A pretty good meal for a good value, and bonus vibes points for the fact that it's in a gas station in the middle of Town & Country / Chesterfield. Most of the menu items are sandwich-based, so as a gf individual, my best option is the nachos. They make their own chips, which is a plus. Yes! Yes! Yes! This place is in a gas station. When you walk in the gas station, make sure to follow the piggies on the ground. When you get to a little host to stand, you will place your order there the menu is on the wall next to you. You can get it to go or you can eat inside. They do not have a lot of room inside, but it definitely fit the 6 of us and more. We all got something different to eat, and everything was great. The service was great and they gave us a little extra dessert to try for free. Yes, I think they do use a sweet baby rays barbecue and yes, the rib has a little maybe brown sugar on it but it was awesome. Pork steak has some kind of rub on it, but everyone loved it. Have heard lots of advertising about this place. Was in the area and stopped in for a late lunch. Menu looks good...the usual BBQ items as well as some not traditional items. Wanted to try the ribs...but not go food. Settled on turkey sandwich with hot chips. Chips are home made and fairly thick..they were good. Sandwich was ok. Light smoke flavor, moist. Bun was fine. Really solid BBQ joint that lives up to its motto of having the best pulled pork, west of the Mississippi! Their pulled pork sandwich is awesome, but they e got a lot of other great options too, ranging from smoked chicken burritos to smash burger tacos to ribs. I cannot believe in a city with the likes of salt and smoke, sugar fire just a name the largest of the many exceptionally good barbecue restaurants we have here that this restaurant holds a prodigious four star rating. I'll start with the most important barbecue item that I am aware of, brisket. Their brisket taste like dried top round that's only chance of consumption relies on sauce. This is their best item on the menu. It only goes downhill from here. Let's just now that this restaurant truly belongs in Dupo, Illinois or Hillsborough, Missouri, where they have little knowledge of what true barbecue should taste like. Unfortunately, the owner fell ill so my order was forgotten about but I did follow up on it in the staff was so kind and apologized immensely letting me know that the owner has been in and out of the hospital for the past couple months. Everything was absolutely incredible and delicious meat had such great flavor, and it was so tender I was blown away. Saw an ad in our local paper for this BBQ place that is in the old service bay of a gas station. Had to try it out, I had the pulled pork nachos and it was excellent. They make their own chips for this dish and they were some of the best I have ever eaten. They give you are very large portion of food, and the pulled pork was really tasty and the bbq sauce was great. It's a fairly small place for eating in ( like a two car garage size), but it was very nice and very clean. The service was exceptional with every employee ( including the owner Rick) stopping by to make sure everything was good with our meal. Great BBQ in an unexpected place! My mom suggested we go grab some BBQ from a new (to us) spot, which I obviously obliged to. We pulled up and to my surprise, it was located in the same building as a gas station. No judgement from me, I have just never seen a set up like this for a local spot with raving reviews! It was unique so I automatically liked it! We stood and ordered in line, and I got a pulled pork sandwich with a side of Mac n cheese. The pork was super delicious- it wasn't too fatty or dry. It came on a bun which was pressed/ grilled which I think is always a great touch. The 3 Bay Mac n Cheese was delicious and flavorful. Sometimes (for me) Mac n cheese can need some salt... I was fine without it! They sell bbq and sides by the pound, which is a great option for larger groups. They also offer a ton of different desserts, as well as desserts by the pan. Next time I return, I want to try the smoked pulled pork nachos! This spot is definitely worth checking out! read more

My second time being here in a week; and I love this unpretentious spot. 3 Day BBQ is located opposite to Woods Mill Plaza neighboring a gas station. It is casual and cozy. Believe me! Don't let the location at a gas/convenience store fool you. Great BBQ here. Everything I've tried was very good. My favorite is the sloppy rib sandwich, where they shave the meat off the ribs in chunks and put it in a toasted bun. The beans and slaw are also good. The slaw is one of the better tasting vinegar-based recopies I've tasted. The deserts/sweets are all home made, and taste like it. Ditto the home made BBQ chips. This place should be a big hit in their immediate area for Door-Dash and the like. read more

This place is . Do not let the fact that 3 Bays is in a gas station stop you from enjoying what I think is some of the best barbeque in St. Louis. When you walk in, it's a typical gas station and you have to walk past the front counter to the ordering counter for 3 bays. Past the ordering counter is the area where you can dine-in. Service was fast and friendly. My pulled pork sandwich was awesome. The pork was smoked to perfect tenderness and with the sauce was a great balance of tangy, sweet, salty goodness. The coleslaw was the vinegar based kind and complemented the pulled pork very well. The french fries were top tier. The mac-attack was a huge serviing of pulled pork over mac and cheese. The mac and cheese was delicious and also worked very well with the pulled pork. The serving was enough to feed 2-3 people. Another member of my group ordered the rib sandwich. I will definitely be coming back to try the ribs soon. They are serious about their dessert menu. This month's target for Barbecue Wednesday for Mr D and I was 3 Bay BBQ. We actually had trouble finding it since the GPS did not really take us to it. I knew that it was somehow associated with a gas station (3 Bay) but thought it was a defunct station not an operational one. Nevertheless, we stumbled around and finally found it in the Phillips 66 station. As always, when I first visit a barbecue joint, I want to try a good sampling of their meats. All of 3 Bay's offerings are in sandwich form which I did not want, so I asked for them to be without bun. I ordered pulled pork, brisket and a half rack of ribs. Sides were slaw, potato salad and baked beans. I will start with the good. It's a short list. 3 Bay is serving decent back ribs. They were properly cooked, tender, moist yet not fall-off-the-bone mush. They were also very smoky. Ms T thought the smoke was harsh, as in accomplished with liquid smoke. If I ordered them again, I would ask that they not be sauced in the reddish pancake syrup that they do not need. On their own, the rub would be fine, albeit needing a pinch of salt. It's pretty much downhill from here and by downhill, I mean off a precipice. In the 1950's my Iowa mother made "barbecued hamburger", like Sloppy Joes, except with only catsup and lots of brown sugar. Now picture crockpot pork, shredded very fine (not pulled) and drowned in that same sickeningly sweet sort of sauce, lots of it. It reminded me of the Farmer's Elevator annual meeting dinner with pork cooked in those big electric roasters and heavily sauced with sweet, sweet sauce. This is not barbecue by any definition. It had no smoke flavor. Sauce is the feature instead of the meat. Sauce is used to cover the lack of an actual barbecue process. Compare my photo with the one posted a couple of weeks ago from the giant chain, Billy Sims BBQ, taken at the Hays, KS location. Which would you call pulled pork barbecue? It gets worse. Brisket. Underdone, roasted brisket meat with no smoke, no rub, no bark. Sliced paper thin and drowned in pancake syrup. I knew when I saw it, that it was a failure. One small bite was enough, the rest went into the trash. This is a crime against beef. Proper brisket cannot even be sliced like this without falling apart. Compare my photos from Big Baby Q or Salt + Smoke or better still, Pody's in Pecos, Texas. Sides? The slaw has a sweet and sour clear sauce and is of the marinated style, which is fine. My grandmother used to make this. At least the vinegar keeps the cabbage crisp (squeaky) so they are not serving stale slaw. It is plenty sweet. Potato salad was very sweet and had yellow mustard and a modest amount of onion. I would prefer much less sweetness, less sugar or Miracle Whip and more mayo, but at least we did not throw it away. It struck me as supermarket or Sam's Club grade potato salad. The baked beans were also quite sweet which is normal. If you have a sweet tooth and don't care about much else, this is your place. You will not come here for any kind of actual smoky, handcrafted barbecue, except OK ribs. I was reminded so much of the hideous beef and pulled pork from Barney's Bar B Q out west on Manchester, that I found myself wondering if this was a new location of Barney's under a new name or if the cook here was trained at Barney's. Two stars are generous and are awarded only because the ribs would not be bad without the syrup. read more

This is our first visit to 3 Bay BBQ since hearing of them. What a unique experience! The smoked brisket sandwich was excellent and my hubby really enjoyed the pork steak sandwich. Regarding the sides we ordered, I must say the potato salad is really tasty... sometimes it's hard to find a great potato salad. This is a good one. The baked beans were very good. Cole slaw was crispy with a southern Carolina type dressing. We definitely will return.... and the owner is the pastry chef... with a nice assortment of great desserts. read more

Ok, I triple love their food. The baked beans are stupendous. The potato chips are crispy, salty and crunchy. The cole slaw is vinegar-based with a touch of sweetness. The pickle spears are delectable, and I could eat 17 more. Now, down to the meats: bone-in pork steak is flavorful, tender and juicy. I am fairly new to the area and wanted to try this BBQ spot. I love smoked barbecue but don't make it just for myself. The pork steak and slaw were both excellent. The pork steak was tender with a great smoky flavor and the slaw was tangy with enough crisp. The ambiance is different--kind of feels like you're going to a secret, hideaway spot that not everybody knows about. I grade a bbq joint on sauce, sides, and smoked meat. Sauce - this is either Sweet Baby Rays, or made to taste just like it. I had a bottle at home and did a side by side to confirm. (-1) Sides - just tried the Mac and cheese. It was fine, but very overcooked. Could've been because I picked up at 6 and it's a lunch spot, but no topping and a mild sauce didn't accomplish the job for me. Smoked Meat - Pulled pork was very wet, both with liquid and bbq sauce. Flavor and smoke were lacking. Wetness means no bark, no dry rub. This is what we call "pan steamed bbq." (-1) Pork steak sandwich was solid and the redeeming item, I would get that again. Bun was fresh, meat was tender enough to eat without a knife. Decently well seasoned. I ended up putting some Pappy's original on it and that really tied it together. (+1) This is BBQ, but I'm a St. Louis boy and you need more than that to get a 4 or 5. read more

Best pulled pork in St Louis! Funky, very clean bbq restaurant located in the former service bays of a still-operating gas station on a busy concern of Clayton Road! Smokers and grills outside, tables inside and out. Very helpful and attentive staff. Order at a small front desk (located in the middle), and they bring your food to your table. The pulled pork, on a brioche bun, was breathtakingly perfect even before the addition of their top rate sauce (served in two small cups on the side). Standard sides well done -I'm positively addicted to their shoestring fries, which of course can also be dunked in the bbq sauce. Can't wait to try the pork steak sandwiches! And desserts too! A BBQ Joint hides behind a gas station. When I see 'BBQ' advertised at a gas station, I really don't expect much. A microwaveable pork-ish thing is what comes to mind. I can't even explain why I would even consider it, since I'm kinda a bbq snob. And yet... Music from a worksite radio. Painted cinder block walls. A wall of overhead doors (how trendy!) Turns out, 3 Bay BBQ's got game. I had the Boneless Baby Back Smoked Sticky Rib Sandwich, and it was quite good. Rich, smoky flavor, the meat was tender, but still had some tooth to it, not falling apart that denotes overcooked 'q. The house made chips came along for the ride, and were also very good. Sweet Baby Ray's is the sauce they serve, which is a suitable complement for their meats. No points subtracted for using an off-the-shelf product. I'd much rather find something like this than an ill-conceived attempt at an 'original' creation. If you're feeling like BBQ, give this place a go, and fill 'er up! read more
