Quiet place in the evenings, our server was friendly and quick. We did not eat just tried the white sangria which was light , sweet and citrusy. Also tried the chocolate dessert , it was a kind of rich chocolate mousse with berry sauce and a shell of hardened chocolate. Very good but a little pricy for what it is.

Had a wonderful happy hour/ dinner here. We got the mussels which were some of the best I have ever eaten. The broth was incredible. We also got oysters and the charcuterie plate which felt like a pretty good value. The customer service started off excellent. The host was accommodating and seated us quickly. I think we were soon forgotten however and service slowed way down. The interior is nicely decorated. I think it is worth skipping the nearby view at Joeys for the food we had here.

Had a very good dinner starting off with a couple happy hour dishes, the fried chicken bites that were very tender juicy and well seasoned, as well as a nice charcuterie board of mixed cheese, olives gherkins, salami, raspberry compote, mustard and crackers. For dinner the Nicoise salad was a healthy mixture of greens, tomatoes, potatoes, cucumber, topped with slices of seared tuna and anchovies. The seared scallop mushroom risotto was flavorful and creamy with three scallops nicely cooked. Service was great, friendly and attentive.

We stayed at the seaside hotel and bought the breakfast package to dine at this restaurant. The food looked amazing when it came out. I was surprised by the big portions. The food was good although the two pieces of bread were a bit dry. Overall I was satisfied with my breakfast here and it kept me full for a long time!

Great Happy Hours are hard to find and grateful we came to North Van for this gem! Loved their fantastic menu and their shrimp cocktail is exactly what you'd like. Huge fresh shrimp with some tasty cocktail sauce along and beautiful (and edible) garnish. Also ordered their buttermilk fried chicken which was nice and juicy! When they have oysters... definitely get them! Fantastic and super worth it at only $1.50 each :) And of course, truffle fries. Yes, that was our dessert and last minute add. Glad we did as it was a nice finish to the meal. Make sure to drop by here if you're in the neighborhood! #eatthewongway #foodporn #food #foodpic #foodie #foodphotography #delicious #nomnom #supportlocal#foodiesinternational #foodpics #foodphoto #foodart #foodiegram #foodielife #foodstagram #goodfood #vancouverfoodie #vancouverisawesome #vancouverfood

    Lobster roll (CAD $15)

Cute restaurant located inside the Seaside hotel at the shipyard. We wanted something light after a day of gluttony and Seaside Provisions delivered. We walked in on a Sunday evening and were seated right away. - Floradora (CAD $15): If you're a fan of ginger beer, this is the drink for you. Heavy on the ginger taste. 3/5 - Tuna tatake (CAD $24): OK 3/5 - Lobster roll (CAD $15): Heavy on the shrimp moreso than the lobster. I could tell by taste and not what it looked like since it was all ground up together. The brioche roll tasted like it was a day too old. I saw in some pics they used to serve it on a buttered lobster roll. That might have been better. The highlight was the fresh arugula salad it came with. 2/5 Both food and drink had nice presentations.

Had a great first visit to Seaside Provisions which is located in the Shipyards in North Vancouver. They offer seating inside and limited seating outside, as well. From 3-6pm Tuesday to Sunday which includes half off small plates and $1 oysters. We ordered the fried chicken which was so good and the $1 oysters. I think this is one of the few places that still offers buck and shuck! Would definitely return to try some other small plates but be sure to reserve your table on Fridays or Saturdays as they can get quite busy!

This is a great option in the North Shore for some happy hour specials. We enjoyed the meal and the service was excellent. Staff were friendly and stopped by regularly to clear finished plates and take more orders.

    Pineapple Express

Located right at the North Shore shipyard, inside the Seaside Hotel, there's this cute lil' gem. I was on date night with hubs, and made a reso on the morning of. Once we went in, we were greeted and sat promptly. I ordered a Pineapple Express cocktail to start, and we decided to go for the seafood chilled platter. All the seafood is fresh and delicious!!! They used all the East Coast raw oysters, Raspberry points from the Atlantic Ocean. Mussels are plump and juicy, not the dry and small ones. The salmon and tuna sashimi are fine as well. I just wish the prawns had more bounciness and a bit more chew to it. I then ordered a bouillabaisse and hubs ordered the scallop risotto. The portion of my bouillabaisse is huge, and that halibut is to die for! All the clams, mussels and steelhead goodness in not a classic tomato broth, but in a mildly spicy dashi is so refreshing and enhanced the seafood flavour even more. The scallop risotto that hubs ordered, if you just eat the risotto alone, it's a bit bland, but if you have scallop and risotto in each bite, you can taste the ocean, saltiness, butter and lemon all at once. I particularly love their presentation on the scallop risotto, which they made an in-house shell-like pastry to mimick the scallop shells, which I find very cute. Services were very attentive throughout - server would come to fill our water, take away the shell buckets without us asking. We ordered a cocktail, two 9oz white wine, seafood tower and two mains, and the bill came to be $230. With the quality of food, portion and service, I think that's reasonable and would definitely come back.

    Happy Hour Oysters

I work near Lonsdale Quay and Seaside Provision restaurant that is in Seaside Hotel, well let's say why didn't I hear about this amazing restaurant? Happy Hour with co-workers, the food and drinks were delicious! The oysters well so fresh and good size. We wanted to order another dozen but they sold out during Happy Hour. The Wagyu flank steak with shoestring fries was so tasty. The Kale and Artichoke dip, the dip was a soupy consistency. The Lobster & Shrimp Po' Boys was great as the ratio with bun to lobster/shrimp was perfect. The tuna bites was my favourite as I always enjoy tuna tataki flavour. I would definitely come back and try the breakfast and dinner menu. I have no excuse as it's 5 minutes walk along the seaside from my office.

The delicious seafood platter was so fresh and tasty ! I can't remember the last time I had oysters that were this fresh !!

We parked on a side street not too far away and noticed how friendly people were as we walked to the restaurant. Everyone said hello and smiled as we passed through. You certainly don't get that same experience in many other areas of the Lower Mainland. Because it was spur of the moment, we didn't have a reservation. We put our name down with the host and waited about 10-15 minutes for a table. The restaurant was a little noisy but not overwhelmingly so. We both had coffee, which was really good. I should've asked what kind of coffee they serve because it's not very often the regular drip coffee is this good. I was having a hard time deciding between the Blvd Blackstone Benny with maple bacon and the Smokey Brisket Benny. I ended up choosing the latter with a side of avocado and my friend had the Huevos Rancheros - he added a side of fried potatoes when he saw how good they looked on my plate. I took one bite of the brisket and I was instantly so glad I chose it. The meat was so tender and flavourful and I didn't even need my knife to cut it. It was phenomenal. My eggs were overcooked but immediately replaced with new eggs when I mentioned it to the server. The replacements were soft with perfectly runny yolks. She also brought extra hollandaise sauce. My friend's meal looked amazing, in fact I now have to come back just so I can have this dish. I wasn't able to finish my meal so I boxed it up to finish later. I will definitely come back here to try more of the menu items, especially when the coffee is this good. Makes me wish I lived closer!

The food and drinks arrived to our table at a good amount of time although, it took a little bit for the server to come take our order or to re-fill our waters. Maybe it was because we were in the patio area but the server was very nice. The food itself was really good. I got the breakfast sandwich. The brioche bun was soft yet crispy and the flavours were nice. My friends got eggs benny. They said it was good although the egg was not runny, rather a soft jammy egg yolk. If you like a runny yolk, be sure to let the waiter know. On the table they have a hot sauce, and that was delicious. It was sweet and tangy and had a good amount of spice. Overall, it was good and I would come back again

Though the restaurant was largely empty when we arrived, we were sat at a booth that at best sat 4 and was not enough for the 5 in our group. We tend to eat lots of appetizers rather than one big meal so I knew the table would not work - we asked to be moved and the server was quite confrontational - she eventually agreed to move us to one of two larger tables that was available the whole time we were there! But it was a weird start and had we not already ordered drinks and it been a Saturday night with most places booked - I would have walked as I don't ever recall been talked to like that in a restaurant and my guess is they moved us in time to stop us leaving. She also told us that she would stagger courses appropriately- that never happened. Pretty much everything arrived at once which I wondered if it was an attempt to flip the table quickly for other large parties - who were not exactly lining up in abundance. The other large table sat empty even after we left. It arrived so, so fast I would guess that a lot of it was pre prepared and just heated up as multiple plates were brought out less than 10 minutes of ordering. Also most of the appetizers and salad arrived last so they seemingly did not know or care to course appropriately. We also ended up stacking dishes at the end of the table as they were not removed- though to be fair, they appeared to be woefully understaffed . Food had some hits and some misses .The meat eaters loved the chicken, the shishito peppers were excellent, , watermelon salad was good, potatoes croquettes were a shadow of their former selves and needed more flavor , mussels were okay and the Creme brûlée was gritty! Weird vibe, mediocre service, food was just okay - much better places to eat in the Village so I wont go back.

The dining room was elegant yet cozy, with great lighting. The staff was also very friendly and our waiter was very helpful in aiding our choice. We ordered the Focaccia bread, the salmon momtadito and the tonnarelli as our entree. The focaccia was the only dissapointing item as it was very basic in my opinion, which isn't bad but just nothing exciting to write about. The appetizer, the salmon montadito, was probably my favorite item of the night. It was served on focaccia bread and drizzled with a truffle honey butter and sat upon a mascarapone yogurt. It was elegant and it was incredibly flavorful. The sweetness of the truffle honey butter was a great contrast to the salmon itself, and all melted together to make an exceptional appetizer. The tonnarelli was a pasta dish we split and was also very tasty. The pasta itself was a thicker spaghetti like pasta served with plenty of crab. It was tasty and it satisfied and I'd likely order it again as I will be back when my sister's visit. All in all, a great restaurant to spend a nice night right in the heart of Bellingham!

We came in for an early dinner so we were really able to enjoy the rustic ambience of this restaurant all by ourselves. As soon as we sat down the waitress was attentive and ready to take our order. I order the garden party off their cocktail menu. Snap pea gin, bay leaf vermouth, genepy, saline and pea shoot? I really was feeling adventurous with this one, a regrettable mistake. The first sip I thought I was drinking sea water with a touch of olive oil in it. I never send back drinks although I was close with this one, I sipped it throughout my meal. One critique I have about the cocktail menu is that every drink was over complicated with many exotic ingredients. There was nothing for someone who was looking for a simple craft cocktail. The table shared the Strawberry Panzanella, and once again I was accosted by an overwhelming salty and sour flavor. A traditional Italian salad consisting of grilled strawberry and focaccia croutons. The lemon vinaigrette dressing on this salad was salty and sour, and very overpowering. Unlike my drink we were unable to finish this one. I ordered the Roe Burger, which I had been really looking forward to trying, thankfully this one did not disappoint. Two smash burger patties that were thin, crispy, and cooked to perfection with slices of cheddar cheese on top are then placed on a bed of classic burger toppings. Tomato, pickles, and iceberg lettuce. This burger was served with crispy fries and garlic aioli. After my fist few bites my mind was beginning to change about this restaurant. We also shared the Reuben Croquettes. A super creative and unique spin on one of my personal favorite appetizers. These little fried pocket were filled with a delicious mixture of cheese and shredded corned beef. They were garnished with a small slice of pickle which was a great touch. For dessert we decided to try the hazelnut torte which was fantastic. It had a nice crisp outer layer with a soft gooey center. Lovely flavor and texture that ended our experience at Roe wonderfully. In conclusion our experience at Roe had its ups and downs but I left feeling satisfied. If you are looking for a unique culinary experience I would give this restaurant a try.
