Stewart Heating & Air (Adam) installed our unit five years ago and we've never had any issues whatsoever. We only had annual tune-ups and everything was perfect. This year, our water heater broke down and had to be replaced. The only problem was that it was too big to remove from the utility closet because the AC/Heat unit was slightly too big. We had to call Adam at Stewart to take apart the unit that had absolutely NO problems. He moved it and came back after we replaced the water heater. Adam put the unit back together like new and gave us a good price for the job. I highly recommend Stewart for ANY Heating and Air Conditioning needs, from tune-up, to new installation. Reduced stress by going with this company. After really stressful experience with my home warranty company and their terrible contractor in my area, I was recommended Stewart HVAC by a neighbor, so glad I listened. My 30 plus year system that originally came with the house was not cooling. The tech First American Home Warranty sent over was super rude and you can tell only wanted to do the bare minimum. That's on the warranty companies, I feel like they only want to hire the cheapest of the cheap for any job I have needed so far. After a week of coming back periodically to run more tests, he finally concluded "there's a leak in your condenser and bad coil, I need to send report". Of course they cannot provide a copy of this report. Later he says "Warranty company may replace but sometimes could cost out of pocket 20 thousand :/" After asking around a lot of people tell me this can be fixed, however months prior I had an AC tech come out and check the system before the summer months, he said it may last this summer but a lot of the parts are getting too rusted and the compressor was ready to go any time. So I decided rather then going the band aid route and go through this process the whole summer into next year, time for a new system. After getting quotes from a few contractors it ranged from 12k to 8k. A neighbor recommended Stewart Heating and Air conditioning , I called and Adam came the next day. He didn't try to talk up a storm and sell me a bunch of things I didn't need. Without any negotiating he gives me his quote and beat out everyone else. I said that's good to go. We scheduled for two days later. He showed up at the exact time he said with his assistant and everything he needed for the install. They took about 6 hours and didn't have any issues. Which is surprising to me cause for some reason something always goes wrong with me when trying to get something fixed. I am very pleased with the work, as you can see from the pictures my old system was ready to go . The new system looks very impressive, the lines and connections look very professionally done. They had to make modifications to the base and the holes for the lines and switch box, rather than leaving a hole because the old box was so big they redid some stuco to keep it clean. I am very happy with the look. As for performance, the old system worked well for being so old and kept the house cool in the summer during 110 degree plus days if you kept the temp low from morning to evening. But this unit cooled the house in like 5 minutes in the middle of the afternoon and just feels much stronger when blowing cool air. Also their smart thermostat looks simple and easy to use, connects to your phone. Adam walked through everything he did and answered all my questions. One of my concerns was the condensate drain, which wasn't draining when I had issues with the old system, I was worried I would have a leak somewhere in the house. I later found out if the coil was bad likely wasn't producing any water anyway. But the line was blown out and he added a sensor switch in case the line ever got clogged and backed up the switch would automatically turn off the system. No other concerns, the system looks great and cools the house fast. I asked Adam if he would install a whole house fan later on, he said sure he could do it no problem but with this new system being so energy efficient I really wouldn't need a whole house fan. There's 1500 bucks saved. On top of that the Home warranty company cashed me out for another 2k for going with my own contractor. So I feel like I didn't spend all that much on a new HVAC system, right before a hundred degree week. Thank you to Adam and Stewart Heating and Air Conditioning. read more

Honest Honest Honest!!! I have used Stewart Heating and Air Conditioning in the in the early years when I moved to Moreno Valley in 1997, it has been awhile since I used their services. My system was not getting air on the second floor. Tim the service technician came in took his time and diagnosed the problem with my damper, it was simple but he could have made it out to be something bigger $$$. This past winter, California was hit with record breaking low temps that hovered near freezing. As Murphy's Law would have it.... The furnace went out at my mom's house in Moreno Valley, just when we needed it most. I needed someone in a hurry and being that Stewart Heating & Air was nearby, I gave them a shot. Adam Stewart, came to my residence within 15 minutes and made a quick diagnosis and offered a fair estimate range for a quick repair. The repair ranged from the initial 49.00 if it were simple to as high as 500.00 if the job required extensive repair. For that initial call, he waived the service fee and disclosed that he wasn't going to charge me when nothing had been completed. Most HVAC service technicians charge you the service call fee regardless if they make repairs or not. This kind gesture allowed me to put faith in the Stewart Company. He gave me the option of a more prudent solution of replacing the entire furnace with a brand new unit for roughly under 1500.00 It seemed steep at the moment, but he didnt push the sale and offered to work within my budget. To be on the practical side, I inquired with several other HVAC companies and was floored by their prices and sales tactics. Some tried to get me to sign price commitment contracts leaving the burden of cancellation on my end, where I imagined forgetting and being locked into an expensive contract. Their price ranges albeit their service offered changing the entire AC and Heating System. (Did I need that???) Nonetheless, I was floored when their prices ranged from 8000-12000 US Dollars. I let a few days pass, and I could no longer suffer this extreme cold. I gave Stewart Heating & Air a call and Adam Stewart was back at my place in 15 minutes. He spent 15 minutes testing the equipment, bypassed the electric ignition pilot and observed all the mechanical and heating elements in working condition. He Diagnosed the problem quickly and replaced 2 parts (Relays and a Fan Switch), he also replaced my filter and rewired everything back to specs. The beauty of the encounter was that his price was fair and honest and the total out of pocket expense was 200 dollars. I was actually willing to replace the entire furnace at 1500.00, and he could have easily had me commit, but offered the more affordable repair. I do understand that my home and equipment are old and a day will come that I need to overhaul the entire heating and cooling unit. When that day arrives, I will certainly call Stewart Heating and Air, and I gladly recommend their service to everyone. Truly service quality you can trust and rely on. Another late review, but better late than never, right! The service date was 7/25/2011. Again, I asked a reliable vendor I use and trust for a "GOOD" HVAC company recommendation. The referral was for Tim Stewart HVAC. Our upper level HVAC unit was not working, no cool air. Adam was our Technician, he arrived within the scheduled time slot. He checked the unit. We needed a capacitor. He had one on hand. I authorized the installation. The part came with a One (1) year warranty along with a lifetime warranty for labor, both listed on the receipt too! The problem was located quickly. The part and service cost were reasonable. No complaints. If necessary, I will use this service provider again. read more

Here's the executive summary. When you find a great barber you keep them. Same goes for Tim Stewart Heating and Air. Recently I had a heating and air company come out for a 'tune-up special'. Essentially this was inviting a con artist into my home. They found $4000 of unneeded repairs. Talking with friends it appears this type of behavior is typical with HVAC companies. Yeah, you know what I'm talking about. It got hot last weekend and the cold output of my AC was pitiful. I went to yelp and picked Tim Stewart. I guess I live a charmed life. What a great experience. Tim came out and found my refrigerant had leaked out through a bad valve. He went into the attic and inspected my unit. He found nothing wrong but the lack of refrigerant. He explained to me the several options, the various costs and the plusses and minuses. I made my choice based on his recommendation (not the most expensive choice) and he went to work. Not a dime more than his estimate. Even better. The service call was on a Sunday (4-22-12, 100 degrees). Yeah, you heard me. A Sunday! Tim didn't charge anything extra for Sunday work. Try that with another contractor. Ha. Just to sweeten the deal, he showed up within fifteen minutes of when he said he would. At our home we had problems with our furnace and we were quoted from two other companies that we needed a new furnace for 5 or six thousand dollars. We finally had Adam come in and he took one look at it and told us that there was no need for us to replace the whole furnace, but that only one part needed to be replaced. It only came out to a few hundred dollars instead of thousands of unneeded dollars, and he fixed it perfectly for us without any issues. My Furnace was not igniting so I called for an appointment, they had an opening the same day! I was so happy to hear that, then Adam came for the repair during the time stated I am always happy about that. Adam told me I needed a new vacuum switch and how long it would take and how much it would cost. I agreed and he started right away he explained to me what the vacuum switch was and how it worked and then we had pleasant conversation while he worked. Approximately 30-45 minutes after he got here he was done and I had my furnace burning like it should and my home a nice toasty temperature. Our air conditioner kept blowing a fuse when we turned it on. I called Adam and he came by the same day. He replaced a faulty capacitor inside the unit and it has been running great ever since. I don't like leaving negative reviews of Family owned businesses in Moreno Valley. It's tough making a living out here, but I feel like my mistreatment by Tim Stewart and his employees warrants one star and a warning to others. I called last Monday (granted it was the hottest week of the year-91 degrees inside) and told the receptionist that our air conditioner motor was out. The earliest appointment available was on Friday. On Friday, two technicians come out and tell me what I had already told them...no motor. I ask for an estimate on how much it would be to replace and when they could get the motor. The technician has NO idea but says the part will be in on Monday and he will call to let me know. No idea?? In this day of instant information?! I spend all Monday morning waiting for a call. I finally call them and they nonchalantly let me know that they don't have me on schedule or any information. They should get it (what?? Parts?? Information??) tomorrow. You know what happens next...on Tuesday no call. I call them that late Tuesday morning and no information, no parts. I asked the receptionist if I could please speak to the owner to let him know what's going on...no return phone call from him, but I did magically get a call that my part was in and it would be $948!! Seriously?! I ended up calling another company. Even if I need to have a brand new unit put in (I purchased this unit from this company) I will not purchase from Tim Stewart. I will find a MoVal company that needs the money! ADD ON after calling another company-- Really wish I could give this company less than one star!! I called Scott Heady Air Conditioning at 10 am on Tuesday. Was here at 2:00 Tuesday. Problem fixed at 4:00 Tuesday. $66.95 total!!!! read more
