A bit pricey would be an understatement, the sign above the peppers says 399 a pound for green peppers, but there's no price for orange or yellow peppers so you assume they are a little bit more, I bring them up to the counter and they are 699 a pound which I feel is a little extreme, the food there is always fresh and the girls behind the register of friendly. read more

Quality is 5 stars plus!!! I love Steve's. However I frequently have trouble with my bill. This was the 3rd time I was charged almost twice the amount I bought. Each time they charged me for the previous customers groceries. This happened once, twice, now 3 times with $35 to $50 overpayment. I always check my receipt. Would not stop me from going. Steve's is great with great food. Always fresh. But. Fix the deli line. I walked away when a skinny classless young lady pretended to look in the case, when they asked who's next she jumped in. Steve's is absolutely the best market I have ever shopped. The produce is not only fresh, I have found the quality and taste to be far above other similar shops and miles ahead of super markets. The meats are fantastic. Much tastier cuts than I have had at other butcher shops. The burgers don't shrink up on the grill because the meat isn't full of water! The skirt, shell, flank, and rib eyes are the best I've ever had. The bread comes from Baltazar's, one of Bergen's finest bakeries. The desserts are all excellent! There is no finer market in Bergen County. Perhaps even the whole state. read more

Excellent Produce...Always, and I mean ALWAYS Fresh. Steve always seems to have the Fruit, vegatables and Balthazar Bread at it's peak of freshness. The Butcher in the back is also excellent, but a little pricey for the quality. It's good, bordering on excellent...but some cuts are no better than supermarket variety. Best place for fresh meat in Ramsey! Staff accommodating and funny! Fresh fruits and veggies. Take home dinners, grocery items, Boar's Head!! Frankie had some creative and inventive menu ideas & the food quality was top-notch. I was just getting to like this place for their fresh meats, coldcuts and fruit. I ordered a fruit basket for my elderly mother and requested that they make it mostly fruit and not cookies or candy since she's diabetic. They told me the basket was $67.00 to send and included 16 pieces of fruit along with some snacks. My mother received 11 pieces of fruit which included 2 apples, 2 pears, 1 mango and 6 tiny clementines, a small box of pretzels and a candy bar. When I asked why it wasn't 16 pieces of fruit, I was told they made a mistake! They refunded $20.00 but I was so embarrassed that my gift looked so cheap. read more
