Highly recommend. The restaurant is very accommodating. We had asked for a window seat for a special occasion and they easily provided it to us. The attention to detail and service was great. All the staff were super friendly and efficient. Food was tasty hot and the star are their seafood dishes as expected. If you want a quieter dinner come earlier as it gets more lively later in the evening.

Classic excellent food, really great service and so nice to see the place recover well after the fire damage from Super Grocer! The Fathers Day brunch today was crab cakes eggs benny and a classic Caesar! So good and just enough for a good brunch size.

Steveston Seafood House 3951 Moncton Street, Richmond, BC Food Fresh Oysters A dozen freshly shucked oysters served on ice. The oysters were fresh and okay to eat, but the flavor was light and not very salty. They didn't have that firm bite or strong ocean taste that really stands out. Overall, they were fine but nothing special. 6/10 Cauliflower Fritters Accompanied by coriander and jalapeño chutney. The fritters were lightly crisp with a gentle earthiness from the cauliflower. The chutney introduced a touch of heat and herbal brightness, giving the dish a balanced flavor, though it did not transcend expectations. 7/10 Fried Calamari Light batter with shallots and chipotle aioli. The seasoning was enjoyable, and the aioli had a mild smokiness; however, the calamari itself lacked the desired crunch, resulting in a softer texture than ideal. 6/10 Homemade Seafood Chowder A comforting and well-executed chowder with pleasing depth. The seasoning was balanced, and the broth had a smooth, creamy richness that didn't overwhelm the seafood. One of the more memorable dishes of the evening. 9/10 Sablefish Marinated in miso, sake, and mirin, finished with toasted sesame seeds. The sablefish was tender, silky, and beautifully moist. The marinade added a gentle sweetness and umami warmth that complemented the natural richness of the fish. Well prepared and thoughtfully balanced. 9/10 "Mighty Fraser" Filet Mignon Filet mignon topped with Pacific crab sauce and béarnaise, ordered rare. The steak was cooked confidently and seasoned well, with the crab sauce adding a pleasing layer of richness. However, the mashed potatoes served alongside were notably dry and lacked creaminess, which detracted from the overall harmony of the plate. 8/10 Ambiance The dining room is clean, comfortable, and subtly nautical in character -- unfussy, with a touch of local charm. 8/10 Service Service was friendly and courteous. While not overly descriptive or interactive, the team maintained attentiveness and a warm demeanor throughout the evening. 8/10 Price Pricing is reasonable for the quality and location, particularly the oyster offerings, which are competitively priced. Overall Impression Steveston Seafood House offers a steady and enjoyable seafood dining experience, with a few standout dishes such as the chowder and sablefish that highlight the kitchen's strengths. Though some plates could benefit from refinement, the restaurant's comfortable ambiance, fair pricing, and classic coastal charm make it a worthwhile visit. I look forward to returning to explore more of the menu.

Enjoyed the ambiance and food here. The service is also great, they got us more bread a few times. The best part was the oysters! A buck a shuck! Will come back for more seafood!

You can smell seafood as you enter this restaurant. Lol. They were busy but they have a table for 2 open so we got seated right away. What can I say? It was seafood heaven! We shared the Appetizer Platter and a Red Thai Seafood Bowl. Everything was delicious and I can't get enough of the Seafood Bowl. It had tons of fish, clams, mussels, shrimps and scallops. The broth was excellent with the perfect balance of heat from the Thai chili and sweetness from the coconut milk. It was excellent and a must try. I told Chris if we ever come back here, I'd order it again, and again and again and we won't be sharing anymore. Lol.

Sunday brunch is great! Cute place and nice ambience. Food tasted so good! It was cold and my seafood thai soup is so huge and tasty! Wish it comes with a garlic bread tasted. There is no $7.5 for 6 oyster during sunday brunch.

This restaurant has wonderful customer service and very attentive staff. The owner, Shane, is a true delight! It is a great place for date night, parties and private events (inquire with the restaurant on those options of course!) The oysters were a bit lacklustre in size so that was the only overall disappointment. The jumbo prawn cocktail is an easy crowd favourite as well as the devils on horseback's - I mean who can resist bacon wrapped scallops? Their calamari and sweet Thai chicken is good but nothing I'd particular run back for. The sablefish is so light and tender. The mighty Fraser was cooked to perfection and the vegetables portion was absolutely great! I am so over going to places that serve 2 tiny veggies and call it a day! They were roasted well and very flavourful. The tiramisu was done wonderfully. Light and you could really taste the layers! The blueberry cheesecake is a great staple too. Moist and decadent and not at all overpowering with the compote. Overall it is a wonderful dining experience - a bit in the pricier end but it's worth it for the right occasion. There is street parking available in and outside of the village.

The Stevenson Seafood House has been on my radar for a long time after hearing wonder reviews from friends living in the area. I was excited to get a table with my friend for the 2023 Dine Out this weekend; however, it was a disappointment. Maybe it's the Dine Out which can be rushed? To be fair, I will come back at another time to give it another try and select seafood and not beef. For our Dine Out Selection, the entire table of 4 selected the same: Homemade Clam Chowder, AAA Filet Mignon (6oz with grilled seasonal vegetables, roasted potatoes and lemon béarnaise) and one of each of Lemon Tart and Tiramisu to share between 2 people. Food: the clam chowder was delicious and had full clam flavours and came to the table warn. One of my friend received a very small portion of beef. Very noticeable and we inquired. Was told it shrunk due to cooking but offer another smaller piece. It was nice of them but not in a very friendly manner. Three asked for medium-rare and one asked for medium and all not consistently cooked. We were not sending back as it would be wasteful and the seasoning was fair. The tiramisu was frozen. Guess it's a new style? The Lemon tart was very smooth and full of tartness but after eating a few bites, I notice a purple colour under the tart and when I inquired it was blueberry. I'm highly allergic to blueberry and took Benadryl when I got home. The lemon tart was not listed on the menu with details but only as house dessert incase they run out and able to offer what was left. Service: we were warmly welcomed upon arrival but everything seemed to slide from there. Our waitress was friendly but really didn't have time get to know us or even to ask in there were any food allergies at our table. Very robotic and I could see her running off her feet serving a large section. I don't blame her as it was a busy evening. We just felt like another "Dine Out Table" as they say - in and out! Ambience: the restaurant was lightly dimmed so created a warm atmosphere. No music so easy to chat within the table. We didn't feel relax that night as it was not a smooth dining

A big chunk of meh. Having eaten an excellent seafood meal a couple nights before in Victoria, this place just sadly paled in comparison. The first sign of trouble was when we were seated and some employees and other dine-in customers were not masked. My family was also not checked at all for any proof of vaccination, despite it being mandatory for restaurants the week we dined there. We ordered the seafood chowder, crab shrimp avocado salad, red thai seafood bowl, beef carpaccio, calamari, and raw oysters. You know you were in for a bad time when the best part of the meal was the raw oysters and the salad, and even then both were merely passable. The calamari and red thai seafood bowl both lacked any taste. The seafood chowder was also quite light in flavour, though not as bland as the calamari and red thai. Overall everything lacked flavour and tasted almost the same, except the oysters and the avocado salad. While service to us was good, we saw through the fact clients and employees were not masked at times, plus they didn't follow protocols. Due to this we won't recommend this place to people we know.

APPETIZERS: Complimentary bread 7.5/10: Served warm, crust is crunchy w/ a soft centre. The butter with it wasn't too special tho. Fresh shucked oysters, $18 for 1 dozen, 8.5/10: Smooth & sweet, but a little tiny! Only improvement is to make sure the sizes are consistent. ENTREE: Marinated miso sablefish $39, 9/10: Soo soft and buttery, melted in my mouth! The miso flavor was pretty subtle & I enjoyed the asian touch w/ the bok choy. The rice also compliments the fish nicely although it was kind of dry. Overall still pretty good! DESSERTS $7 each: Cookies n cream cake, 8.5/10: Surprisingly not too sweet, and there's a good balance between the cream and cake. More cookie bits would've been better for a unique texture! Apple crumble, 7/10: Good amount of apple & crisp with the cinnamon flavor! I would've enjoyed it more if it was hot since it was luke warm. DRINK: Cranberry mojito mocktail $5, 8/10: Tangy and sweet with a hint of fizz! Doesn't taste watered down at all so I recommend this one. Price & portions are great! For 10 ppl it was around less than $700 w/ appies, drinks, entrees, and dessert. I recommend going for the seafood since that's what they're known for! The exterior of the place is old cause Steveston Seafood House has been there for decades, but the interior will surprise you! It's kinda in between casual and classy, so you can go for a nice gathering or a date The service was lovely too. Me & my family did not feel rushed at all cause there's a 3 hour limit for larger groups! The manager who was our server was polite and humorous, which made our experience more enjoyable.

There's no way to properly describe our "meal". My drink was way off balance and I felt like I had a glass Of cheap vodka (not Ketel one). Our scallops in bacon were pretty decent although the sear was a little lacking... but it went downhill from there. Calamari wasn't cleaned and we ended up with a long piece of cartilage that was missed. Filet mignon with pacific crab...medium rare. We received blue rare (maybe even a bit less than blue rare) and when we confronted the waitress (she was sweet though). The chef didn't fire new steaks...but threw these back in the pan. Now for you and I, that doesn't make a difference... But it's grounds to have a restaurant close it's doors from the health and safety officers. It should've been thrown away and restarted once a plate touches the table, it never goes back in the kitchen. Unfortunately, when the steaks arrived back to us... there was a new problem. The chef/owner never let the steaks rest and because of that, the béarnaise sauce was watery as hell and it up being a bloody mess on the plate. We could've used a desert bowl for all the blood and juice So after all of this is said and done... Did the restaurant comp our meal for all the problems? Did they offer us 20% off our bill or even offer us free desserts? No... Handed us a bill for almost $200 as if everything was fine

And while there are no shortage of seafood restaurants serving fresh crab on the Steveston waterfront, we wanted to give The Crab King a fair shake. I'm so glad that we did! My wife ordered a King Crab for herself which, after tearing it literally limb-from-limb, eventually declared it to be tied for her favorite boiled crab dish anywhere! High praise coming from such a consummate crustacean connoisseur! For myself and our son, an order of fish and chips, and the grilled chicken sandwich rounded out our order, both of which were crispy, tasty and delicious. Regarding the fish and chips, they appeared to be tempura-battered, and I'm still not 100% sure what type of fish it was. It may have been cod, but it seemed more like catfish, but either way, it was tender, juicy, flaky and delicious. No complaints here! More than anything, though, the employees here went out of their way to make our experience enjoyable. Our toddler son, who is normally extremely well-behaved in restaurants, was having a bit of a fuss here and there. Without prompting, the servers brought us a little radio to play music for him, as well as a couple of toys to play with, one of them being a wind-up truck that they gave to him to take home! He loved it there, and still plays with it at home! They even played peek-a-boo with him from behind the counter, soliciting laughs and giggles, for the better part of 15 minutes! That sort of customer service is nearly impossible to find, and should be praised and cherished wherever it is found! Whatever the past may have held for this restaurant, the Crab King is an entirely new animal now, serving up fresh seafood by uncommonly wonderful employees, in a fantastic floating location. They even offer to cook spot prawns and other seafood purchased from the boats docked at the nearby waterfront marketplace, for a modest fee. With all these things going for it, there's no doubt who wears the crown of Crab King in Steveston Harbor!

Look no further than here for super fresh seafood and house made drinks…read more I read about fisherman Frank's story a couple of weeks ago and how the food truck came to be. I like supporting local businesses and food is an easy way to do that since we need to eat. It was closed the first time I went. Good thing the hours were posted on the food truck. So I came back again and got to try the special. Grilled snapper with Greek and orzo salad. The snapper was so fresh. It was sweet and tender. The Greek salad was also good, no limp-looking vegs. Crunchy and juicy cucumbers, peppers and tomatoes. The tomato was bursting with juice every time I stabbed it with the fork. I gave up and just popped it into my mouth. Yums. The street corn was also sweet and juicy with a bit of char. Love the toppings on it. There was a promo for street corn and drink ($8). I had the ginger citrus iced tea. The iced tea was lightly sweetened and I found it just right for my taste. The ginger and citrus flavor was very subtle, not overpowering. I like that they made it in house. None of those powder or box tea. I will definitely be back to try the other items on the menu. Friendly staff too. Prices are a bit on the high side for a food truck but the quality justified it. Nothing worse than paying more for mediocre food. They were ok but nothing special. I feel like I could have similar wings buying it frozen from the grocery store and at $2.50/wing. I cant justify that. Seafood Pasta 3/5. For something that was almost $30 I expected more. The amount and size of seafood was fine but I had expected more flavour like grilled prawns or seared scallops. Seems like it was all poached so there was no colour and everything was the same texture, colour, and flavour. It was cooked well and tender, but for the price, I would have liked some crust on my scallops and I could not taste the lobster in the sauce. Overall, it was seasoned well and still tasted good. Calabrese Salami Pizza 3.5/5 Crust was crispy and thin. Good amount of salami. Could have used more olives. The oven made the salami nicely crisp on the edges. However, there was no basil as noted on the menu. Just a little bit of basil oil drizzled on the center. Overall, if you want a comfortable place to sit and catch up with friends, this is a good place for it. The food while okay, could use some improvement.
