I was using Stewart Carpeting for my bedroom carpets. One of the owners came to
my house for a deposit for this order. I gave him a $500 check for my carpets & an
unfortunate situation occurred & he destroyed my living room carpets.
After assisting him in defusing the problem, he left promising he would replace my carpets.
The next day I contacted him in the late afternoon to see where things stood. Against my better
judgement, since this was a hazardous waste I let him send someone to my house & try &
clean the carpets. When this did not rectify the situation, he once again promised he would replace my carpet. I told him I was not comfortable with this material being in my living room
& I would like the carpet removed as soon as possible especially since I often had several grandchildren at my house. He agreed. I never heard from him for the next 3 days. After several phone calls he finally called back & knowing I was very upset, he & his brother came to my home to remove the carpets. This then played out for 18 more days with all of the contact
being initiated by myself. In the mean time my bedroom carpet had not been received & I
do not believe it was ever ordered and my living room had not been even measured so that
carpet to replace it could be ordered. After 23 days & still nothing being done since Mr. Stewart had destroyed my carpet, I decided I really did not want to do business with such untrustworthy
people. My husband went to their store & demanded our $500 deposit back. I was now faced with paying for new carpeting for my living room, stairs & hall since this carpet was the same throughout. After seeking legal advice I sent a certified letter to Stewart Carpeting with a copy
of the receipt for the cost of my living room carpet, HOPING they would do the right thing &
cover this cost. That was a month ago & I still have not heard a word from them. Please do
not be fooled by this family owned business like I was. I thought I would be treated better than
dealing with a large company. Unfortunately that was not the case in dealing with these 2
brothers. read more
