We usually love this restaurant but giving it a slightly lower rating than usual cuz the desserts were not up to par this time. Hubby also said that his steak was a bit on the tough side. They seemed to have changed the menu since the last time we were here. They took away the chickpea fries known as Panisse. I was quite sad to see that gone from the menu. Aside from my husband's steak being a bit tough, everyone else seemed to be happy with their entrees. I very much enjoyed my Summer Greens salad which had pickled berries, goat cheese, candied pecans and a shallot vinaigrette. For dessert I ordered the Noir Chocolate Cake which was a plant based cake. One might argue that it wasn't so great because it was a plant based dessert but I think that would be a pretty weak argument. I have tasted plant based desserts that were far superior to this. This cake was quite dense and challenging to cut through with my fork. Wasn't impressed with it. I heard the Tiramisu wasn't so great either. A Tiramisu typically has coffee flavor in it, but my husband told me he couldn't taste any coffee flavor in it. Sure hope things are better again whenever next we come to this restaurant.

We came to Dockside for an early brunch on my bike ride with a friend this morning to take advantage of the morning side on their patio. We both had the Rewind Light Lager on draft and we shared 2 entrées (oyster mushroom calamari and spinach dip as we) instead of the main courses. The calamari was surprisingly very good despite the fact that there was no squid. The oyster mushrooms gave a crunchy and springy bite. While there was more roux than spinach in the dip, it was tasty nonetheless and the pita wedges were well roasted. The lager went down so quickly and easily that we didn't realize we got the 20oz instead of the 16oz (we had wanted to get but didn't specify when ordering) until we were paying the bill. At the end, I'm glad we got the 20oz. It was a nice stop on our ride.

We happened to stumble upon this place after a local from Vancouver suggests it during our visit to Grannery Island. There used to be a Micro Brew here but it is no longer there. We had a light lunch including the Tempura Mushrooms, the Seared Tuna Salad, and Mediterranean Charcuterie Board. The view and the drinks were amazing. We will come back again.

This was an absolutely wonderful experience. The restaurant is quite beautiful especially the patio with an amazing view! They actually have quite a good selection of food on their menu which is great! They had a decent amount of dairy free, gluten free and vegan items. The great thing was that they actually noted on their menu which items were GF, DF, vegan or vegetarian. A lot of restaurants get noticed don't often note DF free items so it was nice to see this restaurant did do that. Our server was also great - wonderful service. The only thing(s) I would note is that it is a little pricy and it's also not the easiest to get to via transit (if you're transitting) but I would say it is worth trying out.

Compared to other fine dining areas in hotels, this one was average. The food itself were options that you could get anywhere. My party ordered the Steak and Frites, Warm Mushroom (salad with add-on of steak), and Scallops. Overall, an average meal but the steak quality can be described as chewy and hard to eat. The other dishes were delicious and nice to try. The service was nice and lived up to decent expectations for restaurant staff. A pleasant environment where you can go if you're finding trouble eating at a sit-down restaurant.

This location was worth the stop. I was not impressed with their menu selection and our server chose to argue with our hostess in front of us which was a bit awkward. We came for the view and drinks which was enjoyed. I recommend the limoncello spritz! I can imagine the experience would be better next time!

Wow, this is one of the best meals I've had as of late! For Father's Day, my dad and I shared the Octopus Carpaccio ($18), with his main being the Ribs (Half - $33, Full - $40) and my main being the Steelhead Salmon ($32). The carpaccio was a work of art - thinly sliced octopus arranged in a mosaic and topped off with pineapple salsa and tapioca crisps. It was refreshing and well-balanced in both texture and flavour. As for my salmon, it was beautifully cooked - flaky and juicy, with a nice sear for some added bite. The smoked salmon, cauliflower, and gruyère croquettes were also sensational, while the cauliflower purée and the golden raisins provided a touch of sweetness. Although the agrodolce was a bit too tart on its own, this was a minor point when taken as a whole since everything on the plate just worked in such harmony with each other. Considering it was Father's Day, I was surprised at the wide availability on OpenTable, but the restaurant filled up not long into our meal. Per my request, we were also seated near the window for a gorgeous view of the harbour. Service was fairly efficient overall, and our server kindly wished my dad a "Happy Father's Day!" at the end.

Exceeded my expectations beyond measure! This was easily one of the best burgers i've ever had! It was flavorful, not your typical burger, with a delicious side of fries! I did not feel weighed down by it afterwards either! We also did a Beef Tartare which was a beautiful experience in itself. The chef came out to prepare it in front of us! All of this is accompanied by a beautiful view overlooking the water and docs! Thank you to our wonderful server Kevin who made our experience worth remembering!

I haven't been here in about a year, so we went for dinner on a Tuesday night in mid-April. I'd previously raved about the kitchen but on that night it was just "good" - I'd give it 3.5 stars if I could. My husband's salmon was a tad overcooked, but otherwise tasty. The portion was fairly small, you definitely need an appetizer. Unfortunately their spaghetti with clams (with tomato sauce) was not nearly as transcendent as the amazing vongole I've had before. The pasta was over cooked and the whole thing was weighed down with what felt like too much sauce for the amount of pasta. The cocktails were both quite good. I think they've improved their cocktail game a bit. I

Very nice place with good atmosphere. Me and my husband came to Granville market late and we didnt know it closes so early. We are from US and we didnt had internet on our phones to make a reservation at the dockside. But they were very nice to give us table outside with good view. They also provided blanket because I it got chilly. We were not so hungry so we stick with paella and duck croquettes and 2 drinks. I liked my cocktail Milan and my husband got cocktail el limone with limoncello. I loved duck croquettes they were very tender and tasty. Paella also had a lot of seafood. Overall we had a nice time there.

Food- Spinach dip tasted flat like it came from a can. We had a few bites and then abandoned the dish The mussels were inedible and beyond smelly and I really like all sorts of shellfish. Service- Service was slow but not unbearable. But the place was not busy. A manager came by finally to present our bill. Ambience - great! Nice views of the water. We were guests at the hotel but chose not to return for any other dining experience at the Dockside.

Since the host ordered everything I don't quite remember everything we got. What we had was generally good, but also I thought to myself that each item was quite small, and hard to share evenly among the 7 people there. I remember looking at the menu after and thought to myself that it was quite expensive for very small portions. A number of guests were disappointed the restaurant only served beer and wine, and couldn't mix drinks. Service was good enough - friendly and interactive but nothing outstanding. I didn't pay for this meal, so it was fine. But I don't think I would be rushing back because it's quite expensive for small portions.

****Service Animal Discrimination Experience****…read more I'm writing to document a disappointing and unacceptable experience with Blue Water Cafe in Vancouver. Earlier today, we called ahead to request dining accommodations with my certified service dog, trained in the United States by an Assistance Dogs International (ADI)-accredited program -- a certification that is fully recognized under British Columbia's Guide Dog and Service Dog Act. Instead of courteously discussing the request or asking the legally permitted questions, the staff member immediately rejected our reservation, accused us of not having proper documentation, and refused to review or even allow us to present our credentials. This was done over the phone, without any attempt to understand the situation or follow BC's service animal regulations. Under BC law, restaurants must accommodate certified service dogs and may only ask: * whether the dog is required because of a disability, and * what task the dog is trained to perform. Blue Water Cafe did neither. Instead, we were dismissed, spoken to rudely, and denied access based on incorrect assumptions about service dog requirements in British Columbia. For a restaurant of this reputation, this level of misinformation and lack of courtesy is unacceptable. Service dog users deserve dignity, lawful treatment, and basic respect -- not snap judgments, false accusations, or barriers to dining. I hope management addresses this immediately through staff training on BC's Guide Dog and Service Dog Act and implements proper procedures so that other guests with disabilities are not subjected to the same treatment. MARY was very rude she had zero empathy and her tone was very obnoxious as well she had zero patience and her tone was not at all pleasing, she shouldn't be in customer service if she has no skill as to how to calm a situation, she has zero empathy towards us and didn't know how to talk in a manner that people would understand your situation, she just didn't seem to care. Why would someone want to work in a customer facing job if they have no patience to deal with customers. She was beyond rude , no words for Mary indeed! She passed me on to the manager , he was a guy, Kaden or sounds like that name, he was also not very helpful or didn't even try to make the situation a better one knowing it was my birthday, they both definitely have the most horrible customer service we've experienced so far , that day we were also driving back from the Four Seasons hotel in Whistler and they were such beyond lovely when it comes to going above and beyond! They definitely have the gold standard as to how people should be treated! This place is totally a downgrade from what we've experienced at the Four Seasons Hotel. Please don't assume on anyone's service dog. Please don't discriminate your tone towards anyone having a service dog and explaining it to the person properly showing empathy, it would have been a totally different experience and outcome when it comes to my review, because mental health is real.
