I really enjoyed my lunch here! They have lunch specials with are fantastic. I got the tomato soup with half a chicken Parm wedge. It was really delicious. Loved the soup! It hit the spot. I've been to this place many times and I usually have very few complaints. I would never consider this place a 5 star bar/restaurant but has decent bar food. On this day I guess we just started on the wrong foot. The hostess/waitress seems to have an attitude when I asked to for a table on the bar side, she mumbled something under her breath. We ordered wings as an appetizer and burgers for main. The burgers came out before the appetizer, ( No big deal. The waiter took it back to the kitchen, hopefully to keep them warm.) Another 10 minutes and the wings came out. 3 of the wings appeared to have what looked like feathers still attached. We lost our appetite. That's all I had for dinner and the next day I was admitted to Phelps Hospital because of food poisoning. thankfully, none of my coworkers had the nachos. This is one of those mixed bag reviews. I want to like this place because I literally live a block up the hill from it. We've only been once, but here's our experience: Walking up, the place is cute. It's partially made of train cars. When you walk in, the bar side, on the right, looks lively and fun. We were seated in the dining room, on the left of entry. The lighting is cozy, and seeing the trains pass by during the meal is neat, but this place is in serious need of a style update. So many fixtures and accents felt like 1980's Southern Living home decor party buys. But we weren't there for the decor, we wanted burgers. We were there later in the evening. There were probably a couple of hours before they closed, so we're not sure if that "end of the day" feel contributed to any of this. To start out, our waitress "was one word" woman. She took our orders and brought our food and drinks, but there was not much interaction, and the little there was, was cold. The burger I had was a barbeque burger and the sauce was good. I enjoyed the burger and the bacon jam. You can order fries, onion rings, or a mix of both. I went for both, but only got 2 onion rings. The onion rings were awesome and next time I'll get those only. The burger my husband had was just your basic burger with basic fixings. My husband is not a picky eater and likes just about everything, so when he told me he was not enjoying it, I was shocked. Mine was so good. Then he gave me a bite if his burger meat alone. It had absolutely no flavor, and the burgers there are flame grilled. He was almost convinced it was plant based. I told home I didn't understand because my burger was good; Rich and smokey. Then I tasted my burger meat alone and realized that the only thing making the burger good were the strong flavors of the add-ons which I had selected. The local lagers we had were great. They have a great drink menu. So... This was the only time we've been here. We are going to go back because 1. It's only a block walk away. And 2. Sometimes places just have an off night. Always passes by this place and finally got the chance to try it for dinner. What's cute about this place is that is close to the train tracks and if you get seated by the windows you get to see it. I am from CT but when I am in NY and in this area I make it a point to go here. Food has always been good and portions are large and fair priced. There is a bar area and a separate table area and is family friendly. Service is good. Last night Willie was my server and he is excellent. I've had him before along with another woman Nicole as server's and I ask for them in hopes they are on that night. The staff is great no matter who you get. I ve Been there in a large group with family (about 25 people) and we all were served together and food was great. Go there hungry and you won't be disappointed. BEWARE THEY DOUBLE BOOK and you'll end up with nowhere to go! We booked a month in advance of our party and three days before the event the restaurant called to say they "forgot they had a funeral group that day" and wanted to move our group to a room that we specifically said we did not want - too small - no windows - high traffic area - . We had these reservations for a month and if they had been honest i might have reconsidered - but i didnt believe the "forgot a funeral" excuse - and the food wasn't that great anyway. Why did my check have an added .99 for a processing fee. I paid Cash, and this was added into the bill without them knowing that I was paying cash. This place has always been amazing! The food is always really good and the service was always nice. It's really fun to be able to eat lunch or dinner in a caboose of an old train. The area itself is just nice and it's literally right next to the train so if you're sitting in the right moment you can see the train pass by right outside the window. Inside it's really rustic looking and it's just overall really nice. Highly recommend sitting in the caboose as it's just a nice little experience. It's really great for kids! read more

Overall good experience! Lots of bar food options at moderate prices. We sat in the bar around 6:30pm on a Monday night. Parking was a little crazy as the restaurant is right next to the train station and shares a parking lot. The entire restaurant shakes when the train goes by...which is a unique feature. We were seated promptly. Happy hour is available from 3pm-7pm Only from the bartender. There were both drink and food specials however I can't remember the specifics. We ordered nachos for an app and a sandwich (the name started with a K...it was the first one on the list). The nachos were super cheesy with actually shredded cheese and not liquid cheese! The chicken sandwich was good with grilled onions avacado and cheese. Sweet potato fries were $2 more however they were delicious. Overall, good service and experience!
