The Sales Experience I dealt with Carlos, Ramy, Anthony (sales manager), and others at their Montclair location. The car I purchased wasn't actually there; instead, I got a message from Anthony at their Bellflower location saying the car was being transported. That was around 9 a.m., so I drove down to Montclair -- only to end up waiting over four hours for it to arrive. During that time, Ramy had me sign all the paperwork while the car was still in transit. He kept assuring me, "You're going to love the car -- it's a great car." Foolishly, I trusted his word and didn't inspect the vehicle before signing. When the car finally arrived, I immediately noticed numerous scratches, deep dings, and a rough interior that clearly needed a professional detailing. I pointed these issues out, and they assured me everything would be fixed. We shook hands, and I believed them. Broken Promises I made an appointment with their service department, where I was attended by Marina. She immediately told me they wouldn't repair anything because it wasn't listed on their "due bill." I explained that Ramy had promised the fixes verbally, but she refused to honor it. I left the vehicle with them for nearly a week, and when I picked it up, it was in worse condition than when I dropped it off. None of the promised work had been done. When I tried to reach out for resolution, I was constantly given the runaround. Anthony (sales manager) even hung up on me, and neither Carlos nor Ramy would return my calls. Deceptive Add-Ons and Overcharges On top of everything else, they tried to charge me $900 for window tinting and another $900 for door bumper guards -- both outrageously overpriced. After some haggling, I got the price lowered, but the tint job had bubbles, and the car still had visible scratches. Final Thoughts This dealership will say anything to make a sale and get you out the door, but once they have your money, you're on your own. If you're considering buying from STG, learn from my mistake: Get everything in writing. Make sure all promises are clearly listed on your due bill. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS DEALER!!!!! I picked up a truck 3/7/26 from them and on 3/8/26(the next day) I had issues with it. I called over and I was told by David my sales rep, that I would be hearing from the manager later that afternoon. Well the came and went and no call. So I called back and David told me there was nothing he can do since the service department was closed by then. Next day I called and again no one was able to help me. I've been calling the last 4 days and no luck. Today I talked to David and he had the nerves to hang up on me mid conversation. Do not buy any vehicles from STG. I've been a customer since 2018, never had an issue until the last couple years. I purchased a 2021 bmw 330i, which I kept up to date with all the maintenance. Only added 20k miles to it since owning it making the odometer 40k miles. Since then, I had to replace the brakes, fix the loose tailpipe, replace the engine mounts, and now of the gaskets needs to replace which is going to run $1500. Called and explained the issue and all I got was being placed on hold, transferred around and hung up on. Specifically the manager named Rami, never called me back or cared to want to follow up. I listed my truck for sale on AutoTrader, several "buyers" contacted me, no last name, only first names, both turned out to be from STG Montclair, CA. We agreed on a price, I took my vehicle in, it passed their inspection, when it came time to sign the docs, they told me I had to sign everything electronically via link sent to my iPhone. Are you kidding me? Can you imagine trying to read / initial / sign docs on your phone? Nothing was printed, they had one written doc which had the price omitted, wouldn't update it, I refused to sign electronically because I couldn't read or understand what I was signing. This is a very bad and deceptive business practice, it allows them to go in after the fact and make document changes, this was verified in a Google search, common small dealer sales fraud tactics. I left the lot, refuse to sell them my vehicle. All salesmen seemed very "shady", wouldn't give me their full names, didn't have business cards, and made very little eye contact when discussing the process. They insisted everything would be fine with me signing the electronic docs on my phone, even though I could not reasonably be sure of what I was signing. Deal took 5 hours to negotiate. I didn't want their horrible warranty or their other add ons. Only wanted the truck. Originally we had a good experience purchasing the vehicle where we got a good price for what we wanted. We were purchasing out of state though and they charged up for California license & registration even though it could have been avoided. Ceaser was our sales representative who sold us the vehicle. After driving 2+ hours on the road home it became dark outside and we unfortunately found out that the headlights were out. I called them and they told us to come back the next day to replace them. No we drove over 2 hours AND we were leaving to go back home to Texas the next day. They then agreed to reimburse us for the purchase of new headlight bulbs. The next day we get a phone call from Ceaser saying that he missed some paperwork while we were signing stuff and to come back down and get it signed, again driving 2+ hours and we are supposed to be heading back to Texas to make it back to work in time. We asked if we could have it emailed to us so we could sign digitally and they told us no. However when I called HR to file a complaint on how unprofessional this was HR agreed that they could have emailed us the document. Very UNPROFESSIONAL you are a cars sales man and you took extra time energy and money away from us by having us drive back down to you for one signature on a line that you missed. The offer dropped without proof of claim of damage, truck was like new without repainting that they claimed it had which resulted in said price drop, and I drove 2 hours in lieu of pick up for their lagging in time agreement. They asked for SSN for "identity" purposes and promised they would not run my credit. I made the idiotic mistake of giving them my SNN. Guess what I saw on my credit report a few days later? A hard inquiry for an Auto loan ran by STG auto group. I called to inform them that they had no right to run my credit, the sell mans agreed and promised to look into it and call me back. Crickets for 2 weeks now. But when they wanted me to leave them a good review they sure made it a point to contact me 4 times to ask me to give them a review... As of March 3, 2025. I would love the opportunity to give a better rating but currently I have to advise what others are saying is true and to stay away from this company. I bought my vehicle Nov, 2024. I knew they were going to add unnecessary items to my contract and sale, I was fine with that as long as I got the deal I wanted which was a better monthly payment and interest rate. I also bought a maintenance package in case of smaller problems that usually pop up after buying a used car. The package included oil changes, wiper blades, other filter replacements, and basically anything besides engine, brake or major items. I confirmed this with the manager, his manager, and later the admin assistant. The problem starts here - I noticed I never received the actual paperwork for the maintenance package, how and where to get the oil changes and other things/repairs done. I ended up having to pay out of pocket because I waited weeks with no reply. I have since been trying for almost 2 months now to get the manager or someone who can address this to get back to me. They keep saying the manager is out but will "make a note to have them call me". They do not. I call every week despite the stress this has been causing. The other issue is they (the manager himself) told me that the spark plugs are part of the inspection they do and work on before selling, however, my mechanic did a full report and showed me mine were over 10k miles overdo for a replacement (detailed report, photos of the spark plugs included). This was causing the car to not start, stall, and have idle issues while driving and became a safety concern. The one and only time I got someone on the phone they said they were the manager and would work with me on getting that reimbursed since it was a safety issue and should have been taken care of prior to sale. I again asked about the reimbursements for the other things I have already paid for like oil change, wiper blades, etc and all he could say was I should have gotten the paperwork for the maintenance package with info on that, I did not, he said he would get back to me on that as well. Nothing has happened though. If they are able to amend these issues I will be more than happy to change my rating. I am also approaching the BBB about this as well. They could improve their integrity. We found them on car guru. They advertised a used truck for $36,000 showed pictures, listed all the information. The truck looked perfect. We made an appointment to see it. Explained we needed exact amount with taxes and everything as we would be paying by cashiers check. The paperwork by the time they were done came to $49,500 we said hell no they tried to add on all kinds of crap at exorbitant prices. We finally agreed to 38,200 then when we got down there the truck appeared to be the one in the photos however, it had no tailgate now. They said no problem they would ship it to us. We had them put it in the contract. Then when got home (300 miles away) we realized the back up camera didn't work. We called them and they said it would come with the new tailgate. After 2 weeks we called to inquire about the tailgate they said they just GOT IT IN and that they sent it to the shop to get painted and they would ship it as soon as it was done? So another 2 weeks go by and no word from them. We called them and they gave us the run around. They were not sure what was going on they had to talk to their supervisor and promised to call us back. This went on for another 3 weeks they would put us on hold and never come back. We had been patient up until then. Fast forward we purchased the truck Oct. 25th it's now Dec 5th finally this woman calls and says she had been on the phone all day trying to find a shipping co. and that none of them would do it because it was too heavy! She said we were just going to have to come and get it. We explained we lived 300 miles away and that the contract said they would ship it. So the next day I call both UPS and Fed Ex and both said yes they could do it no problem. We called back get put on hold as usual no one ever calls back. We finally gave up called and finally just told them a family member would pick it up the Sunday after Christmas. Of course the supposed shop (maintenance) it was in wasn't open on weekends! Finally after getting extremely agitated we were able to make arrangements to have it sent over to the dealership we had bought it from. Family member picks it up brings it home and it's the original tailgate!!! No explanation why it wasn't on there when we bought the truck. 2 months they led us to believe they had to get a new one and it had to be painted. It's the original tailgate the scratches on the inside match the scratches in the truck bed. Then when we go to put it on the wiring to the back up camera is all stripped so we have to get that done.2 months tons of lies and disrespect no apologies. I swear we never were pushy or disrespectful to them even when the were clearly blowing us off. Do not purchase from them!!! In the end the truck was a pretty decent deal. But only because we wouldn't allow them to just blow us off. I don't think they ever intended to even give us a tailgate. Weird. read more

When STG texted me about buying my car, they claimed to be a George. I was told that there was no George who I was texting with but an AI program. George told me to call in about buying my car. When I did I found out there was no George. I canceled the deal because I didn't trust them. A day later a man named Wilson called from STG wanting to know why I canceled the deal. Our experience with Wilson was not so good. We were assured by Wilson that he would meet us at the appointed time to complete the transaction. He wanted us to feel valued and that they could be trusted. Since he didn't show up, I guess he didn't want us to feel valued. I'll try to make this as brief as possible, but there were so many negatives about my experience....after showing up there Ryan gets us to go into an office to "talk numbers" making it seem like he's going to work with us on the price. I have my baby with us and my husband is trying to make this quick so he tells them, if you can't do the price we want, that's totally fine, we will be on our way. Ryan tells us he can make the deal happen, but then it turns into over an hour of him going back and forth with his "manager" trying to make the deal happen. Finally, we get somewhere then they throw on the GPS tracker charge, paint protection charge, and window tint charge. These are all absolute SCAM CHARGES. The GPS was an insane amount and why do I need a tracker on my car? They put these on their cars to protect themselves while the vehicle is at their dealership, then they try to tell you it's a beneift for you? Um NO. Paint ptotection - he couldn' even accurately tell us what this was. Window Tint - They say, oh if you want darker window tint, no problem, just call us and schedule and appointment and we will get it done. I tried calling for 3 weeks straight and no one ever answered. I finally got an through to someone but then came to find out if you want ceramic tint, it's extra. At that point, I was better off just paying someone else to tint my car. Skipping past a lot of other BS, we eventually end up buying the car because it was the model we wanted and we couldn't find it anywhere else. It's a nice car, but my husband and I still wish we never would have bought a car from them just due to all the BS we had to go through with them and the amount of time I wasted afterwards trying ahold of them to get issues resolved. When we got to the dealership, the front tire was flat. They filled it up and it seemed to be fine, but they told us if anything came of it, to just let them know and they would take care of it. Ryan even old us that if needed, they would get us a new tire, so we felt confident that it would get taken care of. Next day, I take the car to get the wheels powdercoated and the shop realizes there is a nail in the tire. I call up STG and at first they told me it wouldnt be a problem, they would get me a new tire. They just needed to check with the service manager and they would get back to me. They never get back to me so a week later, I call back and the guy has no idea what I'm asking about and says no way they can't get me a new tire. Long story short, a lotttt of phone calls later and we never got our tire. Just A LOT OF TIME WASTED ON THIS ENTIRE PROCESS. I traded in a car. The purchased car they brought wasn't detailed or even cleaned well. I immediately noticed many, many cosmetic issues they did not disclaim. They said they would take care of those, but not within the 7 day return period. After a few days I noticed even more issues and having no trust in the company at that point I let them know on day 3 I would be retiring the vehicle. I never received confirmation of my return and had to spend an hour on the phone to have them email me confirmation before the 7 day return period expired (at which point it would be my word against theirs). They picked up the piece of crap vehicle and returned my trade-in, we signed the return paperwork and at the end of the transaction they told me they didn't have my title and it would be sent in 3-5 days. It has been now 10 days and I've had multiple people tell me they would call me back and or have the title overnighted to me, but after spending another 90 mins on the phone today they confirmed they title was still in their office and there was nothing they could do since it was the weekend and that I would have to call them tomorrow. Avg wait times for calling are over 1 hour, their chat bot is worthless, and they don't accept incoming emails. To pour salt on the wound I was transferred three times today (6/13/2021) and the third person I talked to on the phone kept talking over me and wouldn't let me finish. I found a vehicle on their online website and just wanted to come by to inspect the vehicle for my elderly Mother that was in need of a car. I asked to have the car ready for my arrival which the Sales guys said "sure no problem" only to have to wait on the lobby then locate the vehicle move other cars out of the way before we could test drive. The car was very dirty and had cobwebs on the wheels. After bugging me several times for a number I reluctantly provided it to them ONLY to confirm the appointment. I needed time to coordinate with my Mother to check it out and was very clear with the sales guys that I was only researching on her behalf. Over the next 5-6 days I got no less than 15 calls and/or text messages from STG about "making a deal" and had to tell them multiple times that I wasn't ready and would get back to them when I was ready to come back. I also started getting a ton of spam calls and robocalls which was a strong indicator that they sold my number for marketing purposes and had to field about 20-25 new spam and robocalls in the first few day ... and still getting them 3 weeks later! At no point did they ask for my consent to use my number for anything other than making an appointment. I ended up not going back after being so frustrated with the flood of annoying calls and text messages following my visit. read more
