Practically unheard of for an autobody shop! California Collision is one of those unicorns. My only regret is not hearing of them sooner. Reflecting back on my involuntary experience of being the receiving end of a rear-end collision on the freeway, California Collision was the clear stand out. Not only did they get my BMW back on the road like it never happened, they handled it like a concierge would. Take that from a regular business traveler that works in the private equity world. George and Team handled everything in my best interests. They are an honest to goodness family business; the real deal- they all share the same last name. The first thing George did during the drop-off process was insist on giving me a walk-thru tour of the *entire* shop and work area. Other shops hesitate and deflect with these requests but George volunteers it first thing without even being asked. After using the restroom on the way out, there was not a corner I didn't see. Communication and customer service is first class- my calls, messages, and emails were always returned in a timely manner. They dealt with insurance and the car rental. I didn't have to do anything besides provide approvals. The job was done exactly how I wanted and even exceeded expectations. My BMW is older now and I expected aftermarket parts but I ended up coming out with all OEM parts at 0 expense to me. Even my optional factory/ OEM+ M-division performance parts were handled. Color match and fit were factory perfect. George is a perfectionist and personally inspects your vehicle after work is done and only releases back to you after it passes his high expectations. I have never ever ever been spoiled by a body shop like this.

He always says bring it back after it cures, but never has a time available to return. It was the worst experience I have ever had. I was told he had high standards and excellent quality, not true. We discussed using a factory OEM windshield replacement with the correct "Cavalino" prancing horse on the rock damaged glass, and repair of the front bumper from rock damage. He then proceeded to keep the car for 25 days for these repairs in the July heat of California. For that time period, he left my car in the July sun damaging the dash beyond repair and now needs to be replaced. The car was backed out of his shop and left facing west everyday without covering it or protecting the interior. The dash is now bubbled, defrost vents crooked, and canvas top of the spider is faded. Upon receiving the car back, I immediately noticed the damage and fact that he used a non factory windshield on the car. A factory windshield runs about $4800 while Frank bought a cheap one at $1700...while still charging the $4800 to me. I called Frank, who immediately refused to look at the car or speak to me anymore as "I" was now some kind of enemy. He suggested I go to his buddy, an upholstery shop, in Redwood city and see if he would backup my story of sun damage. Of course, his buddy would not. After contacting Frank through email, he stated to "prove it" and that was that. Well, after suing him in court, I did "prove it" and won the case. I then had to perform a bank levy as Frank would not pay the court ordered judgement. He still has a small balance he refuses to pay. He might know how to do body work but he is a crappy businessman and person. He uses his position in the Ferrari Club Of America to gain new business as well, as he is the current president of the Northern Calif chapter and uses that position for credibility. He won't back up his work or his word. I also had the Bureau of Automotive repair investigate his work on my car and he was cited for violating my rights as a consumer four (4) times. Don't trust this guy. go elsewhere.
