We were given an appointment right away. Upon arriving, the staff was very attentive and friendly. They walked us through every step. Once our dog was seen, the doctor came and explained our dogs situation. Unfortunately, our dog was diagnosed with heart failure and a possible thyroid tumor. The doctor went over all of the options and helped us make the right decision. Our sweet boy gained his angel wings and crossed the rainbow bridge where he will no longer feel any pain. The office provides grief counseling. We received a heart of seeds to plant in memory of our dog and a sweet keepsake keychain. Today, in the mail we received a sympathy card with a handwritten message from the treating doctor. Although the outcome was not what we had expected, the care and attention our dog received in just a few hours made the trip worth it. I am so impressed…read more We have a HIGHLY fearful dog at the vet. To the point where his old vet did all his visits outside and didn't actually accomplish anything other than his yearly vaccines. We moved to the area and I called BVH to make an appointment. They called our old vet, got all of his details, and made sure they scheduled him on a procedure day to make sure they could sedate him if needed. We arrived and they gave him a bandana with happy pheromones to help make him comfortable. Dr Silvers tried the exam with a muzzle, but our pup was not having it. We agreed to come back later that day when they could sedate him. We could have left him, but didn't want to add stress to the situation so we appreciated being given the option to bring him back. They also gave us the estimate up front, so that we could make a decision before moving forward. Dr Aulisio was our vet when we returned and she was wonderful. We quickly muzzled our pup for the sedative and she was able to do the entire exam (something he hasn't had in the 2 years we've had him!). He got all of his vaccines, blood drawn, nails clipped, the works, with almost no stress put on our pup. We just received a call to check in on him. Truly a wonderful experience, we are so happy we changed vets.

The front desk staff is not very friendly and they were annoyed with me, accusing me of not filling out my paperwork prior to the appointment even though I told them that I did fill it out and submitted it last night. Their internet has been down for many hours, due to a storm, and the receptionist didn't want to accept that the outage may be the reason they didn't receive my information. Anyways, she obtained my information and we moved along. My appointment was with Dr. Betz. He was not friendly either. Didn't introduce himself, got annoyed when I asked him for his name. After his assessment of my rabbit, he began charting with a concerned look upon his face. I asked if everything was ok, and he told me he would get to me once he was done charting. Being in healthcare myself, I found his demeanor cold and didn't care much for his bedside manor. He did not go into any detail on how to care for rabbits nor did he go into detail on the rabbits physical assessment, just told me she looked good. I left the exam room feeling like I was an annoyance to him and he doesn't care much for his line of work. When I checked out, I asked the receptionist to please make sure my appointment for my new rabbit was not with him. She assured me that she would change it to Dr. Pacifico. Today: I just brought our new rabbit in for his initial check up with Dr. Pacifico and OMG!!!! It's like night and day from my experience last week. The front desk staff isn't that welcoming, but Dr. Pacifico make up for them. He is so friendly, caring and took his time to go over his assessment of my rabbit and listened to my concerns carefully and provided excellent feedback. Dr. Pacifico is most likely the reason this practice stays afloat. I am so impressed with him and his passion for small animals. He mentioned to me that his daughters are involved with our local 4H and I could really tell that not only is he passionate about animals, but so are his children. His passion is innate and definitely what makes up the majority of this man's DNA. I am considering him as a vet for our doodle.

This is a very small office which means it is quiet, personal, and scheduled appointments are timely. Dr Sarle is so kind and gentle to animals that my extremely aggressive-to-men poodle was never reluctant to go to appointments and never aggressive toward Dr. Sarle. Calling in a panic on a weekend or after office hours and being able to speak with Dr Sarle directly is a part of the care and service that makes me feel as if my pups are getting the best veterinary care possible.

After several months, it was discovered she had a neurological disorder. We were referred to a neurologist. Our job was to keep her comfortable for her remaining time with us. Despite no longer treating her, the doctor and staff called to check on her. They listened when I called them crying, concerned about what to do next. They sent a handwritten card after they learned that we had lost her. We have since adopted my pup's sister and have returned to Cranford Animal Hospital. When you walk in (with or without your furry friend) they know who you are. We were there last night and sat with the vet tech for 15 minutes while she listened and made my scared puppy feel comfortable before bringing her back for routine vaccinations. I have seen both doctors and they are both incredibly thorough and knowledgeable. If I call during business hours, I've never had to leave a message. Someone always answers the phone. If anything other than normal test results come back, the doctor calls you directly to discuss next steps. I see many people complain about the cost of service. You pay for the care you get, and I truly believe that. My biggest advice, GET INSURANCE. I pay the cost up front and get reimbursed by insurance. You can browse plans online and choose your deductible and reimbursement percentage. You can get wellness/prevention covered as add ons to most plans. FRONT DESK is incompetent and mis-told us the date of my pet's teeth surgery! I found out when I…read morewalked in that the date was 2 days later! (after the weekend). Nancy kept insisting that she told us the pre-surgery instructions yesterday when she didn't. Later Dr. Ferreira said they'd tell us this tomorrow, so the front desk lady keeps saying she said things she never said! Then a nice staff asks me to explain what happens. I tell Sean, and he said Dr. Nazar whom we saw, can perform surgery on my pet if we decide to move forward. Now, I'm feeling comfortable as Dr. Nazer seem good. I tell the front desk this, and they said they removed me and can't unchange it! Nancy at front desk mishears me and mistates to Dr. Ferreira that "Sean said that they can do the surgery" when all he said was, I have the option to do it if I wanted to. While we were talking in the room, Dr. Ferreira apparently told them to remove and don't schedule because when I said I'd want to do it for my cat's sake, she replied that they won't help me because I told them that i didn't like their services and told me to go elsewhere. Just WOW. When I tried to speak up, she'd accuse me of "yelling at her". She expects you to go silently w/o protest after she kicks you out of the office. When i told her, "Basically your siding w/ your front desk staffs", she replied, "I'm protecting this whole office." She's talking to me w/ one hand on her hip and looking at me hard and mean. I realize that I don't want to come here, like ever. There are some PROS: Dr. Nazer seems solid and good. Sean was deescalating when he took me to the room and talked. CONS: I waited 55 min yesterday to be seen b/c there was just 1 vet. There was an urgent case, so on those days, expect to wait a long time. Front desk is incompetent and mishears all the time. What she hears you say and what you actually said are different. Same with what she actually says and thinks she says are different. Cost is high. I paid almost $1K for basic exams for 2 cats. Had 1 blood work done on 1 cat and cleaned out his ears and got an eardrop. This EXCLUDES any teeth surgery procedures.
