Sterling Street Brewery is a craft brewery that opened in Clinton, Massachusetts in October 2020. It was founded by longtime friends Brian Mason and Jesse Tarbell. Friends since high school, Mason and Tarbell have shared a passion for quality craft beer for quite some time. After years of visiting various breweries with their families and friends, the partners began serious talks about opening their own brewery. Not only did they aspire to open a brewery that featured a variety of beer styles, but also a family friendly taproom. Mason has an extensive background in homebrewing, and both partners have a background in business. Clinton was ultimately chosen as the location for their brewery because it lacked a family friendly brewery. A second location opened at Pathway Devens (a biomanufacturing campus operated by King Street Properties) in May 2024. I recently visited Sterling Street Brewery's original Clinton location for the first time. It was also the first time that I was meeting up a with a large group of New England-based craft beer bloggers/enthusiasts who frequently have meet-ups at breweries. The taproom was decent-sized with maybe 10 large tables available for seating. There were an additional 20 or so tables outside, but it was still a little too cold outside to utilize those. I would imagine that the patio area is popular during the warmer months. After grabbing some food from a food truck, I headed to the bar. I ordered a taster flight that featured "Newfound Pale" (Citra Pale Ale), "Otherwise" (New England IPA), "Michael Diamond" (New England IPA), and "Midnight Marauder" (Stout). I enjoyed them all, but I was most impressed by the Pale Ale. I later enjoyed full pours of "Gingerbread Snuggles" (Winter Ale) and "Double Sabotage" (Double New England IPA). The beer was solid, the space was nice, and I had a blast meeting and socializing with so many other local craft beer enthusiasts. I give Sterling Street my seal of approval and I hope to check out their Devens location in the future! read more

This is a nice brewery if you want to hang outdoors with your friends and/or dog. I only drank IPAs over here but all three of them were pretty good with the standout being the "Otherwise IPA." While the tables can be somewhat communal, I chose to be a bit more antisocial and just share a table with my dog. It should be noted that winds in the area can knock down their umbrellas or take your food off the table so be careful. There was a food truck outside serving Mexican food that was pretty good but aggressively priced. It did go well with the IPAs. Overall, this is a fairly nice place to enjoy a lazy afternoon. The server was super friendly and cool to talk to. Told him how I always end up with an IPA and asked to be surprised. He got me the Otherwise, which...you guessed it, an IPA! At least this one is more my style, smooth and a little hoppy. Also, I thought it was my imagination, but it had a faint taste of citrus. My second drink was the Sweet Cecilia, a sour raspberry beer. Going to sound counterintuitive, but it tasted too sour for me. I like a good balance of sour and the beer. When I was there, there was an event for rug painting, which was pretty cool. They also have small meals if you get a little hungry. read more

Headed to the new Sterling Street Brewery location in Devens, MA for opening weekend. Same beers on tap & light sandwiches and snacks available. The selling point is the space! With warmer weather on the horizon this place will be great to sit outside, have a beer and listen to live music this summer. If outdoors is not your thing, there is limited bar seating but some larger tables inside, too. Well done, SSB! read more

Their beer is pretty good, service is good and the place is clean. They have some food on the menu which we did not get and they also have a variety of food trucks. I gave it 4 stars because there is no view, just a parking lot and a mess across the street. Wish they would do something to spritz up their outdoor area. read more

Local brewery serving food and providing games for adults and children to enjoy. The service was great. On a Sunday afternoon it wasn't too busy - we leisurely enjoyed our beverages while the kiddo played Jenga. I liked the atmosphere here... clean, cozy, and comfortable without being too fancy/elegant like other breweries I've been to. Great local brewery in Clinton. Great ambiance and set up inside and outside. They have everything from trivia to live music to special events and food trucks and all sorts of pop ups. They always have a great selection of brews on and draft and in can. It gets busy so they may run out at times on a busy weekend. But there is always more to try. They clearly have a great passion for beer and making patrons enjoy themselves with their set up. They sell small pre cooked bites like pretzels, sandwiches etc. board games and a projector for a tv on the wall playing whatever local sport is on. Pretty neat. Stopped by here for the first time when we were passing through Sterling. Very impressed and will definitely be visiting again! As we came in the winter, there wasn't outdoor seating. Plenty of parking though. Inside, there are plenty of tables, a huge projector, and some games. The night we came, there was a live band and they were playing a football game on the projector. Beer was solid and vibes were just wonderful. Overall, would definitely recommend! read more

Great place to grab a brew. Plenty of parking, nice indoor and outdoor seating, and the Triple Double IPA was delicious and didn't taste very hoppy at all. For a 10.3% IPA, I was surprised how crushable these are. read more

Tucked away in the streets by the train tracks in Clinton is the Sterling Street Brewery. This is a great place to gather with your college friends to reminisce about the days gone by. It has that college bar feel, but with better beer of course. Our experience coincided with live music from Disco Lemonade, which added to the atmosphere. If Disco Lemonade happens to be playing where you are, you're in for a treat. This happenstance did make for a tougher parking situation and longer lines, but no one seemed to be bothered by it. We were able to grab a table outside to visit and chat. Inside provides room to dance for the concert-going crew or space to sit at some high tops and take in the whole scene. Beer is decent and I sipped on a Newfound Pale Ale. Food is offered inside, however I took advantage of the food truck situated outside, the Caribbean Press, because there was no line. I enjoyed a couple of sliders, the jerked chicken was spicy with some heat. Overall, our gang felt it was a nice place to meet up. For the area, it's a gem. read more

We had a great first experience at Sterling Street! The staff was organized and friendly and the wait was brief on a sunny afternoon. Though the beverage list is short, it has something to offer everyone! We enjoyed a flight of beers and a few 8 oz pours, and the tater keg appetizer that we got were unexpectedly incredible! small local brewery, somewhat brewery/industrial inside with outside seating but not in the rain today....staff very pleasant and helpful, nice selection of brews, pretty will mixed, not all ipas or trending that way.....i liked the clinton beer and the summer myself....food was interesting tater kegs and garlic rolls very good as was the Italian panini, the hippie panini was great....not a real brewery person but this was very pleasant and brews and food and service all very good....we both liked it!!! read more

I went to SSB for my second time tonight and I have to say if was another great experience. The staff was again extremely welcoming and the beers were on point. I am mostly an IPA guy, but tonight I tried the stout, pilsners, porter and I enjoyed them all. Everything was delicious including the food! This is really a great place for beer enthusiasts or just someone going to a brewery for the first time. Sterling Street clearly know their beers and this is a great addition to the area. It was ok. The pretzel I ordered was small and the beer I didn't really like. Sat outside but felt like I was more or less sitting in a former parking lot. I guess for being in Clinton you would not really expect a beautiful venue. It you are after a more industrial feel Then this might be a better fit. read more

So happy to have found this place! They have only been open a few months but you wouldn't know it! Plenty of beers on tap to choose from and quick service. Today's weather was decent so we were able to enjoy a flight of four pours alongside two really tasty paninis outside on the patio. our office went after work and stayed for trivia night. good selection of beers made on premises and small selection of food. we all had a good time with the exception that there were several people that brought dogs, that were not quiet. Maybe Wednesday's are bring your dog day so that was the only annoying thing. read more
