The food was expertly made. Cooked perfectly. Tasted wonderful. They made a mistake with one of our orders, however it was corrected immediately and professionally. The ambiance, I felt a bit cramped. We were a party of five. They sat us at a table roomy enough for four people, all they did was add an extra chair to one side of the table. The food here is mostly picture perfect! Really well presented and the starters, for the most part were quite good. The chowder was probably my favorite. I got the lobster roll and it was decent, but I probably wouldn't choose it again. We also went for brunch and this was decent too. The location and interior is really nice. I can see why it's a popular choice for receptions. It really is right on the beach and there's an extended patio beach side. I quite liked the covered restaurant patio though and inside is nice too. Finally had a chance to try out Beach House's Brunch. The food was delicious and the ambiance was fancy and nice. The only bad thing about our experience was that they forgot my coffee. They brought out my friend's cocktail before our dishes and I had to inquire about my coffee. It wasn't brought out till after we received our dishes. This is a perfect place for a celebration or to really treat friends. The setting is simply gorgeous. Much of the seating is on patios right by the beach. At dinner during sunset the ambiance is unmatched. The seating is also a bit terraced so everyone has great views. The service is also good. As for the food: - lobster and mango rolls - these are good, though the sauce is a bit too strong. - clam chowder- good - Sablefish - tender, flaky and done just right. Good light flavour, but I felt it was missing the truffle sauce. I had to flag down a waiter to bring some to me. - sea bass and spaghettini - both seemed good according to my family - strawberry napoleon - done really well. Went to the Beach House for early Father's Day breakfast. Stayed inside for the AC. They do have a big outdoor deck to enjoy the Sun. The deco is nice. Bathroom updated. Service was very good. I had the Beach house special. Two eggs, sausage, smoked bacon, potato pave and soft biscuit. Served with jelly and ketchup. Just enough food to keep me happy. Others in my party has the eggs Benny, Lump crab Benny and the avocado and white Benny. All looked great and went down well. Prices are medium but it is happy hour from opening to 2pm, so save around $5.00. The view is what you come for besides a great breakfast. We did some walking on the Dundarave beach. Nice restaurant with a view. The patio seating is beautiful outside. We went for brunch and we were the first few guests at the restaurant, they said the whole restaurant was reserved even though it was empty when we asked if we could sit outside. After asking several times we were seated outside with an hour and half dining time. We ordered the eggs benedict and crab cake benedict. The food was great and the potato pave was delicious. I have not seen this served with a benny at other restaurants. The ingredients tasted fresh and everything came out very quick (probably because we had a seating time limit). I dined there for dinner with my brother. It was my second time. We like the restaurant because of it location, views and warm atmosphere. We both had hamburgers and it was delicious. Get it exactly as it comes and you wouldn't be sorry. Our server was an incredible serve who just happened to know everything about wines. She was excellent and recommended the perfect bottle for us. The crab cake was JUST ok - but at $28.75 - that's ridiculous!!! They really should make a trip to Boston or Maine to see how crab cakes should be done! Similarly the clam chowder is sub-par. A half-full small bowl at $14.25 - I'm sorry - it should be considerably better for that price. (it wasn't) - watery compared to what you would get at the Union Oyster House in Boston! The steaks were cooked perfectly medium rare - but, given my entre was called Bearnaise Fillet, you would think that they wouldn't forget the Bearnaise sauce?! Well, they did! That was another 10 minutes waiting as our food got colder. My wife had their Sirloin and Lobster Tail - call me crazy, but who serves lobster tails without butter?! My wife enjoyed her non-alcoholic Strawberry cocktail. I had the Beach House's own Hazy Pale Ale - it was ok, but it really needs that citrus bite that you find from other breweries. Lastly, they fumbled at the end - taking about a half hour to bring the bill after we requested it (you would think the empty plates would have been signal enough to put that onto their agenda). We were at the Beach House a few years ago. We were there last night for our anniversary. At a little over $200, we have much better meal options elsewhere. Unlikely we'll return. read more

Disclaimer: I came here for a group dinner with set menu. Venue is on the beach with nice view. Reasonably comfortable space. Solid 4/5 for the restaurant venue itself. Free street parking. Service was fine. Nothing bad, nothing outstanding. 4/5. Food is where things get disappointing but it might be in part due to the set menu. I had a choice of 2 salad's and I picked the mixed greens (other one was Caesar). Pretty plain salad. 2.5/5. Nothing bad or offensive. But wasn't good either. Not memorable at all. Then I had salmon fillet. Fish was cooked nicely but everything else on the plate was super bland and tasteless. 3/5. I finished with their dessert special or something, ended up being a coconut chiffon cake slice. This was excellent. As far as cake is concerned, this is how I like it. 5/5. Not sure the cost of my meal add I didn't pay for it so I can't comment on value. For this experience, 3/5 seems fair but I suspect it's better if I ordered a la carte so I would come back to test my theory. read more

No flavour, had to ask to ponzu sauce but didn't help. Turned us off and we didn't order more food and just left. Restaurant looks tired and dirty. It is a grave mistake on my part that I have forgotten to take photos because the food is by far one of the best parts of this entire restaurant. I mean, you have the most stunning views of the beach in an old historic home with a beautiful covered patio and then a few steps away there's a beach patio that's giving Cape Cod vibes. I had the seafood tower with the most fresh seafood, which is not totally uncommon for Vancouver, but I really loved the tuna tartar and how the crab legs were already cracked open which made it convenient and quick to devour. There were also two types of oysters, lots of mussels and clams. The only thing that was a bit misrepresented was how they listed the lobster roll because I thought we would be getting mini lobster rolls Maine style but instead it was a sushi roll so I think if they tweak their menu description by writing lobster sushi roll that would become more clear. One item that I wouldn't miss if you were a fan of clams is the spaghettini vongole; so simple yet so mouthwatering good. It was truly amazing sauce and fresh clams with a crunchy breadcrumb on top. The nonalcoholic drinks could use some more sweetness and a bit more tweaking but overall the cucumber refresher was really good. Unfortunately, the only reason why I can think that the beach house restaurant has a lower rating is due to their service. Even though there weren't that many tables on the outdoor beach patio, it still took quite a while for our waitress to pay attention to us. It seemed as though there were moments where the staff were just chatting with one another instead of attending to the customers needs a lot of of the times we needed to flag a person down in order to get something. The customer service is definitely an aspect in which the beach house can work on, but the food really does make up for the lack of that. read more

I don't understand the low ratings for this restaurant on Yelp. This was day 3 of my dine out Vancouver experience and it was by far my favourite. 3 courses for $55 with a killer view. Let's start with the appetizers of Ahi Tuna Tacos. So deliciously fresh with a ponzu sauce and crunchy wonton shells. They were served upright with a smart and generous amount of guacamole. Mains were Roasted Lois Lake Salmon and Prawn & Scallop Spaghettini. Both dishes were perfectly cooked and portioned. Finally we had the dessert where we tried one of each. It's a tie. Warm chocolate cake with raspberry coulis and vanilla ice cream was delicious and so was the strawberry rhubarb crumble served on a hot plate. Our service was good excellent and friendly. I went here with friends near the end of brunch, but fortunately they were able to seat us and serve us brunch (after asking the chefs though haha). We were seated at the bar as opposed to waiting 30-40 minutes for a table as we wanted to try their brunch before it ended. The view from the bar and, honestly, any table near a window is great as you get a beautiful view of the water. On a sunny day, it's the perfect place to grab a nice meal with someone you love spending time with! Service was very quick and nice and food came out pretty fast! Everything was delicious and very nicely portioned. My friends and I got a salad, couple of benedicts, and a charcuterie board (I forgot the actual name of it on the menu) and I love it all. Take advantage of Wednesdays as all bottles of wine are 50% off but don't underestimate mid-week, as there will still be a crowd. You can feel this is a local favorite and I would agree! One line review: A nice place for a special occasion. We had been here about a year before to celebrate our anniversary (seafood is big with us) and got treated very well, so when my wife got a new job we decided to make the trek back. Not a short trip for us (about 40 minutes), but our other choice in town gave us a wait time about that long, and we were able to get a reservation (or so we thought). When we arrived after the longish trip, it seemed like perhaps we /didn't/ have a reservation -- bummer -- but they managed to seat us, so it was all good. It was a gorgeous night to eat on the upper patio at sunset -- just lovely. The views were outstanding and added to the specialness of the ocassion. We ordered: - salt and pepper squid (needed pepper) - crab and shrimp louie salad (good but would have been nice to have some bread) - grilled rib eye (tasty; no vegetable on the plate) - a couple of beverages: the passionfruit gimlet and a strawberry garden The table service was excellent. Today was my second birthday dinner that I celebrated at Beach House and this time managed to greatly exceed my last memorable visit. I love the way it looks inside the restaurant, fancy but still comfortable. The service is across the board in m visits to be outstanding. It is expensive, a place for special occasions and I will without a doubt be back tomorrow. I had the crab and shrimp seafood salad and it was the best one that I've ever had. Again it's not cheap but the volume of seafood on the salad is just outstanding. I recommend requesting the lettuce be chopped up or it comes in a wedge which is not as good. I think my father is going to rave about this place for a long time to come. It all made for a special day. read more

Jan 10, 2021 Family brunch on a Sunday, booked thru OpenTable and find the whole experience using this App to be user friendly and convenient. Parking available at the restaurant, but there are only a handful, we were lucky to find one spot left! Arrived at 12noon and the place was already buzzing! Approached Hostess to let her know of our arrival and were asked to wait for our table to be sanitized etc., she also gave us different choices, we settled for a booth next to the window. Server came with water and later came back to take our orders, friendly and cheerful. Food quality was above average, and they all came within minutes so we can all start at the same time! Out of our choices, the Shrimp & Crab Melt received the most votes from our family, I love my cocktail : "BH Seaside Swizz" refreshing! Haven't been here since the renovation as I wasn't a fan but went for a late lunch around 2:30. Got sat right away but didn't get a waitress untill 20-30 after being sat. Then ordered a chicken club and Aburi roll. I also don't think I've ever waited 30 minutes for water before. When we got the order it was about 30 minutes after for two things, they had given us a prawn club instead however after being sitting for so long we were too hungry to care. Wouldn't of mind if it was busy but it was basically empty. Not sure I would ever go back again or recommend it to anyone. read more

IS IT BEACH SEASON YET? Finally tried out the @beachhouserestaurant for the first time yesterday, and I can now say: I get the hype. This whimsical restaurant located by the sea wall in West Vancouver is an unassuming but delicious restaurant. My friend and I visited for lunch yesterday and everything was very well done. We arrived at around noon on a weekday and the restaurant was just starting to fill up. The host team was very welcoming And showed us to our table before handing us over to our serving who was also super friendly. We felt that service overall was good but could have been a bit more attentive. This could be dude to the fact that they were getting bush and the patio area seemed a bit short staffed. No major problems aside from having to flag down a runner or two more than once for water refills. Our only other complain was that it did get a bit chilly out in the patio as it seemed a row of the patio heaters were broken. Aside from that my girlfriend and I still enjoyed our lunch date as the food was great. Here's what we ordered: Charred Spanish Octopus 10/10 The octopus was super tender, the potatoes they were served on were addicting as well Ahi Tuna Tacos 7/10 Tuna was fresh, the guacamole was pretty good. Although I loved the refreshed design, the food and service clearly still needs ironing out after the re-opening. The hostess was new and overwhelmed and my server doubled as a bartender, which led to some awkward wait times. Meanwhile, the food was decent, but not as good quality as I recall. Every dish felt too small, and also overpriced; the worst being the lobster roll, which was 85% bread. However, I enjoyed the smoked sablefish chowder and sushi roll...if only there was more! I know that the prices are better during happy hour though, so I'll make a point of going during that time when I next visit. In my opinion, the price point and quality of the food is the same here than at any other restaurant in the area, so if you're craving seafood, then I would definitely go here. I would give the food a 3 star but very disappointed that the beach house located on the BEACH is still using plastic containers for the take aways -- there are alternatives and will not eat at the beach house until they consider the environment a higher priority. read more

Previously went to the restaurant and had a great seat on the patio last summer. Beautiful view and certainly worth a visit for the view alone. Meal was OK but had higher expectations. Service was good considering it was busy. Returned recently and was disappointed with the service overall. Small things matter...Dirty fork and being left alone for too long especially when restaurant isn't busy, should be basics. Having hot plates and hot cups for coffee was a really nice touch. Something other restaurants need to note. Attention to detail make all the difference. We'll be going back at some point but will wait for the summer to enjoy the view ! read more
