Jared and his team did a full backyard remodel at our house in San Jose. The job included a recessed vault for a swim spa. It featured a concrete pad, reinforced cinder block walls, and a robust drain system. After the spa and deck was installed, he finished the yard with pavers, retaining walls, french drains, cap lights, irrigation lines, and fresh sod for the front yard. The backyard had odd angles and a challenging grade, but Jared knew how to handle the situation. He started by hauling truckloads of dirt out, then regraded everything with laser levels. Most of the dirty work was done over the winter. There were weather delays, and a flu season, but Jared was always quick to get back to work to keep the job rolling. Jared also stands behind his work. A water leak developed under the pavers months after the job was complete. No one ever likes a 'call back', but Jared followed through and repaired the leak and reinstalled the pavers on his own dime. That's integrity! We couldn't be happier with the results. Jared showed a very professional image starting from the on-site quoting appointment. He came right on time and listened very carefully to my description of the project. To better assess the project, he also dug a few holes on the ground to check that my retaining wall is deep enough. Jared's transparency gained my trust. On his first visit, Jared handed me a booklet of a very good selection of pavers and also shared the the stores that he buys the pavers. I could imagine many customers would find it helpful to see the product when making decisions on the pavers and patterns. Jared built his reputation with his excellent construction work. I lived in a new community, all my neighbors are paving their backyard. We have a similar scope of work. Jared completed the entire 1000+sf pavers and sidewalk in less than 2 weeks, but many of my neighbors had their yard as a construction zone for a few months. Their contractors only come to work one or two days per week. I guess it is a general practice for contractors to work on multiple projects at the same time, with the cost of customers living in dirt for months. Last but not the least, Jared really cares about customer's needs. I have to admit, I am not a good customer, I changed my plan multiple times during the construction. Jared always thinks from my perspective and would like to spend the efforts to work on my changes. I could never have this flexibility if I signed a contract with a big company / contractor. ---- The above is the review of Jared's work that was completed 9 months ago. I feel bad that this review has been in draft mode for so long and I just noticed it. The last two pictures were taken today, after 9 months of use with almost zero maintenance. Besides the pavers, the drainage system also works great during the heavy rains over the past few weeks. Jared was great to work with! He responded quickly. He came out, listened to our ideas and gave us ideas as well. He brought samples by for us to test out. We scheduled for him to come out in a reasonable timeframe. He did an excellent job! We had pavers for the patio with flowerbed edging, turf and pea gravel. The turf we chose was backordered so we decided not to wait and chose another turf. He gave recommendations and was willing to do everything it took to make sure we were happy. He added a nice retaining wall for a tree and ran irrigation for the flower beds. He always responded quickly and we were always in the loop. He got the job done in about a week and a half. I think ordering the new grass slowed it up a bit. Everything looks great! He was very detailed in his work. We're in a new development so all of our neighbors are putting in backyards. The contractors they're using have taken weeks! Oh and his prices were very reasonable! He was the best priced (significantly!) of all of the quotes we got. read more

Five stars isn't enough for DiSalvo Landscape. If I could give them ten stars I would. Jared and his team are absolutely amazing. They do extremely high quality work and are very professional. Most important, Jared is honest, has integrity and is just a flat out good person. And did I mention pet friendly? We felt very comfortable that our dogs safety were also being considered during this project. Jared is EXTREMELY responsive whenever we called him. Imagine a contractor that actually picks up their phone or calls back within a couple of hours. This is not the norm based on what we encountered with other contractors we considered. Jared is a perfectionist and that clearly shows in his work. He not only listened to our ideas but also chimed in with suggestions that we pretty much followed. This guy clearly knows his stuff. His team showed up on time every day, worked hard and left the place clean. The prices are VERY competitive and Jared made sure that we stayed within budget regardless of the changes we made to the design. Not to mention he did some extra work at no charge because he knew it would make the overall project successful. Jared made our backyard look absolutely beautiful and we are so grateful to him and his team (we will be posting photos shortly). They literally gutted the entire yard, put in a beautiful large paver patio entertainment area, new grass, sprinkler system, drip system and side stamped concrete patio. Very pleased with the work Jared did on our backyard. His quote came in at a very reasonable price and he was very prompt to answer my calls/questions so I went with him over a couple other bids I received. He installed decomposed granite on the side of the house, pavers in the back, and re-sod the grass. He even put up a new fence for us when the storms took ours down. Jared was very detailed oriented and pointed out some things he wasn't happy with and went back to correct, which I may not have noticed on my own. We chose DiSalvo based on other reviews. Jared was great to work with! We had him and his crew remove a tree whose root system was too close to the surface of our lawn. They chipped the stump and surrounding raised roots, plus dug out as much of the root system as they could. They removed our old lawn, rototilled the soil and amended it before laying new sod. Because of raised roots from a couple of trees we had removed a few years ago, they spent a great deal of time removing those root systems as well and then had to reset our bender board and level the area. Our new lawn has now been in for two and a half weeks and looks beautiful. Jared also took the time, although this wasn't part of the job quote, to fix some troubled sprinklers we had gratis. We will call him first for any more landscaping needs. read more
