Very clean and although it's crowded, it doesn't feel overwhelming at all. The only downside for me is that outside food and drinks aren't allowed. But thankfully, there's a nice little cafeteria with affordable prices, okay for lunch or snacks. We'll definitely be back tomorrow! Pretty fun place, not that expensive. Restrooms were relatively clean and there are a lot of swimming options for all levels and ages. I only have two gripes (yeah, here we go). First, I really think it is tacky on their part to charge a separate $4 fee for the obstacle course which requires a wristband. Especially given that you then have to queue up just for a turn. While it is a cool feature it is annoying that you have to oay an entrance fee then this additional fee. I suggest they Just up the fee a couple of bucks and let anyone use it. Gripe number two, the lifeguards. Bros... chillll the F out! While I admire and respect their commitment to safety, they are a bit overzealous in regards to their enforcement of the rules. I wonder if because there are so many of them that they need to find any little thing to jump on to but the vigor that they use to address even the most minor violation such as kids running or hanging on the swim lines is so out of proportion that it is a bit absurd. I can't help but mess with them a little bit just out of spite. Aside from the issues mentioned it is a pretty cool place with a variety of options (waterside and kiddie area) that make for a fun way to beat the heat. read more

I have been here a few times- once for Doggie Play day at the end of the season and once for Water Aerobics. I hope to come by again this summer for open swim. After you park, there is a little window for you to pay for your classes or entry fee by the green gate entry gate. Prices range depending on what you want to do and the season you go. My 1st water aerobics class was $7 since it was off season, I believe it is now $9 per class. At the window they also sell bottles of water and other snacks I think. They have locker rooms so please bring a lock if you intend to lock up your valuables while you swim. There are showers and clean bathrooms to use. The bathroom is very vintage, you can tell it's been around for a long time. It reminds me of the old bathrooms from my high school (which was ancient when I attended). Life guards seem to be rotated out every 15 minutes or so and seem to be ready to help which is great. Great treasure for Folsom! read more

This is a fun and perfect place to spend an afternoon with the family! I love the shaded area where you can lounge but also keep an eye on the kids. We were there 3 hours and my kids still didn't want to leave. This is our favorite place to swim! It is clean, spacious, plenty of shaded seating areas and the life guards are great! My older boys love the inflatable obstacle courses, totally worth the $3 extra to have access to the inflatables. My youngest is working extra hard on his swimming skills, he wants to do the obstacle inflatable so much. They have a snack bar with nachos, pretzels, ice cream, candy and more! They have life jackets, so no need to bring your own. They have a younger kid play area, my boys love the red slide and playing basketball in the pool area. Another favorite is the diving boards. This aquatic center is great! I feel that it's reasonably priced for what they have to offer. There's a large play structure with 2 small slides in the middle of a shallow wading pool, a large water slide, a lap pool, and an inflatable obstacle course (for an extra fee). The lifeguards here appear to be trained well and actively do their job as they're supposed to. There are bathrooms with plenty of stalls available and showers to rinse off after swimming. There's a snack bar with food and drink available for purchase onsite. Outdoor food and drink are technically not allowed, but they don't check bags and don't seem to care. It gets super busy here and the lounge chairs get snatched up quickly, so I recommend getting here 10-15 minutes before they open to get in line and hopefully secure a good spot inside. read more

Brought my daughter here to swim, it was busy but it was also 95 degrees outside and summer time for most kids, so that was to be expected. We had lots of fun going down the slide and splashing in the pools, but I do wish they'd had the inflatables out in the water- they were pictured on the site but not there once we got there and my kiddo was kinda bummed about that. She's 11, and had a tough time in the kids wading pool without anything else to do. They've got a little snack bar, but make sure to bring sunscreen and goggles (they do have them there for way more expensive than the stores). read more

Fantastic afternoon recreation area for kids ages 2-teen. Looks like they do swim lessons and family events also (movie nights). My kids particularly enjoyed the floating bounce-obstacle course and the high-dive. There is also a large water-play structure for kids. I believe that the pool is open for laps and lessons earlier in the day. When I went, it cost $7 for afternoon entry, plus $3 for access to the floating obstacle course... which I recommend for any child old enough to want to do it. They deserve no stars!! On July 1st, 2023, my family and I visited the Steve Milkos Aquatic Center to celebrate my five-year-old autistic nephew's birthday. However, our fun day turned into a traumatic experience when another guest accused us of stealing their property and hiding it with our belongings. Despite providing an alibi and no evidence being found, the staff refused to listen to us and called the police to escort us out of the park. This was an embarrassing and humiliating experience for us, especially since we were there to celebrate a special occasion. We had to tell our kids their time was cut short due to being kicked out. My nephew who was enjoying himself left crying and unable to be comforted because he said it was his birthday and did not understand why we had to leave. We tried to explain that we were innocent, and even had at least one person in our group with our belongings at all times, except for the last 20 minutes when we were all together at the diving boards. However, the staff's unprofessionalism and lack of empathy only made the situation worse. They seemed incapable of handling the situation, and their refusal to listen to us left us feeling upset and distressed. They called the police to escort us out of the park before we had even found out that we were being accused of anything. This was an embarrassing and humiliating experience for us, as we were forced to leave the park under false pretenses and in front of all the other visitors. We believe that our experience highlights a larger issue with the business and its staff. It is clear that they lack the necessary training and professionalism to deal with sensitive situations like this. The accusing guest continued to change their story about the accusation, further exacerbating the situation and causing even more distress for us. Despite finding out that it was possible that her son moved their belongings without her knowledge, the recreation coordinator, Scott Seeba, did nothing and continued to comfort the other party. When we asked Scott Seeba why the accusing guest was not being asked to leave with her children since we were falsely accused, he stated that it would not happen and asked "why she should be asked to leave." We told him it was only fair since the situation started with her falsely accusing us. He stated that it was beside the point and that she would not be asked to leave, and that he would handle it separately after we left. He told my sister we were no longer welcome back to the park. This was not the only situation of the day for us. Shortly after we arrived, a teenage boy whom we did not know came over and dunked my nephew's face in the water and when my nephew popped up, he slapped him across the face. When my sister confronted the teenager, the lifeguard who witnessed the situation apologized and stated he was a regular in the park that had done this once before and that he has autism. My sister explained her son also has autism and asked that the lifeguard walk the boy to his parents who were not around and tell them what happened. The lifeguard walked the teenager to his parents, but nobody checked on us afterward, nor was the teenager and his family escorted out of the park by police or asked to leave. We were not even offered an apology. Overall, we hope that sharing our story can help others avoid similar experiences with this business's practices and treatment of customers. Our experience was deeply traumatic and has left a lasting negative impression on us. We urge the staff at Steve Milkos Aquatic Center to take our concerns seriously and make the necessary changes to ensure that no one else has to go through what we did. read more

I absolutely love this place, so much I even bought the season pass lol! I think it's an amazing spot for the younger kids and once the inflatables return (come on July), it is also a super fun spot for the bigger kids. The only issue is if you don't get here early (and luck isn't on your side lol) you will NOT get a lounge chair and you'll be stuck stalking the other parents like a hawk to see if anyone leaves lol! There's even less spots by the bigger pools haha, so it's pretty much show up early or hope you're a lucky parent that day! It got totally updated and I think it runs very well. I also like how they have the standard set of rules but it's not over board like some local pools (no names) and kids can still have fun and be kids! It opens at 1:00pm but you need to line up early around 12:30pm in order to get in and grab a chair in the shade. They have slides, playground equipment in the water, and activities. Refreshments and snacks are also sold. The fee to get inside was $7 per person and that's a huge bargain! Will be back again one day. read more

We had my sons birthday party here and it was perfect. Everyone had an amazing time. Keith was out party host and he was great. We changed our pizza and cake serving time and extended our reservation an extra hour and the staff accommodated it easily. I think paying $75 to have the party area for an extra hour is ridiculous. 40 or 50 would be more fair. My only complaint is rules are not enforced. The website says one Mylar ballon is allowed. Another party had at least 10 balloons. I wanted a bunch of balloons for my son and it's not fair other people get to break the rules. read more

Wa-wa-wa-wipeout. One of Japan's best exports is their game shows. And during our visit to Folsom, we were trying to decide what to do with the boys and once we heard the local pool had inflatables similar to the game show, Wipeout, there was really no other choice. Up until the age of 18, I practically lived at my local YMCA. The Folsom Aquatic Center brought back all of the good memories from my childhood. But my local YMCA looked nothing like this. The aquatic center has about six different zones. A child's play area with a fantastic water feature for them to splash, spray, climb and have buckets of water dumped on them from a tower. There is a spiral water slide, similar to what you'll see at a water park. Not too fast, so good for little kids. The next pool has a basketball and volleyball court for group play. And then it gets really good. You need to pay an additional fee, but the inflatable obstacle course was insane. We spent about four hours here laughing our butts off. Some sections are for climbing, but you can also attempt to jump from one inflatable to another. 9 times out of 10, the jumper will be unsuccessful and comically bounce off the inflatable and fall into the water. As my son said, "Mom, now that's entertainment!" There is a traditional pool with about six lanes for lap swimming and at the end there are diving boards. Both a traditional board and a high dive. So there was something for everyone in our group. But really, the inflatables were the absolute highlight and worth the extra money for the kids. This is the perfect activity for kids 12 and under. I didn't see many teenagers around. There is a concession stand so you can purchase icees that make your tongue turn blue and the locker rooms are outstanding. If only this was around when I was a kid. read more

What a great community pool. There's a very shallow pool area with an good water play structure and small slide which is great for all ages and swim levels. There's a single larger slide that empties into a 3ft pool. There is lots of shallow water where young swimmers can gain confidence swimming but can put their feet down and stand. The middle pool is like deeper grown ups and big kids can stand and they allow jumping in. One side was for water basketball. The biggest pool area had 2 inflatable water obstacles which are an extra fee but can be used unlimited during visit. Several spring diving boards in the deep for kids to use. The lines for things went quickly and were not too long. The place was busy but we had lounge chairs and I felt comfortable leaving our belongings while we swam. Didn't interact with the staff but they seemed attentive and friendly. It was around $25 for 3 of us including one unlimited obstacle course pass. I would absolutely do it again. read more

Yes, its a nice setup for kids to play. But seriously, the place was virtually packed shoulder to shoulder with kids. We ended up leaving because it was too crowded. Unfortunately, though, we didn't leave soon enough as both of my kids came down with a full blown head cold that night. The place is a cesspool of germs.....not exactly ideal immediately following a pandemic. I used the lap lanes on a few other days. Dont try to swim laps at a busy hour. Unless you go right when they open, you'll likely run into non-lap swimmers who lack any etiquette that cross your lane in the middle of the pool and cut you off mid-swim, or wall crawlers who are blind to the fact that you're coming into the wall for a flip turn. read more

The lifeguards here are ON POINT. Literally the best I have ever seen. And, humble brag, I used to be a "slide operator" at a theme park. So until now I have never really seen lifeguards that were as good as my former employer's. These guys are damn good. I feel totally safe having my kids swim here. Took my toddler here for swim "lessons" and the lessons have been lacking any level of instruction so far. First day was "ok we're going to kick our feet" and I asked if they had any advice on how to get my kid to do that and they were clueless. Secondly the next "lesson" was to "scoop the water like you're using an ice cream scoop". Are 6 mo-3yo babies/tots supposed to know what that means? And finally, the multiple cockroaches I've seen roaming around the women's shower/locker rooms are disgusting. There are so many people and kids walking around with their bare feet and they have to step on dead cockroach juice. I told the teenager up front about it and all she said was "sorry about that". If I didn't spend a non refundable $89 here for the next two weeks I probably wouldn't come back. read more
