Very frustrating. Called their "emergency" number and was told someone would contact me. They did not. I had to get someone else.

He walked us through the process, the benefits of solar and what set up makes most sense for us. He also was able to get us great pricing which was almost 10% lower than other estimates. Paperwork and payment was a breeze! Once the permit was approved (took about 5 weeks after signing the agreement), they came and installed the panels in a few days which was impressive (probably lucked out with availability). The install crew (was literally an army! about 8-9 guys) came promptly at 7:45AM (15 minutes early which was great) and was finished by 1PM. The head of the crew walked me through the process and closed out great showing me the app and next steps. Clean up was also fantastic as nothing was left behind. Currently we are waiting for the inspection so we can start banking the unused solar for future use. But still we are generating over 45 kWh daily (on a sunny day) and our average usage is about 30 (we have 2 EV's) so we are about 150% efficiency which is great. Though we can not bank yet, we are still utilizing solar power so our electric bill for the past week will be minimal. All in all, SUNation Energy is extremely professional, very knowledgeable and customer service seems to be a top priority to them. My neighbor and inlaws are now interested in solar and will be referring them to SUNation and Rob Moser - they also have very nice cash incentives for referrals!!!

I received my first, almost zero electric bill, and have banked enough kwh to keep us at zero cost for a long while. My only problem is that it's difficult not to follow the reporting software on a day-to-day basis. It's a habit I'll have to try to get over. I interviewed 4 solar companies before choosing Sunation. Working with Sunation proved it to be the right company and a pleasant experience. Their on-line programming seemed to be perfect and all the legal stuff was perfectly clear. If I needed to speak with someone, they were always there. The phone is always answered by someone who knows the answer or knows who knows. And since we're in for the long haul, it's good to know that the service line is always responsive. Approvals from the City and from ConEd seemed to be right on time just as they advised. Their master electrician served as our planning consultant for the physical installation and he made sure to seek my input at each step. When the time came for the installation the Sunation crew was amazingly efficient and the crew chief explained everything. The job was done earlier than was promised and with a thorough clean-up. And the system just works, quietly and powerfully. I couldn't be more pleased.

During the sales process, I was asked if I wanted to purchase or lease the solar on the home. The asking price was $14,000, which I thankfully declined. Fast forward it to now, I have been paying my electric company and the solar company every month for over a year and longer. After more observations were made on the solar edge app, I have come to realize that the panels that are on my home are grossly underproducing for the demand for consumption me and my family use. Long story short, the salesman at posigen attempted to sell me 10-14 panels without a battery on my home that doesn't even cover my consumption demands. Unreal work. Finally, the builders of the homes should've chosen a better solar company to be contracted with. What a sleeve.

At the end of March, we closed on a house in that came with PosiGen solar, which had been installed just a few months prior. We basically had to take on the contract to get the house. I did, and paid the initial bills. They were very proactive in contacting me to make sure I signed the transfer of the contract and knew when payments were due (you'll soon see why this is interesting). All was well at first. Low electric bill, banking our solar energy, good times. Then, in mid-June, I received my National Grid bill, which was much more than I expected based on the previous two months, and, upon closer inspection, saw that I had no solar credit. I immediately called PosiGen. They said that yes, indeed, my system was not working and had not been working for about a month. They said their processes are automated, and there was an open ticket to repair it, but the equipment was not yet available, and their policy is to notify customers when the equipment is available to install, not when it is not working. At best, a horrible policy, at worst complete BS (OK, some of my opinion may have snuck in there). One of the sunniest months of the year passed with my solar not working, and the company that installed it, monitors it, and owns it not informing me. While they said I would not have to pay the bill for that month (so generous), they said there was no way to credit me for the electricity I should have been generating. When I asked for a timeline, they said it could be a week, it could be several weeks, depending on when the equipment was available. Miracle of miracles, within an hour or two, I received a call that the equipment was available, and they could install it just a couple of days later, which they did. I saw that my online activity did not show any generation credits, but they said that is just a snapshot and is not in real time, so I should have no fear. Fast forward to the next month. Read the above paragraphs again to see what happened. The new equipment they installed did not work. I again only knew because I went online to see the state of my account, and saw no kilowatt-hour credits, nor any solar credit from National Grid. Basically, I'm out-of-pocket two months electric bill, and whatever I would have saved from the solar I would have generated over the sunniest two months of the year. The only recompense offered is that I would not have to pay their monthly fee for the time it has not been working. I asked (reasonably, I thought) for them to reimburse me for my electric bills and/or credit my account some kilowatt hours, but was told that was not possible. Once again, they said that they didn't know when the equipment would be available, then magically called me a few hours later to say it was and they could install it, which they did. They also notified me that after that, they would be in touch to discuss possible credits to my account. Two months later, I still eagerly await that call, although they did call me to tell me my bill was overdue (I had told them I would pay it when I saw the solar credit on my National Grid bill, since their history of honesty had been sketchy). This is month 5 of a 25-year contract that I inherited with brand new equipment that twice has not worked. I'm sure it will be a long and interesting relationship. I will predict now that they will read this, apologize again, and say that they don't want their customers to be treated like this and they understand my frustration. They train their reps on the phones very well to say all the right things. But when it comes to actual customer satisfaction and getting things done, I'll let you decide.

My journey started in 2021 with a 20 panel system and fast forward to 2023 I'm having an additional 10 panels added to my system (needed additional panels to offset power consumption for 2 EV's, ductless system, etc.). I waited to write my review to gauge how the service and support experience would potentially change after the inital installation and I can say Dan and his team has been just as competent, professional, supportive, etc as the initial consultation. My gripe with the other 'solar guys' is they all sounded like car salesmen focusing on making a deal, get in and get out.....in contrast Dan actually sat and took the time to explain the whole process in great detail from start to finish and didn't end until all questions, comments and concerns were addressed. I will use Built Well Solar for all my solar needs for foreseeable future.

With my first home I requested quotes from multiple companies and either didn't like their sales pitch, price or equipment. Built Well was a refreshing change. No pressure, just a presentation of the value added by their installation. They use state of the art equipment and did indeed, eliminate my electric bill. They performed the work on time and on budget. When I sold my first home the buyers mentioned that the solar panels were one of the factors in making their decision. Needless to say, there was no shopping around when it came time to equip my second home. They are hands down, the BEST solar company and I liked the fact that they are a privately owned Long Island based company. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone thinking of added solar panels to their home.
