My cousin's family has used B&M Market for catering for years, and the food and service are always consistently delicious and outstanding. This past weekend, we had a chance to experience something a little different -- a private event my cousin hosted there for his 30th birthday -- and it was fantastic. The event was a seated, sit-down dinner at the market, which isn't something they typically do, but they executed it really well. The evening started with passed appetizers (all delicious, as expected) and a table full of charcuterie. For dinner, my cousin opted for a seated "steak sampling" experience -- almost Brazilian steakhouse-style -- featuring tastings of five different cuts. There was also shrimp scampi served family-style, along with sides like roasted potatoes. Even with varying preferences for steak doneness across the group, they did an impressive job accommodating everyone. Huge props to the B&M team for pulling off something outside their usual offerings so seamlessly. This was my first time in the market itself, and it looked great -- clearly a great destination for quality meats and prepared foods. Exceptional Catering for Our Dinner! I recently used B&M Market in Park Ridge to cater a Dinner for 10, and I can confidently say they overdelivered on every level. From the ordering process to the presentation to the flavors, everything was absolutely top-notch. I also have to give a huge shoutout to the owner, Jon, who was phenomenal to work with from start to finish. Jon took the time to help me build out the perfect menu, offered thoughtful suggestions, and made the entire process smooth and stress-free. His responsiveness and attention to detail really set B&M apart, you can tell he genuinely cares about his customers and takes pride in the food his team puts out. We kicked off the night with a fantastic spread of hors d'oeuvres. The sushi platter was fresh and beautifully presented, and the homemade guacamole with warm, crispy tortilla chips was a standout. The apple smoked bacon in honey chipotle sauce disappeared almost instantly; smoky, sweet, and addictive. The spinach & artichoke puffs were flaky and flavorful, and the bacon-wrapped shrimp tasted like something you'd get at a high-end restaurant. For entrees, everything arrived well-seasoned, and perfectly portioned along with serving/heating instructions. The Bell & Evans chicken parmesan in vodka sauce was a crowd favorite, tender, not overly breaded, and the sauce was rich without being heavy. The prime all-natural skirt steak with scallion sauce was the star. Cooked beautifully and packed with flavor. The pasta dishes, 4-cheese baked ziti and the orecchiette with Italian sausage, spinach, and light red sauce, were both excellent and tasted homemade. The Caesar salad, steamed string beans, and cheesy garlic bread rounded out the meal perfectly. Dessert was a refreshing fresh fruit salad, which was a great balance after the hearty main courses. What impressed me most was the consistency. Every single item was fresh, thoughtfully prepared, and clearly made with high-quality ingredients. Combined with Jon's personal involvement and guidance, the experience was exceptional from beginning to end. If you're hosting an event of any size, B&M Market should be at the top of your list. I dont normally give reviews but I heard people gave bad reviews to the problems they had in the 2024 christmas season. Things happen. Yes, there was a wait. But, the food is FANTASTIC. I've been getting the prime rib since when they were at their previous location, where parking was a nightmare. I love them. I think 've been going for 8 years? Maybe more. I forget the exact number. This was my second time using B&M for lunch catering at my office for a big meeting. Their communication is always great. The variety of sandwiches is fabulous. We had sandwiches, the bowtie pasta salad and Greek salad. As well as fruit and cookies. My attendees had rave reviews about the food after the meeting. It is certainly an elevated presentation and very high quality and delicious food. I had a bit of a hiccup but the way it was handled and the genuine desire to make things right by Jon, the owner were appreciated. Customer service is everything and theirs is the best! They have such an amazing assortment of food for both your catering needs or a night at home. They have everything you could imagine. Their selection of prepared foods is the best around. incredible caterers! I hired Jonathan from B and M to cater my son's first birthday party and it was the best decision I made. Jonathan made my party unforgettable- people could not stop talking about the food and how delicious everything was. from the start, I felt that Jonathan understood my vision and the kind of menu I wanted. I was looking for something a bit fancier than normal and Jonathan really delivered. my guests enjoyed tuna tartar on edible spoons, lobster bisque shooters, the BEST shrimp tempura, and filet mignon. for the kids - of course chicken fingers and mac and cheese balls that even the adults couldnt resist! Jonathan's team was super professional. they left my kitchen cleaner than it was when they arrived and made sure all of the guests had enough to eat. they even helped with beverage service and keeping everything tidy. having Jonathan's team handle the food at my event really helped me to enjoy the party without worry about anything. Attended many events B&M have catered and all excellent. Had a group over one evening after work , called a few days ahead, and it was perfect. Great variety, very tasty and a ton of food! Visited B&M market last week. The people that worked there were super hospitable and explained the different stations, were happy to give catering menus as well. I got 2 NY strip steaks from the butcher section. The meat was super marbled, definitely the meat for you if you enjoy the fat. Super super flavorful and quality steaks! I babied them, seared em in a cast iron skillet with garlic and herb butter. When I come back I will try some of the prepared foods which looked excellent. Their catering menu sounds scrumptious. My boyfriend and I went to B & M Market for the first time. The service was remarkable. The young lady was enthusiastic. She had a passion for the quality of the food she served. Her suggestion to order online for specialty foods was very inviting. Everyone's hospitality was appreciated. We ordered their signature sandwiches. The food, quality and overall flavor, were perfect. We are both chefs. You could tell that the person who made it put their heart and soul into it. I have never tasted ANYTHING like the marinated skirt steak! Even my wife who feels all you need is Salt, Pepper, and Cumin was blown away. Now do not dare leave without a pack of their beef hotdogs. I have used B &M for many years. They are marvelous!!! I am lactose intolerant and there are many different dishes I can eat.

The outstanding thing about this market is their prepared food selection. Just about everything I have tried was excellent. On a recent visit, the winning item was veal parmigiana - restaurant quality, great cheese, and topped with a bit of vodka sauce. Sides of string beans and pasta salad hit the spot as well. The butchered meats are also excellent - on recent visit picked up some well marbleized Australian wagyu. In between you will find seasoned or marinated chicken, the work is done but you cook at home. I was very happy with both the seasoning and trimming on the chicken thighs I tried on this visit. There are also nicely packaged store made sausages. Check the freezer - I am partial to their meatballs - which come in marinara or vodka sauce. One thing they might improve on is checkout - this is handled by your butcher and you don't get an itemized receipt. Overall this is one of the best examples of this type of store as both the butchered meats and prepared foods are top notch. read more

It's a cute little market, more like a deli - they don't have many grocery items, mostly prepared foods, cuts of meat and seafood. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. They were able to give me a receipt when I asked for one, but it's not itemized, but he quickly went over what each charge was - but I forgot once I walked out. The food: Chicken noodle soup- very good broth, vegetables are diced very small (not my personal preference) Quinoa salad- is was ok to good, lemony and refreshing Broccoli rabe- very garlicky and delicious Ribs - ok, good flavor, slightly dry Mexican corn- cheese was good, but it was dry. I think it's the nature of grilled corn that you reheat again yourself. Mac and cheese- very cheesy and good, so much cheese I actually wished there was more mac. I recommend this place for quick foods and catering. My only wish is that there could be clearer pricing - no prices listed in the prepared food case. And I wish the packaged prepare foods, chicken noodle soup and Mac and cheese had sell by or packaged dates. read more

This is not your ordinary butcher shop. This place is cute and has outdoor seating for you to enjoy the food that they offer. The staff is friendly and give suggestions on what to try. The moment I entered, I was greeted with a friendly hello . The service was great even though they get a bit busy they try to handle everything quickly. I had the mac & cheese and crabcakes and both were delicious and very fulfilling. I also ordered buffalo chicken eggrolls, which I cannot wait to try and steak and cheese quesadilla. We eat out a lot- we buy quality meat at the butcher's- Kings, fresh market, Wegmans- The last one is that I bought a kielbasa- what poor quality- worse than Hillshire farms- totally salty fat!!! Ah my favorite recurring Saturday errand. "What's that honey? You want me to run over to B&M quick? Ok - back in a jiffy!" That's the sound of $250 just disappearing from my pocket in an instant and I kid you not - this experience could be considered a bargain at twice the price. Don't let that number scare you - I'm a sucker and I don't care who knows it. I chat them up - ask about what's good - bullshit with the owner - ask a million stupid questions all so I can stack 5 or 6 meals worth of meat, cheese, frozen foods, bread and side dishes into 3 brown bags and gleefully hand over a credit card without a second of hesitation or remorse. The steaks and pork chops are better than any you can find locally - the crab cakes come with a ridiculous pink horseradish sauce that you'll end up putting on everything else on the plate - and there's this cooler by the door with meatballs in a vodka sauce that I just can never seem to finish (even though they're amazing). Last time I went there the lady who helped me just shoved a baguette under my arm as I made my way to the exit and even though it was like a $3 gesture it made me feel like my business was well-appreciated. I can't say enough wonderful things about this business. I came across Jonathan and his gang 4 years ago when looking to cater a party. He did the entire shebang, soup to nuts. I had not one single complaint. In fact everything was fabulous. I then proceeded to go in, sporadically, and pick up butchered meats and prepared foods. Never had anything that wasn't delicious. I also discovered a cut of beef that I hadn't been familiar with and it is now my go-to favorite for entertaining a group (Tri-tip). Just yesterday, my husband brought home a vegetable stuffed chicken breast and, seriously, the most delicious fried rice that I've ever tasted. Trust me! The experience started slow, the girl behind the counter was not well versed in the menu or food, but when Jonathan saw she was struggling he came over to assist. Well the menu and ideas were great, we were satisfied with what we ordered. When the food came, there were no instructions from them, but all is well. The chicken and beef was was amazing, awesome, and potatoes were ok. There was more food that we needed, and my criticism is just, if you charge such a large price for great food, don't serve cheap out the can/powdered sauces with the food. Decided at the last minute to splurge on a New Year's Eve meal from an upscale market and ended up at B&M. After perusing the many prepared offerings -- also butcher cases full of excellent looking meats -- we chose a chicken barley soup and a prepared surf and turf entree for two (prime rib, lobster tails, broccolini and mashed potato). Quality is top notch and my wallet lightened substantially. It was a bit less than what I would expect to pay for similar dishes in a steakhouse. However, for the non-restaurant price, the quantity of prime rib and the 2 tiny lobster tails was just okay. Nevertheless, the food was delicious, well seasoned, cooked perfectly (meat was rare, allowing for reheating) and packed nicely in a reheat-able tray. The sides were excellent. The soup by itself could be a star with lots of chicken and barley in a tasty and creamy chicken broth. We were quite satisfied and happy with our choice. Service was friendly and the staff answered lots of questions. Our one complaint was that reheating instructions were promised but not included. So we "winged" it, somewhat successfully. As a meat market with excellent prepared items B&M has what it takes for an excellent home cooked or catered meal. B&M Market doesn't put prices on their deli items so then they charge whatever they want that day, is that legal? For a single Chicken breast cutlet I was charged $17.99 a cutlet. For that price, I can get a whole chicken dinner at a restaurant with sides. The owner stands there and pressures you and it's like he is counting every penny. The chicken cutlet was dry. The chili was tasteless. They got me good on my first visit but it was a expensive mistake. read more

We had a dinner party Saturday night and I went to B& M for the meat and the owner, Jonathan ended up making some suggestions and I ended up ordering everything from him! It was the most delicious dinner ever and all of my guests were totally amazed how excellent everything was! We had steak, grilled salmon, grilled vegetables, stuffed eggplant, caprese salad, and even guacamole and home made chips! Truly the BEST! They have fully cooked food to take out any day of the week besides 5 star meat and fish! I can't wait to go back to B&M soon!
