This location is brand new and just recently had their grand opening. Located in Grandview corners this location offers plentiful amounts of parking. Inside was bright, clean and organized. The staff were super energetic and helpful, explaining all the different flavors and options available to suite anyone's preference. If your a Poke lover than you must try this place out. Of all the other places around Metro Vancouver, this one is by far the closest you can get shy of flying to Hawaii. One thing i love about Steves is that the Poke is marinated before they serve it to you. My pet peeve is getting scoops of cubes fish and just have them drizzle the sauce ontop. This is no how proper poke is made. We will definitely be returning

The grilled ones are a special favorite, and they're worth the drive. My favorite is the bourbon one, but the coconut curry is also tasty. We always end up with fries and a whiskey crab soup no matter what - it's an addiction and when I brought my parents, they both got a bowl. They aren't super into raw ones, so I had them all to myself and they're served very simply with lemon and mignonette, which allows the flavors to breathe and really shine. It's casual, but if someone took me on a date here I'd probably marry him. Anyone who is into food will know this is a prime place to wow people, just because it's so good. Service is at the counter, and then it's brought to your table and you bus your own. They have a pretty decent drink selection and the oysters/drinks are featured in their daily happy hour. They have outdoor seating and are dog friendly, which is always extra plusses in my book! Parking is on the street but it's never been really difficult to find a place. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a casual meal with a view.

You won't regret it. Their grilled oysters come in a lot of flavors so try it all from garlic butter to thai curry to whatever else they think of next. Beyond that, we enjoyed their fried seafood basket and shrimp tacos as well. All in all, a nice place to eat at and grab a beer at too

Knowing it would be a busy day, I made a reservation in advance, which I'm glad I did. This restaurant had fairly good reviews, so we decided to give it a try. When we arrived, I was a little surprised. The restaurant was much more casual than I expected, and the ambiance felt a bit dated. We ordered the half dozen fresh oysters, spinach salad, seafood linguine, and the Creole chicken. Unfortunately, the oysters were disappointing. They weren't as plump or flavorful as the fresh oysters I've had in Vancouver, and they were served with tobiko, which I've never seen paired with oysters before. It wasn't a combination I enjoyed. The spinach salad was good, although I thought it was a bit overdressed. The seafood linguine was also enjoyable, with a generous amount of seafood, though I wasn't expecting it to be made with pesto sauce. It was still a tasty dish. The Creole chicken was just okay--the chicken breast was a bit dry, but the sauce helped make up for it. Overall, I felt the prices were a bit high for the quality of the food and the casual atmosphere. It may be a good option by White Rock standards, but if this restaurant were in Vancouver, I don't think it would stand out. That said, the service was excellent. Our server was genuinely friendly, attentive, and provided the best part of our dining experience.

Moby Dick's is obviously a busy place in the summer, being right across from the waterfront -- but…read morein January, it's a sleepy area and the restaurant is active, but not too busy. We found the food unremarkable - standard fish, standard chips, standard coleslaw, standard tartar sauce. All fried food is pretty standard, pretty greasy, but not any better or worse than many fish & chips shops. So why a 3-star rating rather than 4-stars? First, there is there menu and pricing: What is called a 1-piece fish & chips comes with 2 pieces - all identified fish comes with one extra piece. It's a gimmick, and mostly just annoying. 2nd, there is a charge for everything -- Want tartar sauce? There are three sizes, three prices. Want to substitute onion rings for the fries? Can't do it, even with an up-charge, though you can order fish and you can order onion rings, each separately, each with its own price. Coleslaw? Yes, but not instead of fries. And the coleslaw is pricey - a good sized portion, but a substantial price none-the-less. The portion sizes are reasonably large, but the incessant a-la-carte with each item with a price - one feels nickled and dimed to death. The atmosphere - ok, 1950s-ish, nothing special. The staff, friendly and attentive, but young and inexperienced. And then there was the problem with the cooking -- we got 5 pieces of fish (ordered 2 and 1, which is really 2+1 and 1+1 = 5). Four of them were pretty standard. One was undercooked - cooked on the outer edges (under the fried batter), and raw and translucent on the inside. Yes, they took that off the ticket, so I didn't have to pay for it, but biting into a piece of raw fish with the outside so hot it almost burned my mouth and the inside uncooked - not so pleasant. Moby Dick's gets good ratings from many Yelpers, but in my view, it's not worth going out of your way for.

She was on the ball, full of life, with a great smile. It was Wednesday, and you get 30% off wine, so why not share a bottle? I had a Caesar Salad and Mussels, and my better half had the Braised Short Rib Poutine. The Caesar was fresh, and the dressing was as expected. It was drizzled with Balsamic that added a nice twist as it was just a very small amount. Some chefs overdo it and in my mind, run the salad. The mussels had a red sauce that made me nervous at first. I'm traditional and like a garlic butter sauce. I was pleasantly surprised! It was light, and if I didn't see the color, I would have thought it was a lemon garlic sauce, amazing! The Poutine did not have a lot of meat, but the flavor was excellent and overall a great dish. If you are looking for a wonderful view on the coast with a great vibe, this is it! It's like the old-style beachfront place you would find in a movie. Seating is upstairs and its just has this old world feeling. Give it a try!

On their site the ask for a 2 hour time limit and I can see why. Service was a tad slow for my liking but it was quick enough. They gave a large menu and that includes many fish dishes. A good place to go if you want fish. I had the lamb shank which was delicious. Everything was hot when it came to the table. I'm a stickler for being served dinner. One diner ordered the crab bisque. They were sorry the didn't order the bowl. Lots of crab in it. Scallop and prawn salad was ordered and it was very good. The curry Kahula was excellent. The one down fall of this evening was the noise. It is open floor and tables were packed in there. There were a couple of larger parties seated as well. You are on the second floor and I didn't notice how to get a wheel chair or walker to the floor. Had to dock a star for the noise and handicap assesability.
