Located in Steveston Village it can get busy weekends and evenings. Recommend reservations. This place was really loud when we dined in so I prefer takeout. Our second time visiting Vancouver, we headed to Steveston Fisherman's wharf. The first restaurant we tried is called Timmy Kitchen, much better than Seattle's Cantonese restaurant! We ordered Fried tofu with Rock cod hot pot, the vegetable inside is the best, because they absorbed all flavors from the fish and tofu. Rich in flavor. 4 steamed Oysters with different sauces on top, the oyster is very huge, not that smooth yet the seasoning is great. One special made chicken, very tender, and I personally love the crisp skin. read more

We really enjoyed the food here. The shrimp was cooked to perfection and the flavors were spot on. Had the sautéed shrimp in black bean sauce and the house specialty chow mein. It was all great. There is a perfect little patio outside where we sat to eat. The only complaint is that I saw a dead fish in the fish tank. read more

Owners are the same, they are still very friendly, but I am sure that the kitchen staffs may have seen some changes. Roasted Chicken with Seasoned Salt 3 stars Recommended by the boss lady. I don't know if the skin is supposed to be crispy or not with this recipe, as it is not the more popular Crispy Skin Chicken that is common in most Cantonese Restaurants. Yes, the meat is tender and juicy but I still prefer the crispy skin type. Tofu with Seafood Hotpot 1 stars A very common dish, this lacks flavour and also substance. Not up to their regular standard at all. Steamed Fresh Oysters with Black Bean Sauce 3 stars Simple dish, if the oysters are fresh, you've already win this dish and with proper cooking time and sauce it will be perfect. The oysters we got were very fresh but it was slightly over cooked maybe for one minute too much. Lobster in Green Onion & Ginger Sauce 4 stars This is the star of the night, meaty, juicy, sweet & not overcooked. Simple yet delicious, we ordered some noodles later to soaked up all the goodness from the lobster! Minced Beef & Tofu with Cilantro Soup 3 stars Old standby soup for Cantonese Restaurants, their version adds tofu which makes the soup more smooth and hearty! Final score: 2.8 stars Verdict: Only if you are in the neighbourhood, and fancy Chinese food. Steveston has a lot to offer and I may not come back for a while. read more

Reasonable prices, fresh ingredients, friendly and attentive staff, and yummy food!!! Washroom could be a bit cleaner but other than that, no complains. Restaurant is clean with simple decor. Smaller than I thought so highly recommend to make a reservation on weekends. Weekdays are salt fine but good to make a reservation too, but weekends are crazy. Don't suggest weekends because it's so crowded. Some street parkings around the area but mostly paid parking as it's in Steveston. Quite a lot of dishes to choose from and each dishes tasted delicious with nice flavour and texture. They are not too heavy or salty for a Chinese restaurant. The golden crab dish was my friend's favourite but I loved the fish and corn soup. My friend had an amazing birthday there and we will definitely go back again! read more

We ordered to go. Timmy's is a dark not very clean looking place. Curry chicken was a little bland. The chicken and pepper pieces were juicy but there were not many of either of them. There were more potato pieces than chicken. I'm not a fan of potatoes in my curry. The broccoli beef was a nice presentation of broccoli florets with the beef centered in side. The beef was ok. The BBQ pork rib appetizer was very disappointing. There were a lot of small, fatty pork bones with very little meat in each one. Overall not very impressive. read more

Almost want to keep this to myself but this won't be the spirit of a yelper ;) Impressed with the fish tank, one would expect fresh seafood being this close to the pier. It's pretty good value: you get a lobster & crab for $20 though they do seem a bit smaller--nevertheless, you get value here, chose the ginger onion sauce, good flavour. Can you believe they wanted to charge an extra $6 for the cream sauce? But the highlight--honey garlic spareribs--must've been the best i've had in a long, long time. Very meaty, but the aroma, i even smelled this a few tables away before server arrived. And plenty of the honey sweet juice underneath, so every bite full of sweetness. Sprinkled lots w/ sesame, no cheaping out here. Green veggies were quite fresh too. Altogether 4 dishes for $60 including tax/tip in a better than average decor, not too shabby. About 6 tables in the main room, plus a separate room of similar size. Being way out in Steveston, guess they have to offer value to attract customers. The only thing I like about this place is the server we had. The KP CHICKEN had the such little bits of chicken. It wasn't worth the money we payed for it. The seafood hot and sour soup was pretty good but we kept having to spit out chili flakes and I had one stuck in my throat. The crab was okay but pretty small. The dishes served at my most recent visit were amazing, notables: Crispy crab with duck egg yolk served on a bed of edamame and shanghai flat noodles was amazing - the crab legs were coated perfectly in a light crispy batter and yolk. Steamed scallops - fresh and meaty Steamed sole - done in perfection, just right, soy sauce was yummy Stir fried egg with zucchini, very tasty for such simple ingredients Not only were the dishes impressive but the final bill was much much less than we had imagined. Unfortunately my dad comes here everyday when he comes to Canada to visit for two weeks. I do not joke. We come here everyday for two weeks twice a year. It's at least an hour of driving but he insists we make the trip... The food here is so good. My goodness, the roast chicken is cooked to perfection. They catch fresh and rare fishes from time to time and they cook it with little oil and only the freshest ingredients. The owners also have an espresso machine and make a mean cappuccino. Staff is very nice, not sure about what the other reviewers are saying. Food is brilliant and the lobster was gushing with flavour. However, the condition of the restaurant is quite run-down. What made me lower a star was when I was in a morbid situation in which I found a small fly corpse laying on the Bok Choy. Not sure if it's related to amateur health safety or if it just landed on my food. Even despite that, I think the food is way too good and can make up for the musty surroundings. read more

Decent prices and good quality when they are Not busy. If it's a full house, don't go. The quality goes downhill. Cheaper than East on 1 Chinese Restaurant. It's seems like a family run place and they don't turn on the AC during hot days. There are tables outside. The clientele seems to be mostly Mainland Chinese with the stereotypical feet up on chair knee elevated while dinning. I have even seen men smoking in the restaurant. We were there June 29 (Saturday on Canada Day long weekend). I made a reservation for 5:30. When we got there, there were only a few tables taken, the rest were reserved. A few tables were set up outside for the smokers, or those who don't like the air conditioning. Décor was good for a Chinese restaurant. Seats were very tight. We ordered lobster and crab special with ginger and green onion (the other flavour choices were superior broth or spicy salt). NOTE: the lobster and crab are cooked together, so you can only pick one flavour for both. The ginger and green onion was great. They even gave us the crab shell with the tasty bits still in it. It was a bit hard to get the meat out since the lobster was around 1 LBS, and crab was 1.5 LBS, but it was worth it. We ordered two other dishes: honey garlic spare rib (tasty but a bit fatty) and chow mein with beef and black bean sauce (good but smaller portion than what we expected). When we left around 7pm, the place was packed with families. Less than $50 for dinner for 4, and we had a bit of left over to take home. Great deal. We will be back. read more

Have you ever had a shrimp that tasted like a wet gym sock??! OMG I had to run to the toilet and almost puked. When I complained they argued and did not apologize. They offered ten percent off, which I really don't care about when I'm worried about food poisoning. Overall The food had no flavour lacking in any garlic or sauces the won ton soup tasted like dish water... the bbq pork was so rubbery it's inedible. Someone told me that because I'm not Asian they gave us old or expired food thinking we wouldn't notice. Of course That is just an assumption and seems ridiculous so I can't put much stock is that. Also the prices are very high here. My first visit to this place was awful and I warn other foodies to beware!!!
