We started looking for a horse and we heard from her that she had a horse that fit our description so we went and looked at the horse and he was literally everything we were told he was and more! I recently contacted Lazy Oaks to inquire about a trail horse. Josie was very transparent on the…read morephone and explained their procedures clearly, which I appreciated. However, the program ultimately wasn't a fit for me. The main concern was that, despite the horses being advertised as seasoned trail mounts, buyers are not allowed to ride them on the trail--or even observe them being ridden outside of a round pen--due to their stated insurance limitations. As someone with many years of riding experience, including training through Grand Prix dressage and purchasing horses through top professionals, I have never encountered a restriction like this when evaluating a horse represented as a trail horse. I respect that every operation has its own policies, but for buyers specifically looking for a trail-safe horse, it's important to know that you will only be able to evaluate a horse inside a round pen. The program may work well for some, but it wasn't aligned with what I need to feel confident in a purchase.

I always liked the idea of riding a horse but was always afraid I would fall off and break a few…read morebones. Being completely new I needed someone with a TON of patience. I took lessons at a few other places and couldn't seem to find the right person with the right amount of patience for me (yes I'm that difficult) . I finally got in touch with Amy over at Hanover saddle club and she was able to get me started right away even with my difficult schedule. She was so patient with me, and her love and knowledge about horses was far beyond anything I ever knew. First lesson she let me ride cute little domino (princess pony). It was perfect because I was still not comfortable getting on the big horses - still afraid of falling off. Domino was just the right size for me and she is just so adorable. Now that I have become more comfortable with this horsey stuff I bring my daughter and husband with me for lessons and we all go out on the trails and it is absolutely beautiful with the sunset! Now my 9 year old is riding domino, and my husband loves slack. Currently I'm riding jazz- he is a must ride horse! When you visit please tell Amy I sent you to ride jazz you will love him!!!! Kids need to listen to instructions for their own safety. My daughter absolutely loved her lesson and had the best time. Every instruction came with an explanation and my daughter listened and did her best better herself. She has asked me multiple times to go back and definitely will be a few times per month. Life is tough and people aren't nice in the world. Strict coaching will prepare them for the future.

If you start for Killen road then the first portion is very shady with lots of oak trees. We enjoyed this portion immensely but once the valley opened up and the chaparral changed we turned around.
