We interviewed several companies, but Sterling offered us the best price and an assuring vibe. We told them we were planning to take a moving truck with our own goods ahead of time, and they estimated we'd still need a 26-foot truck plus a trailer. Their assessment ended up being dead-on. On moving day, the crew arrived right on time at 8am. We first met the two gentlemen who would be hauling our goods all the way to Minnesota from Arizona, then the rest of the packers. They were all incredibly nice, hardworking young men. We noticed how the more experienced workers actively mentored one of the new guys, and encouragement and praise were common through the crew. We also really appreciated that they took breaks every 2 to 1.5 hours to cool off and drink water; we were moving in late May and the day was getting hot fast. They were making an effort to work efficiently yet safely, and it showed. We'd made a big effort to pack all of our smaller goods to avoid the $35-per-box-packed fee. Therefore, we didn't have any extra fees attached. The movers handled our larger framed artwork and furniture with care, using many blankets and lots of plastic wrap. We exchanged cell phone numbers with the drivers and were told we'd get texts from them each afternoon with their locations for the night. They kept this promise. It was a great comfort to know they were making steady progress on their cross-country drive. On delivery day, they arrived a touch early--not a problem to us! The guys went to work unloading. We provided guidance as they staged everything through the new home. Once the truck was empty, they engaged in the necessary yet tedious work of reassembling furniture. They made an effort to tidy as well, picking up any plastic wrap and neatly stowing their packing blankets. Sterling Interstate did a great job. Excellent! We were moving back to the Phoenix area after being displaced from the CA wildfires. So, needless to say we were not in our right minds with months of navigating the situation, let alone having moving suddenly foisted upon us. We called upwards of a dozen different movers in both states and got quotes mostly in the same ballpark, but talking with JB gave me a real sense of calm. He kindly answered all of my questions and actually had some of his own to get a clear sense of what lay before him. This was especially appreciated given how lucky we were to have belongings that were able to be moved at all. Despite contacting the company and patiently waiting for a response, I was met with disbelief and no concrete solution. It is unacceptable to pay for a service only to be stolen from, and a mere apology is not sufficient. I demand a proper resolution to this matter immediately. I know these gentlemen were in my nightstand drawers, because stockings that I had purchased that I thought I misplaced mysteriously ended up in an empty second drawer of this nightstand, because they had fallen out of the drawer and fell to the bottom so when moved they opened the drawer to to put them back in....only I had taken all of the clothing items out of the bottom two drawers so that it was not as heavy but did not empty the top drawer clearly - my mistake. read more

Awesome moving company - so grateful to have found Elliott, Nanci & the team at Sterling Interstate!! We used them to move from the Coachella Valley in CA to our new build in Desert Hills, AZ. I wanted a local company who could it in two days and they really delivered. Elliiott drove out and looked at our new place first to make sure they could figure out unloading there & did a Zoom with me in CA to get an idea of our belongings & what our rental house looked like. His price was very good, but what really sold me was the info they sent with it - a binding estimate, copies of insurance and licenses and lots of blogs with moving tips. They were in communication throughout. On the day before the move began, Cody our driver called to let me know they were starting the drive out. And he let me know a five hours later that they were close by & would see us bright and early in the morning. They actually arrived 20 minutes early! We just had him & a helper, but they got it all loaded up and took off for AZ at lunchtime. They next morning they were again a few minutes early to our new home & worked hard to find a place to park the truck, which ended up being on the street & they dollied everything up and into our place. They put everything where we asked & set up beds (2) and a big screen TV too. Hard workers. Also, Elliott stands by everything & reimbursed us within 24 hours for some rather minor damage that our old landlords assessed. Much appreciated this & it was very minimal in nature.
