Had an oil change on my 2018 Golf last week, went home and saw oil pouring out from under car…read more.. went back and was told that they noted it on my paperwork...never told me in person, re-checked it, and said it was from the timing cover, went home again and saw old drip areas, thought it was reasonable... but still pouring out... took to another shop... they replaced the mangled drain plug and fixed the issue... $145 at Valvoline for the oil change and another $130 for diagnose and repair at another shop.... ***note*** also said my air filter and tire pressure good, yet never actually looked at the air filter or set tire pressures... the drain plug and the oil pan are plastic on this car, the drain plug could have been worn out, just tell me.... Luckily I looked under the car after the service or I'd be replacing an engine....called the manager and let home know what happened, did ask what it would take to make it right, I declined, I'm not looking for free stuff, just that it was right the first time.

I stayed with my car and they provided transportation for my lunch party back to work. They were able to patch the tire and it took about an hour just like they said. Despite the fact they had a steady stream of business, they handled my issue in a timely manner and I noticed that they took care of everyone in the same manner. When walking to her vehicle the morning of 11/3 there's a huge wet mark under it and after starting it, it has warning lights and alarm for low oil. Shit happens and anyone can make a mistake, the problem is, RL says it can't be anything we did because it didn't happen the same day. So after I have it towed the mechanic tells me the oil filter loose and almost fell off in his hand. So if you want your engine to blow and nobody to stand behind their work, this is the place to be. The past several times I have been there, they have made a point of trying to sell me additional products and or services. I understand their reasons for this and it is fine, yet a minor annoyance. I just want my oil changed and get outta here. On my most recent visit (my last) I had my tires rotated. Within a few minutes the manager (owner?) Came to me and said my brakes were bad and I was going to need new pads. I declined and a few minutes later she came back indicating that my rotors were also bad. I noted that I would take this vehicle with 200k miles to my longtime trusted mechanic for it's annual inspection and to have the brakes checked. Well, as it turned out, my guy indicated the brakes were okay other than a bit of rust on the rotors for lack of use. The staff here has always been friendly and courteous but I'm not a fan of this type of practice. Just use caution before you commit to an expensive repair.
