We should have gone to the diner. I should have ordered a simple burger. We should have gone somewhere else. Those were the thoughts running through our heads while dining at Bar 141. Our waitress was lovely, but the atmosphere felt confused -- part bar, part restaurant -- and it didn't really match the menu. I ordered the chopped Greek salad, which didn't taste Greek at all, including the dressing. My son ordered the half chicken, though it looked more like two dry chicken pieces than an actual half chicken. My wife had the chicken bowl, which was just okay. We tried Tuesday music bingo again First time it was good. 2nd time a disaster I ordered a pricey bottle of wine and we ordered 2 appetizers. The bartender ripped the cork out of the bottle and started filling our glasses like she was filling up water glasses. Once she poured the first glass, she put us on pay us no mind mode, and never poured us any more wine from the bottle. She was definitely not trained well for her job. Stopped in on a Saturday night to hear music and had a fabulous dinner and evening. The band was "Seeing Red", an 80s rock and disco throwback band. Excellent! Everybody was dancing. The crowd was fun. We started off with the mussels in a white wine broth, which were plump and delicious. For entrées, we ordered a pasta dish with asparagus and peas, and a vodka sauce, and a bacon cheeseburger minus the bun with a salad. The pasta was excellent, homemade and perfect. The burger was juicy and delicious and hit the spot. Drinks were really tasty and we tried some blueberry lemonade, martinis and margaritas. 3.75 stars. We went to this restaurant to see the FDR music group on a Saturday night in April. The staff was particularly warm and accommodating- both management and our server. The F&B offerings were solid if not special. Brussels sprouts were a bit over sauced and the 1lb meatball should probably be retired as it is too unyieldly to cook correctly. My pasta special with sausage, mushrooms and home made pasta was good as was the brazinno special. Wine and cocktails were fine. Nothing really stood out as special. Went in with some friends to see a band and have some snacks and enjoy some amazing crafted cocktails made by one of Westchester's premier Bartender, Franco. We've been bragging about his talents ever since we had the pleasure of his service when he worked for The Castle in Tarrytown. We've been his "groupie" for years and go visit him anywhere when we can. To my surprise, I come to find out he's no longer there. While asking around the many repeat customers I recognize and know from around the way, that are there just like me to recieve a carefully crafted libation by this master of a bartender, but are told he's there no more. I was told by multiple people, while asking around that they let him go because the owner felt he wasn't young enough to attract the college crowd from the area. Can you believe this? 141 has been known to be an upscale newly remodeled place with no drunken knuckleheads and packed with mature and professional clientele who clearly have money and especially came because they were known for their outstanding Bartenders. We come here because there are no beer and shot shooting kids, but now? OMG. Now the vibe has shifted to a college party house with yoga pant wearing female bartenders who take frequent cigarette breaks. The cheap perfume to cover that god awful smell is unappealing to say the least. My Cosmo had way too much cranberry and not what I'm used to. Terrible compared to Franco's. Why would you replace a high level Mixologist with gum chewing, cigarette smelling females with exposed bellies? What are you trying to accomplish? Are you making too much money and now want to make less? Sadly our favorite bartender is no longer there. Once we find out where he is, I will post it here for all his followers to know. Regretfully have to post this review. When this place first opened the food was excellent. The portion was a good size and the quality was perfect for a go to spot. Within the last few weeks it's has gotten bad. I ordered chicken sandwich to go from here and you couldn't see the chicken. I mean the chicken was so small that the bun and everything else overtook it. The chicken was the size of say the top of a soda can. It was good so I didn't say anything and figured I'd give them another chance. I ordered a beet salad and that was the nail in the coffin for me. I was in the restaurant business for over 25 years and would never not ever seen a place sell something like this. The arugula was old and tough definitely something you would never serve. Guys, guys, guys- I know.....if you ever ate at the original Gordo's with its 1970s old timey feel- like I have, you'd be addicted too. But "claustrophobic atmosphere"? "Rotten food"? Where? I'm still confused with all the negative write ups here. To ease your mind, Gordo's North is actually the complete opposite in every sense of the word- but in a good way. Still run by the same owners, Gordo's North is tucked on the left side of a Thornwood strip mall. This place is dominated by a top-to-bottom chic design, a handful of two-top tables, huge bar, regular tables along with a Bistro-ish menu. By the way- there's a private dining room- not sure about size. Our server Herb(v?) was very accommodating to my many requests : no mustard, no cheese, etc...Thank you! Plus he was so freaking pleasant! I really don't know what's good here- but hubs' medium rare NY Strip was cooked to his liking. I initially wanted a Veggie Burger- but Gordo's North slacked on it. I mean...who doesn't offer at least a Veggie Burger nowadays? Shishito starter was good and my Salmon-topped Kale Salad was good too- I was just hoping it was the curly kale instead of the flat leaf. I was a regular at Gordo's North, being there every Wednesday for trivia. I, along with a friend, decided to try this new revival on a Saturday night. I was not thrilled. Gordo's had a nice menu with reasonable prices. This new operation has a menu that is not as extensive (less choices), and the prices are much higher. What really bothered me is this: my friend had a margarita on the rocks. Would you believe that this place charged $2.00 EXTRA because the drink was served with ice? Are you f***ing kidding me? A surcharge for ICE? I will NEVER to go back to this restaurant. Oh yeah, the food was mediocre and the service was slow. I came, I ate, I'm not returning. read more

At first when you plug it into the gps with google it's so random spot that isn't even Gordos North. So we ended up at the wrong place which happened to be closed but when u click on the directions from yelp it was another 10m or so away In side a plaza area. The inside is pleasantly really nice nothing like you would expect pulling up to the plaza. They had a family friendly menu nice tv screens to watch the game and enough space to accommodate are large group of 12 The staff was really nice Food was good They don't have a change table for babies but since they were pretty quiet at the time we were there they were able to accommodate for a space which was great. As we were leaving ppl were rolling in for the their dinner menu. So you can tell it gets busy in there at certain times. read more

My wife and I live down the street and decided to give Bar 141 a try. Seeing as most strip mall restaurants can be hit or miss, we were pleasantly surprised by how nice and welcoming the interior is. There is a large/well stocked bar and plenty of seating for sporting events or just a busy night. The first thing that struck me was how welcoming and informative our waitress was. Throughout the meal, she ensured that we were always ok on everything. I ordered the Jalepeño Cheeseburger which I very much enjoyed. We also got the Black & Blue Fries (cajun seasoning and blue cheese) which I would recommend as well. My wife ordered the special (Lobster Spaghetti) and really enjoyed her meal as well. It's rare that she eats all of it, and she did so without issue. Definitely recommend giving Bar 141 a try. As we live down the street, this will now be in our regular rotation. read more

You know you are in trouble when the best thing on the table is a large pretzel! While I was never at the original Gordos, my family and I decided we wanted to try someplace new for dinner. Had read about this place opening and after reading the reviews here on yelp, figured we were in for a solid meal. Rarely does yelp disappoint but tonight it did! Nice looking, upscale bar type place in a strip mall. Plenty of TVs to watch a game...certainly had potential. Service was ok, but the food was a huge disappointment! We started with the meatballs, which were awful! So much so we sent them back. Ordered nachos which for the price should have been much bigger and more impressive. Instead we got a plate of bland nachos covered in what I can only describe as a mix of "liquid" cheese and other cheese. We also had the wings which I have to say were solid, but nothing outrageous. The arugula salad was tasty but overloaded and soaked with dressing. Chicken scarp - one of the dishes that I use to judge the quality of an Italian restaurant. Wait, this wasn't an Italian restaurant....shame on me! However, it was listed as a house speciality type of dish. Should have stuck with something basic instead?! It was a nice sized portion but in no way worthy of a great or even good chicken scarp. Chicken was a bit dry, dish lacked zip and flavor. The hot peppers saved the dish from a total bust but My opinion...less than average. Sliders - came 3 to an order and were good, not great. The only positives were the sliders, wings and large pretzel. So many places in Westchester similar to this with much better food! read more

Located in a strip mall with plenty of free parking is this new gem of a place. We all missed old Gordos and I was to excited to try Gordos North. Wow! What an upgrade from the old Gordos. It was well lit, clean, diverse crowd. Only issues ive had were with food orders not coming with the sides i asked for which happened both times ive went. Also we got the wrong wing flavor and when I asked for all flats I didnt get all flats. Other then that the food is delicious. I am assuming these little mistakes are only because they just opened and they'll get in their flow. I will be returning. Happy hour is from 4-7 monday - friday. The wings are delicious. Its been crowded every time ive gone. Bartenders are great. This may just be my new spot! I hope they get the nfl package! read more

I joined my lady friends for a girls dinner and we were pleasantly surprised by the beautiful atmosphere inside. We sat at a corner booth and found it very comfortable. I recommend the Thai meatballs and Spring rolls !! Those were so tasty. I ordered the chicken Milanese with arugula and it was delicious, my friends were happy with their burger,a kale salad and a shrimp sandwich ! Over all the menu has something for everyone! When I was growing up, I've been to this place a along time ago way back when it used to called Finnegan's Grill. It had good food, but not the best I think, I don't know. Fast forward through the original Gordos relocating to Town Center after that Greek place whatever it's called which 1st replaced Finnegan's shut down just after it got off its feet, my parents took my brother and I to THIS Gordo's just last week. Our food we got was better then we expected it to be, but the only reason why I'm giving this place 3 stars is because my brother ordered arugula salad, and no one told him that they ran out of arugula leaves so the chefs replaced it with spinach leaves. And my brother got preeeeetty upset about it. Putting that aside, the sliders I had were great. I love them. As an assistant sous chef myself, I recommend that you should try this place out...but only if they promise you to put the right ingredients inside their foods. read more

What they make is a Westchester County Cheesesteak - garlicky strips of chewy NY Strip steak that doesn't resemble any Philly Cheesesteak I have had growing up in Philly. Topped with orange AMERICAN cheese. Philly cheesesteaks are thinly sliced, almost shavings of ribeye with cheese whiz or Provolone. Chef should learn how to make an authentic Philly Cheesesteak and then I will go back and also promote it. read more

We had often been to the original Gordos and was excited to welcome back an old friend, now Gordo's North. We walked in on a Wednesday night and it was packed! It had reopened the day before. Instead of waiting for a table, we had been told at least a 30 min wait, we decided to eat dinner at the bar. No regrets. We ordered a beer and a cocktail both chilled and enjoyable. As an appetizer we ordered buffalo wings. They were part bbq sauce and part traditional buffalo sauce. The serving was large and delicious! For dinner I ordered the Chicken Milanese, which had plenty of delicious crunchy chicken cutlets and topped with a mixed green salad which was perfectly dressed. My husband ordered their version of a French Dip, which he enjoyed but would have preferred the roast beef be warmed up, it was cold. We really enjoyed our evening and look forward to many more meals back at Gordo's North! read more

Recently went here for the first time and I was very impressed with this "hidden gem." Tucked away in a shopping center, the food was absolutely amazing! I ordered the wings and the filet mignon and my husband had a salad and a pasta. Both were great. With the large backroom closed off the dining area becomes small - an extension of the loud bar area. Be prepared to yell. It's basic but somewhat expensive comfort food here. I have to admit, I was not a frequent patron of Gordos, but when I did go I appreciated the old town feel, friendly service, good food, and good prices. Gordos North is much nicer, they did a nice job on the place. The service was friendly and attentive. However, it's now just another trendy, upscale pub. The type that are becoming a dime-a-dozen in the area. So it needs to be compared on that level, where it's seems just average. The food was ok, I actually liked the original Gordos burgers better than the one I had at North, and for about 1/2 the price. There are just too many similar places around that offer comparable or better options, so three stars it is. I wish them great success, though I suspect the fad will fade, unlike the original. read more
