Great varied menu . Attentive service : we had the prawn cocktail ( sauce had a tad too much hot sauce . Lobster mango sushi , and sea bass a tad user cooked .

Went to the Beach House for early Father's Day breakfast. Stayed inside for the AC. They do have a big outdoor deck to enjoy the Sun. The deco is nice. Bathroom updated. Service was very good. I had the Beach house special. Two eggs, sausage, smoked bacon, potato pave and soft biscuit. Served with jelly and ketchup. Just enough food to keep me happy. Others in my party has the eggs Benny, Lump crab Benny and the avocado and white Benny. All looked great and went down well. Prices are medium but it is happy hour from opening to 2pm, so save around $5.00. The view is what you come for besides a great breakfast. We did some walking on the Dundarave beach. A great Father's Day outing.

Food Quality: *** Service: *** Ambiance: *** Value: *** It was an okay experience. The food was decent and while the service wasn't great it wasn't necessarily bad either. The newarby views are definitely worth seeing and a highlight. It does feel quite touristy so it was hard to know what to expect but overall it was a decent experience.

This is a perfect place for a celebration or to really treat friends. The setting is simply gorgeous. Much of the seating is on patios right by the beach. At dinner during sunset the ambiance is unmatched. The seating is also a bit terraced so everyone has great views. The service is also good. As for the food: - lobster and mango rolls - these are good, though the sauce is a bit too strong. - clam chowder- good - Sablefish - tender, flaky and done just right. Good light flavour, but I felt it was missing the truffle sauce. I had to flag down a waiter to bring some to me. - sea bass and spaghettini - both seemed good according to my family - strawberry napoleon - done really well. Crispy and light wafer layers, great taste and texture. After dinner we walked out of the patio onto the beach. There were live musicians. Just perfect.

So impressed by the service and warm greeting as soon as we walked in! Love that they celebrated all occasions with a wonderful handwritten card! The food was lovely in itself! Great display and awesome taste! Highly recommend for any occasion! Worth the price!

Nice restaurant with a view. The patio seating is beautiful outside. We went for brunch and we were the first few guests at the restaurant, they said the whole restaurant was reserved even though it was empty when we asked if we could sit outside. After asking several times we were seated outside with an hour and half dining time. We ordered the eggs benedict and crab cake benedict. The food was great and the potato pave was delicious. I have not seen this served with a benny at other restaurants. The ingredients tasted fresh and everything came out very quick (probably because we had a seating time limit). Food was great and you are paying for the ambience and view.

I loved this restaurant, the view is amazing, especially at sunset, it's magical, a sunset with the sea, you can imagine.. The service is very good, even though we went there without a reservation, they welcomed us.. The restaurant is upscale and the food is very delicious, especially the seafood.. I liked the service there a lot, I was a little cold so they gave me a blanket.. It's 5/5

For a city on the ocean there aren't many good restaurants seaside. However the Beach House stands out as one of the best. Great ambiance, good service and reliable tasty dishes indoors and outside with great views of Kits, Jericho, Lions Gate and Stanley Park.

We got a walk-in table by the bar, but next time, we'll definitely make reservations; this plan seemed like it gets busy! Tried the tuna poké bowl; the rice was perfect and I liked the toppings. Could've used more tuna, though-- it was super delicious. The restaurant is right at the beachfront, so after eating, you can walk along the shore and see Stanley Park and the mountains. Lovely!

I had to finish my salad with a leftover egg I had in the fridge. 2. I had to add my own dressing. 3. Tail end of the fish which makes an improperly cooked fish even drier. Conclusion: Extremely stingy portions. Both Protein & Dressing. (SEE PIC.) Ok..... I had the Salmon Salad. The size of the salmon I would say was comical if I hadn't paid $19 for it. It was so overcooked and so thin that technically It could've been Salmon Jerky. The Salad itself, which was a combination of cabbage, shredded lettuce, cranberries and edamame with a tiny sliver of a small avocado cut in half on the side. lol. I mean honestly I can't take this review seriously. It was as if a 7 year old made me their first salad. Again, perhaps cute if It hadn't cost me $19. Service? Not great. Not terrible. I tried something new this time. It was a cold rainy day so I was in the mood for a bowl of hot soup and noodles. I had a Vege Udon. My mom ordere the seafood Udon. So OK...I suppose soup and udon noodles isn't exactly trying something new as I've definitely had soup and udon noodles before. However, udon noodles are something I have rarely ever ordered over the years. Especially as Ramen seems to have gotten more popular over the years than Udon. Plenty of Ramen restaurants within Greater Vancouver, but how many restaurants in Vancouver specialize in udon? Not very many. I don't know why I don't order udon noodles more often. When it's a cold, rainy day I always think Ramen noodles but this bowl of Vege Udon was just as satisfying as any bowl of Ramen. Actually, maybe more so since I've had lots of Ramen over the years but hardly any bowls of udon noodles. This was a refreshing change of pace. They serve the udon noodles in what appeared to be a cast iron bowl. Simple yet so elegant. I loved the flavor of my broth. It was a nice, light broth. Not too rich, and it had a sweet flavor to it. I think I've just regained a new appreciation for Udon noodles!

The thought of being downtown is awful...hot summer night, BC Lions game on, beaches packed. So over the bridge to West Vancouver and to Wooden Fish because it's there, it's reliable and the owners and workers there are kind. So the story of Wooden Fish is captured on their menu, and I share that below, because it's an important part of the experience of eating there. The food is great. A small bowl of spicy beef noodle soup hit the spot and I wish I had noticed the specials sheet because the satay soup bowl looked amazing too. We arrived around 2 PM for our reservation and were greeted warmly right away, which made for a great first impression. The restaurant itself is beautiful. The bamboo divider running through the middle of the space gave it a cozy, modern Japanese-inspired feel, and the overall atmosphere was probably my favorite part of the experience. As for the food, unfortunately it didn't quite live up to the hype for me. I ordered the seafood sizzler bowl, and while it wasn't bad by any means, it felt underwhelming for the price. The bowl was mostly rice, with a few small prawns, tiny scallops, a little roe, and some crab mixed in. I was expecting something more seafood-forward, so it ended up feeling more like a deconstructed fried rice than the premium dish I had envisioned. Same with the unagi bowl, couple small pieces of unagi cut up... The appetizers were actually the highlight of the meal and ended up being more memorable than my main course. I kept waiting for a dish to really wow me, but nothing stood out enough to make me crave a return visit. Maybe I just ordered the wrong items, because I know this place has plenty of fans. Overall, I'm glad I tried it, but based on this visit, I don't see myself making a special trip back.
