I got a new car this week so I had not gotten a new parking sticker and even when they can see it's clearly a new car with temporary plates they tow it and charge me $100 cash to drop it, no warning or anything. We had our Honda stolen back on 3/31, it was recovered by riverside county sheriffs yesterday. OFCOURSE The sheriffs had it towed rather than actually calling the owner of the vehicle. When my boyfriend called the guy was super nice and willing to accommodate him with us getting there before they closed. We got there around 3 today, they were nice enough to check out the condition of the car before getting it out and paying the $400 to recover the car. He even helped my Bf get a screw driver to try to start it since the ignition was messed with. Extremely helpful, was pretty friendly and made the process of getting our stolen car back. Nobody is ever happy about paying a towing company to retrieve their stolen car, in this case the blame of the $400 we had to pay to get our car that was stolen out is totally on the sheriffs department. Can't say I'd recommend this place because if your stolen car ends up here, you don't get a choice but if it does end up here, they seem to be friendly and willing to work with you. read more

We needed our 1/2 ton truck towed over for a break job to our mechanics 4 miles away from home. We scheduled this tow on a Friday through AAA, who in turn contracted with Steve's for a tow Saturday morning. Steve's Towing no showed our appointment time, so we subsequently contacted AAA to find out what happened. Steve's apparently "declined the tow" which left us in the lurch with our mechanic and without a vehicle (over Father's Day Weekend) until the following Monday when a new tow request could be re-arranged. I have no idea why they "declined the tow" except to say that, at only 4 miles, it wasn't the kind of tow that would produce a big fat invoice to AAA!!! read more

Hey everybody, my initial experience was not a good one. My car needed to be towed from a dealership to an automotive shop. YESENIA from steve's towing called me to confirm the tow. She started to explain to me how when they went over 7 miles there was an extra charge, so I asked her if the extra charge start from the actual company site or did it start from the dealership which i believe is a valid quesrion. she became annoyed with me and started to annunciate her words, like i was not understanding english or like I was a child and repeated what she had said to me in a rude manner. Completely rude the whole time! Yesenia needs stronger coffee in the morning or anotuer job that makes her happy because she clearly is not happy! OK, moving on so next we have our tow truck driver, who came out and meet me at the dealership, kept us updated the whole time and was just a pleasure to be around, very professional and courteous. Last night, AAA and Steve's Towing in Perris CA left us stranded in the heat for over two hours. While the mechanic who finally was kind yet filled with the same excuses as the rude woman in their office who blamed us for their problems and being upset. She dress to be fired immediately. The real problem is that AAA never answered the phone once in those two hours. They simply take our money and don't care. I had been using Steve's towing for years as they are part of AAA road side assistance. And it wasn't until this year that I received horrible service. The first incident occurred at 3am on a dark and foggy road in Perris. Mother had run off the road and tow service showed up and said he couldn't help without the police. He then proceeded to call the police and HE LEFT US (2 WOMEN ON THE SIDE OF A DARK ROAD) when the police arrived they said there was no need for police intervention and said the tow service was wrong in leaving. They should have waited until police showed. We then contacted TOWN & COUNTRY TOWING in perris and the police waited with us as the vehicle was in a dangerous location. The second incident took over an hour and a half to respond with no phone calls to update us on the status of our wait. I submitted complaints with AAA in regards to electing TOWN & COUNTRY as an alternative to Steve's Towing as well as receiving reimbursements for charges incurred from having to use a different tow service. read more

It's impossible to say everything that I want to here because this is a family site. However, I will give you my opinion of this company, based on my many years of seeing their work and having two bad experiences with them myself. I am retired law enforcement and Steve's towing was one of many tow companies on our rotation list. I always dreaded when dispatch would tell me that Steve's Tow was on their way. Often incompetent and the drivers almost always had bad attitudes. I would often get complaints about them for various issues, including items missing from vehicles and of-course, the prevalent accusation of over-charging. Two personal experiences with Steve's Tow has reinforced my opinion that this is a terrible company. The latest event involved one tow driver training a new hire. Apparently, showing him how to be a complete jerk. He was rude, obnoxious and completely out of line. Thankfully, the new hire was quite nice. Please look at all of the bad remarks on here about them, over many years. Several of these folks warn about staying away from Steve's Towing at all costs. My most recent experience in March 2020, tells me that nothing has changed at Steve's. I would not recommend them to my worst enemy. read more
