Came here to celebrate my anniversary as won a gift card to use. The restaurant is located on the ground floor of the Seaside Hotel in North Vancouver and has two entrances - one from the street and another through the hotel. My boyfriend and I were in a seafood mood and ordered the following: Seafood Tower: A showstopper. Beautifully presented, overflowing with fresh oysters, chilled prawns, lobster rolls, caviche, and tuna tartar. Everything tasted fresh and ocean-sweet but the lobster rolls buns were getting wet and soggy from the plate to ice condensation - an oversight on presentation logistics. Wagyu Carpaccio: Melt-in-your-mouth perfection. The wagyu was sliced paper thin and had that rich, buttery texture you hope for. The shaved truffle garnishe added just enough flavour without overshadowing the beef. Served with a few pieces of sourdough bread, it was one of my favourites. Roasted Chicken: I know--ordering chicken at a seafood-forward spot felt risky, but it ended up being one of the surprise standouts. Perfectly roasted with crispy skin and juicy, flavorful meat. It was served with a zesty sauce and roasted vegetables and really homey and tasty. Scallops Risotto: Creamy, aromatic, and cooked to that ideal al dente bite. The scallops were seared beautifully--golden on the outside and tender inside. Service was warm and attentive, and the coastal-chic atmosphere made the whole experience feel relaxed but still special. If you're anywhere near the area, Seaside Provisions is worth a visit especially since they have a Happy Hour. read more

Quiet place in the evenings, our server was friendly and quick. We did not eat just tried the white sangria which was light , sweet and citrusy. Also tried the chocolate dessert , it was a kind of rich chocolate mousse with berry sauce and a shell of hardened chocolate. Very good but a little pricy for what it is. read more

Had a wonderful happy hour/ dinner here. We got the mussels which were some of the best I have ever eaten. The broth was incredible. We also got oysters and the charcuterie plate which felt like a pretty good value. The customer service started off excellent. The host was accommodating and seated us quickly. I think we were soon forgotten however and service slowed way down. The interior is nicely decorated. I think it is worth skipping the nearby view at Joeys for the food we had here. read more

Had a very good dinner starting off with a couple happy hour dishes, the fried chicken bites that were very tender juicy and well seasoned, as well as a nice charcuterie board of mixed cheese, olives gherkins, salami, raspberry compote, mustard and crackers. For dinner the Nicoise salad was a healthy mixture of greens, tomatoes, potatoes, cucumber, topped with slices of seared tuna and anchovies. The food was good although the two pieces of bread were a bit dry. Overall I was satisfied with my breakfast here and it kept me full for a long time! read more

The mussels are a stand out gem here. The vibe is elegant and modern. The service was pretty good, however I had to ask twice and it took an hour to get any water. No one ever checked back in for drinks and I did have to flag someone down. The service was the only downside and I think our table placement might have been the issue. Great Happy Hours are hard to find and grateful we came to North Van for this gem! Loved their fantastic menu and their shrimp cocktail is exactly what you'd like. Huge fresh shrimp with some tasty cocktail sauce along and beautiful (and edible) garnish. Also ordered their buttermilk fried chicken which was nice and juicy! When they have oysters... definitely get them! Fantastic and super worth it at only $1.50 each :) And of course, truffle fries. Yes, that was our dessert and last minute add. I've been here a few times and the quality of the seafood is excellent and I find it to be a better value than many of the places in Vancouver. The portions are good size which is good because the prices are not cheap although an excellent way to get more bang for your buck is with the happy hours. I would avoid the seafood that is from the east coast and stick to west coast option unless it's the height of the season. Don't get lobster rolls on the west coast! Service can be hit or miss depending on how busy it and who you get as well as the season. Tourist season everyone is bit more cranky due often to the behaviour of some of the guests. Some of the servers are more knowledgable than others and it shows. While it's busier during the summer and nice weather there is the outdoor patio so it's a trade off. read more

[DO NOT GO THERE. The original seaside provisions NO LONGER EXISTS!] We went there to celebrate our 15th anniversary. Offering us complementary bubblies for the occasion was a nice idea, but bubblies didn't come for 30 minutes. Before they brought us those "complementary bubblies", we had to order our drinks as they made us nervous about their bad timing. Then, when they finally brought our bubblies, we also immediately ordered 6 shuck of oysters, but our oysters didn't come for another half hour. As we got further worried about their slow service, we went ahead and ordered our main dinners even before our oysters came. Guess what? We had to bug them twice about our oysters and our main dinners, which did not come for another hour ( If we did not bug them, it could have taken longer!) We were so upset that we asked them for a check if our dinner wasn't ready yet, so we wanted to go elsewhere. Only then, they magically brought our dinner, but our night was already ruined. Our drinks were empty for quite a while, to name a few. I talked to the manager, and he offered the whole dinner to be complimentary. But they cannot revise our horrible experience there. If we knew this was going to be the case, we would rather have ordered pizza and stayed home! If you wish to have good seafood, go to "Fish Works" instead! read more

The food was okay, but a bit overpriced. Take the seabis to downtown for better value. The one thing that is really nice is the choice on the number of items and the specific items for the charcuterie board. A nice selection as well. Service was friendly but quality was lacking. We made a reservation but was seated at a shared table without being asked if we were okay with that so had to wait 20-30 minutes for a table. Then, our waiter told us there were two types of oysters available but only brought out one, not confirming that we were okay with the order change before bringing it out. He also insisted that kushi oysters are from the east coast but that's not possible. Noe one (not even the chef on duty) could tell us where the meat for the steak came from. We walked in on a Sunday evening and were seated right away. - Floradora (CAD $15): If you're a fan of ginger beer, this is the drink for you. Heavy on the ginger taste. 3/5 - Tuna tatake (CAD $24): OK 3/5 - Lobster roll (CAD $15): Heavy on the shrimp moreso than the lobster. I could tell by taste and not what it looked like since it was all ground up together. The brioche roll tasted like it was a day too old. I saw in some pics they used to serve it on a buttered lobster roll. That might have been better. The highlight was the fresh arugula salad it came with. 2/5 Both food and drink had nice presentations. read more

Located right at the North Shore shipyard, inside the Seaside Hotel, there's this cute lil' gem. I was on date night with hubs, and made a reso on the morning of. Once we went in, we were greeted and sat promptly. I ordered a Pineapple Express cocktail to start, and we decided to go for the seafood chilled platter. All the seafood is fresh and delicious!!! They used all the East Coast raw oysters, Raspberry points from the Atlantic Ocean. Mussels are plump and juicy, not the dry and small ones. The salmon and tuna sashimi are fine as well. I just wish the prawns had more bounciness and a bit more chew to it. I then ordered a bouillabaisse and hubs ordered the scallop risotto. The portion of my bouillabaisse is huge, and that halibut is to die for! All the clams, mussels and steelhead goodness in not a classic tomato broth, but in a mildly spicy dashi is so refreshing and enhanced the seafood flavour even more. The scallop risotto that hubs ordered, if you just eat the risotto alone, it's a bit bland, but if you have scallop and risotto in each bite, you can taste the ocean, saltiness, butter and lemon all at once. I particularly love their presentation on the scallop risotto, which they made an in-house shell-like pastry to mimick the scallop shells, which I find very cute. Services were very attentive throughout - server would come to fill our water, take away the shell buckets without us asking. We ordered a cocktail, two 9oz white wine, seafood tower and two mains, and the bill came to be $230. With the quality of food, portion and service, I think that's reasonable and would definitely come back. read more

Had a great first visit to Seaside Provisions which is located in the Shipyards in North Vancouver. They offer seating inside and limited seating outside, as well. From 3-6pm Tuesday to Sunday which includes half off small plates and $1 oysters. We ordered the fried chicken which was so good and the $1 oysters. I think this is one of the few places that still offers buck and shuck! Would definitely return to try some other small plates but be sure to reserve your table on Fridays or Saturdays as they can get quite busy! read more

I work near Lonsdale Quay and Seaside Provision restaurant that is in Seaside Hotel, well let's say why didn't I hear about this amazing restaurant? Happy Hour with co-workers, the food and drinks were delicious! The oysters well so fresh and good size. We wanted to order another dozen but they sold out during Happy Hour. The Wagyu flank steak with shoestring fries was so tasty. The Kale and Artichoke dip, the dip was a soupy consistency. The Lobster & Shrimp Po' Boys was great as the ratio with bun to lobster/shrimp was perfect. The tuna bites was my favourite as I always enjoy tuna tataki flavour. I would definitely come back and try the breakfast and dinner menu. I have no excuse as it's 5 minutes walk along the seaside from my office. read more

Buck-a-shuck! What? Yes, it hard to find these bargains but I found it at Seaside Provisions at the Shipyard on the North Shore. My friend and I ordered 2 dozen and the oysters were delicious with an assortment of condiments like lemons, cocktail sauce, mignonette, Tabasco sauce, and freshly grated horseradish. Excellent presentation and the platter was ice cold. For the $1 featured oysters it's offered from 3-4:30pm only while the $2 premium oysters are from 3-6pm. Also ordered Lobster and Shrimp Po' Boys and Kale & Artichoke Dip. Both were well seasoned and tasty. Serviced was great from beginning to end. The inside of the restaurant doesn't have a view of the water or city view of the Downtown Vancouver but the interior is darkish, modern and comfortable. Cute restaurant with an open kitchen for the Seaside hotel. I expected it to be a little bit larger but it was cozy. The food was so good and extremely filling with fairly generous portions. It was a little bit expensive (we opted for the two fish dishes that cost around $38-39) but given the amount we got, and the quality and freshness of the fish it was reasonable. It is set up a bit strangely if you enter from the parking garage - you have to walk to the main entrance to let folks know you're there. But apart from that the decor was really cute and the candles looked like they were waves. Super cute! Service was good, but since it was a bit busy, getting folks to take our order was either too fast (came right after we just sat down) or a little bit slow. COVID measures: they checked for both ID and the COVID vaccination passports. They also had hand sanitizer at the entrance. read more

**COVID 2ND WAVE HAPPY HOUR REVIEW** The hubs and I decided to hop to our next Happy hour location on this sunny Saturday in December. This place is quite generous with timing. HH is Wed-Sun from 3-6pm. We were asked to put down our names for contact tracing. Ambience/decor: the restaurant is also the Executive Hotel's lounge. The decor has West coast feels with easy contemporary music that's played in the background. Not too dark in lighting, not too loud in music. To meet the physical distancing measures, every other table is occupied. They have a really small seating outside that also has a heater. Customer service: We arrived at 4 pm and got a seat right away. They gave us a paper menu unlike most restaurants with website menus. Our waiter greeted us right away and we were able to order our HH drinks and food. Our waiter was very attentive as he was always quick to refill our water and check in on us. Kitchen service: our food came within 5 mins of ordering the oysters and po'boy. Taste, portion, price: - The oysters ($12 for dozen) (4/5): fresh catches. Some of the oysters were quite tiny. The accompanying sauces were sort of a miss because the seafood sauce and the vinigrette tasted very generic and store bought feels. Shells were cut clean and no stray shells when eating them. - The HH feature cocktail ($8.5) (5/5): The cocktail is called Tropical Martini. It's vodka based and tasted like a frothy Pina colada. - The lobster & shrimp Po'boy ($11) (4/5): not the po'boys you get from NOLA, but still tasty in its own right. Each order comes with 2 mini toasted po'boys. The mini toast is toasted on the outside with butter, while the inside of the toast is left fluffy and white. The fillings were quite substantial for a small toast, but the filling was chilled. I just wish the filling is also warm to bring out its flavours. Overall: great experience. (Didn't have salsa verde) Squid: (4/5) Tender, seasoned and accompanied with quinoa tabbouleh, slightly too bitter from the charring. Perfectly cooked. Desserts: (4.5) Ganche tart: hard to eat with a spoon. I used my hands and ate it like a tart topped with a quenelle of creme Semi freddo: Nice icecream feel on a bed of sea salt caramel and dark chocolate cookie dust, with a sprinkle or salt. Service: 5/5 Our server provided great service, was caring and made sure our glasses was always topped. Should be more aware of what's in the food and what is accompanying the main dishes. A hidden restaurant tucked away amongst many in lower lonsdale. Good decor and nice atmosphere, albeit loud at times. The food was prepared with care and everything was very fresh. The experience would be better if they didn't have tables so close to the restrooms. Also there's not much of a view when you are inside the restaurant. Service was friendly and attentive. The menu was very classic west coast with a pub flair. The most interesting dish has to be the seaweed battered fish and chips. While I don't taste any seaweed flavours, it certainly made the dish stand out on the table. The batter was crispy and light without being greasy and the fish was tender and moist on the inside. A great go to restaurant option for young couples or just dinner with friends. Will be returning again if I find myself near that neighbourhood during dinner time. read more

Given that Seaside Provisions became one of our favorite restaurants in BC soon after we moved here from the US 3 months ago, and that we've already been here a couple of times since then, this review has been long due! We discovered this place when craving for a nice dinner one fine evening in North Vancouver, and little did we know that we were in for a treat! The neat restaurant is located in a complex by the happening and busy Lonsdale Quay area and right by the lobby of the Seaside Hotel. If arriving in your own vehicle, the underground parking is paid and not validated (something that we've come to realize is common in and around Vancouver *ouch*), so you might as well enjoy pre- and post-meal strolls in the vicinity since you'll be booking a parking spot for a couple of hours. We've not had to wait for long to be seated during our visits, and their menus are not too elaborate or confusing, so placing an order has always been a breeze. All of their cocktails that we've had are really delicious, so I won't even bother listing them down (go wild!). But, when it comes to food options, we simply love the Wagyu Flank Steak, the Seafood Chowder (the best chowder we've had till date!), and the Fettuccine (Oh-so-delish! Just wish that they start offering another variation with Italian sauces too *fingers and toes crossed*). The Premium Oysters are yummy, but better to order them during Happy Hours when you'll get to savor more for less. Rest assured that the menu items are on the pricier side but definitely worth the extra dent that they leave on your pockets! Last call for dinner is at 9:30 PM, so please make sure to order and have your fill before ordering the heavenly Chocolate Lava Cake *dreamy sighs* We were served by the amazing Vadim and Danny during our visits, and both of them ensured that we enjoyed our dinner dates. In a nutshell, Seaside Provisions offers fantastic and delicious food, a good ambiance and great service. Pro tip: If you call for a reservation and don't get one (more often the case than not!), you might still want to swing by if you're in the area and try your luck with a walk in. In the best case scenario (that we've experienced), you will be escorted to a table and enjoy the yummy food and good service on offer! Otherwise there are a few other good restaurants along the shipyards, plus you can enjoy a nice stroll along Burrard Dry Dock Pier and savor the views of Vancouver Downtown from a distance. read more

We had a fairly good experience with free bubbly to start off our anniversary dinner and everything was delicious. However I felt that for the price of the halibut dish $46 it needs to be a bigger piece of halibut or include some broccolini with it as opposed to 3 large potatoes (which is called potato salad and it really is not). While we also got free dessert again was also delicious the vibe is just not for me, so with that I probably won't be back. But if your into fine fine dining this is for you, just overall not for me. My friends and I went to happy hour, I'm not sure if we ordered the wrong items on the menu. The one item, I enjoyed on the menu, the oysters. They were fresh! Now for the rest, the lobster rolls were okay, the brioche bun on point, however the filling inside was somewhat bland. It was missing something. The salmon oshi, the rice was too thick, not seasoned, and it was crumbly. Definitely not even close to Miku. When restaurants try to recreate this dish, I feel like it should resemble the well known Miku oshis. The salmon flatbread, had lots of salmon! On the description of the flatbread it stated, shallots on menu, I'm assuming they did not have any so it was substituted with red onions. Did not notify us. One thing I enjoyed the oversized capers, however that's all I could taste. The chicken karage tasted "sweet" but not in a bad way. It was definitely lacking the unami flavour. The servers were attentive and great! Location of restaurant, right by the water in North Vancouver. Restaurant interior nice and clean. Happy hour prices, only 2-3 dollars off from regular menu.
