happy but today I was grossed out. While ordering my food I observed a mouse run across the floor from where soda is kept to behind the counter. I tried to not be obvious about it or to grossed out and continued my order and then I saw a second mouse run from under counter towards the shelfs. I understand things happen and did not make a scene, I paid my $36 dollars and walked out. I ended up throwing the food away. Again, I understand things happen but if mice are running around in middle of day with 10 people standing around I can only imagine what is going on when place is closed. If they clean up the place I will gladly return but am now totally disgusted. read more

My favorite sandwich they have I created myself. It's called the "sliced edge" it is a healthier version of their famous Cutting Edge sandwich. The sliced edge substitutes the breaded chicken cutlet for grilled chicken and melted mozzarella on a whole wheat panini. It is a bit narrow entering and it is encouraged that you call in your orders ahead of time so that it is ready for you by the time you get there. This place can get very busy at lunch time because most people looking for a good sandwich will come here.
