Man oh man have I been SLEEPING on this place! It's "right down the street" from me and now that I know what it's like there, I can say I will be going often. A friend and I ordered the flight of hotdogs because what's better than sampling almost everything for your first go 'round? We got that, plus chili cheese fries, plus the Hey Now, You're An All-Star burger...and everything was SO INCREDIBLE!! OK. The flight is 4 hotdogs cut in half to create 8 different hotdog styles and wowzers. Every. Single. One. was so so so GOOD!! It's only a little embarrassing to admit this: I'm a "ketchup and mustard on the side" kind of hotdog eater. Very plain, OK? So when I say I enjoyed every last one of the hotdogs on the flight, I feel like it's a pretty big deal! You have really outdone yourself, Steve! I went with my daughter after her birthday to celebrate a little bit and try the new Steve's Hotdog Digs on Delmar. The staff was friendly and helpful the gentleman at the register recommended the combo meal for my daughter which was a winner she got the chili dog fries with chili on the side and a drink. I got the Chicago Dog (my hometown) and it was good also but I prefer the fluorescent green relish lol . As much as I love a good hot dog, it's a bit surprising I hadn't made it to Steve's until the opening of their Delmar location. Pretty cool spot. The staff was all friendly and the service was fast. The food was good, but nothing I'm going to be rushing back for. We both ordered a St Louis dog, and while the dog itself was great, we both agreed there was a bit too much mustard. Neither of our hot dogs came with the provolone cheese that was promised either which was a bit of a letdown. The chili and cheese on the chili fries were both bland imo. Though the fries themselves were good. All in all, for the money spent, my first experience was a bit lackluster. read more

Another win for Steve and crew. I wasn't very familiar with the Craft and Arts district on Delmar so it was a different change of vibes and atmosphere. It's not too far from the eastern part of the Delmar Loop. I've been going to Steve's since he had his location in the Hill, so it was cool to experience the great food in another. Service and food were great, and it has a lot of seating. Would like to come here in the summertime, where there's lots of outdoor seating. I really dig the concert/music flyers collage on the wall! (That's so Steve! lol) But yes, if I don't feel like driving far to South Grand, I'll come here for my hot dog fix. read more

Service was great. Starting with the good. I placed my order online and it was easy breezy and i was greeted when i approached the pickup window by a nice young lady. Ordered the Chicago dog w fries and the first bite of the hot dog threw me for a loop. Had a strange texture and taste and WAYYYYY TOO MUCH MUSTARD. The bun seemed old or maybe just an odd texture. I tried a second bite and couldn't do it. Threw it away w the fries (not good either). I'll be back. Maybe i will build my own dog next time. And will dine in. read more

Definitely not a true Chicago dog, which isn't the end of the world, but it didn't have that Vienna-beef snap and it was too small given the massive size of the bun (which wasn't steamed and seemed a little stale). Toppings were blah and the fries were forgettable. Given the price, I'd expect higher quality ingredients. What I really don't get: why are there no trees at the property? It's just hot, hot (nonpermeable) asphalt and a few umbrellas. Also, the restaurant doesn't seem to recycle. I'll come back to try something else, but this experience was a bit of a miss. read more

I started an online order for this location but since they automatically add a tip to your online order, I decided to just order in person. I have no problem with tipping, however I want to tip according to my experience. When I entered the restaurant there were customers leaving but no one in line nor seated. There was a young lady wiping down the condiment station when I walked in. I wasn't greeted I was given a dirty look instead as if I was bothering her. I then walked to the counter to order and after she arrived at the register, she just stared at me. Literally a blank stare like hurry up and order already. It was very off putting and rude to say the least. The entire interaction, she asked if I wanted a value meal and my receipt, that's it. My order was prepared quickly by the staff until this same young lady had to add condiments to my burger. I sat and watched while she put extra condiments on it trying to ruin the burger. She was actually smiling/smirking. I also ordered pickles on the side, not the burger. After receiving my order and as I'm walking out the door she says "oh I just remembered you wanted your pickles on the side" "They're on the burger, is that ok?" I said "I guess it'll have to be" and left. Remaking the burger is more work for kitchen staff, and I didn't want her to affect them. In my car I wiped as much of the mayo, mustard and ketchup that could and removed the pickles. It's almost like this was personal, but I'm absolutely sure I'm old enough to be her mother and we don't know one other. Overall the burger was ok, I could still taste too much mustard. The fries were good. This is my 2nd time going to this location, based on today's service I won't return. I live in the area and this entire experience could've been avoided by going to 5 guys instead. She is a poor representation of Steve's brand and his love for the STL community. So glad I didn't tip! read more

The staff and owner were great at the Delmar location, however, menu didn't coincide with ingredients they had in stock. We ordered a flight of dogs and a couple were swapped out unbeknownst to us for lack of ingredients. The dogs were ok, but the buns need to be seriously reconsidered. It's too much bread for the size hot dog/brat and they are rather hard. The bun should not distract from dog and toppings, however, Steve's buns do just that - distract and frustrate. I'd go back if the buns were less bread and softer! read more

I had been to the S. Grand location and wasn't terribly impressed, but it had been a while and I saw that Steve's had a new location. I was the only customer for the entire (almost) lunch hour. I got the day's special ($10) which was a dog w chili, Fritos, sour cream, and spicy onions. I also got a side of fries. The food came out pretty quickly. The crinkle fries were terrific, perfectly cooked and a good size for the $3 price. The dog was actually pretty good, flavorful and the Fritos gave a tasty crunch. What I found really disappointing was the bun was approaching rock-hardness. As I was practically done, the guy who took my order asked me how everything was and I mentioned how hard the bun was. He agreed! And said he usually goes with a different bun that he thought was softer! WISH HE WOULD HAVE TOLD ME! So, points off for that and also that no one checked in on me earlier.
