This place should be investigated for their predatory practices. They illegally towed my vehicle claimed to have proof from property owner that the vehicle was lawfully towed but denied my verbal and written request for the proof. The guy at the window was acting like a giant baby and that's putting it nicely. He shut the blinds on me as I was speaking and then threatened to tow me from their parking lot just so I would have to pay double the fees. Great job towing EVERYONE you can in the hopes they can't come up with the $500 to not have their car auctioned, even when you don't legally have the right to tow someone! Truly an accomplishment of awful business ownership. We got illegally towed, pointed it out, and then had our car returned at no charge immediately, because the owner knew he screwed up. Absolutely awful experience. Predatory pricing and extremely unprofessional behavior. This towing company charged me $375 for a tow that took no more than 20-25 minutes total -- my house is just 4 minutes away from their lot. When I asked for a breakdown of the charges (which any reasonable person would do), I was met with rude, hostile behaviour. Charging for a full hour when only a fraction of that time was used is misleading and potentially in violation of California's consumer protection standards. According to the California Vehicle Code §22651.07 and related regulations, towing companies are expected to pro-rate hourly charges based on actual time spent, unless clearly stated otherwise in a manner compliant with the law. Instead of calmly explaining the bill, the staff became defensive and outright threatening -- saying things like "We don't have to release your car," and "The longer you wait, the more it'll cost you." It felt like they were using fear and pressure to force me to pay without question. That's not customer service -----that's intimidation. They also tacked on a $75 storage fee despite the car being there for barely over an hour. It's clear they're not billing based on time or fairness -- they're charging flat-hour rates and hoping people won't fight back. I'm filing formal complaints with the California BAR, CPUC, and BBB. They'll tack on whatever they can make up. my best friend got towed from my complex back in November for accidentally parking in someone else's spot. we went to pick it up and she paid $650! when we asked for the breakdown they didn't provide an itemized receipt but gave us numbers. fast forward to today. i had my car wrongfully towed by a deputy from Victoria Gardens and even the police department waived the fees for the release form. they unfortunately couldn't do anything about the tow fee. I went to get my car 3 hours after it got towed and was invoiced $630!!!! Practically the same amount as my friend had when her car spent time overnight. This is a really very bad and unfair towing company. They towed my car from my complex on a sunday morning for no damn reason and it is a lowered car and modified nicely looking and there was no warning or nothing and they tow it and they charge me extra day storage when I was there after 24 exactly and they have damaged my car bumper, like the inside of it all broken, the outside cracked the OEM and aftermarket parts and dented my front lip, they are really very bad and said we aren't responsible and I called them and they Hangup on me, I had to pay 520$ or so to get it out. They are the worst towing company and very rude staff members work there who hate their jobs and their lives I bet on it, hopefully karma gets that tow truck driver one day to his own car and see how it feels. So today 1-31-2025 about 230 pm I seen this guy towing a car, looked like either a Mazda or a toyota rav4 the car was white in color and to remind you the car had awd. Awd vehicle gotta either be on a flat bed are run dolly's on the rear wheels. I followed the driver up the street till he decided to put the dolly's on the rear. I took a picture but it came out bad. You can his truck on a side street putting dolly's on rear. The driver was mexican and had a shaved head. The vehicle wasn't mine, I'm just a good samaritan that happen to see this take place. What can I say Steve's towing is he worst. They towed the wrong car and then charged me 181.00 to stop towing it. This was at the Arte apartments and the person who called to tow a tesla that was parked illegally for over 2 hours wasn't towed but the Toyota unloading was towed. Tow truckndrivers should know the difference between a Tesla and a Toyota or get a new job. He charged 150 if we paid cash WTH? Steves towing is just a scam they make their money from wrong tows. When towing i specified to the driver and the upland police department TO NKT ENGAGE MY BRAKES AT ALL. They blew my caliper. They engaged the brake. They completely destroyed my caliper. I called and told them about the incident steve hung up in my face. CLAIMED and lied that the triple a driver turned my car on and unsafely loaded the car in to a flat bed and engaged the break. My car was illegally towed by this company. I was not parked in a non parking zone. Further more the company towed my car with my dog in the car also with my new born babies diaper bag and formula in the car. When I went to go pick up my car they denied me my right to get my car that night. I had to wait till next morning to obtain my car and still had to pay a fee of $610.00. Also there was a scratch on the back of my car which I filed a claim with my insurance. On the invoice it states my rights which was "you have the right to have the vehicle released to you upon payment" I advise the company multiple times I would pay the fee because I needed my babies items and my dog. I recently moved into these apartments off of Archibald . My first night there parked both of my vehicles in open spaces and locked both vehicle. Woke up around 6:30 am to leave for work and found both of my vehicle gone, called Steve's towing and questioned why they had taken my cars and made up that someone had called to report. Didn't make any sense spoke to my leasing office and told they should have never taken my cars if I'm a resident there. This company is the worst with customer service and take advantage of ppl. Steve's towing towed my brand new car in the middle of the night, which was parked in the parking garage of my apartment building that requires a special parking sensor to enter. They do random patrols of the parking lots and garage and will tow away a car with no notice given to the owner of the vehicle or even to the building. If I did not have location tracking on my car, I would have had no way of knowing where my car was for several hours until my leasing office opened. It is simply unethical to tow a car from an apartment building garage without even checking in with the leasing office first, since the property belongs to them. When confronted about it they said they never entered the vehicle, but now when I get my car washed now I have water leak through the door. The reason the did this is because they already lifted my car and partially knocked the front bumper off on the curb.
