Salt Bread... Just to let you know, I make my own bread about every other day for daily eating (started using Einkorn flour, too) I make fresh challah about every 2 weeks. I make my own babka, chocolate and cinnamon and a ton of other stuff. I have made tons of sour dough and my own starter but it makes me crazy to have to take 2 days to make it and if you don't catch the rise at just the right time.. it's eh.. plus, as much as my husband loves sourdough I'm not a fan..So here we are driving passed Stick Boy (never been in before) and saw a sign that said.. Salt Bread.. never heard of it so I had to stop and check it out. Never in my life have I and my husband finish a full loaf of bread while driving. OMG it was delicious. Soft, chewy, salty (just a bit) crusty crust, full of flavor.. So now I'm gonna have to try making it myself, but good to know you guys make amazing bread for when I'm lazy! They don't deliver, but their shop is right across the street from the college. So he picked it up and said it was fabulous, very delicious. Crazy amounts of deliciousness here! One of the best breakfasts In Boone. We went thinking we'd get bagel and coffee and had no idea they had a full menu of choices. Everything we ate was fantastic. This is the first restaurant that has offered me 5 some types of cream/milk for my coffee, very impressed. Our choose of the breakfast was hard it make, it was out of this would. We had lunch and again found service & food to be out of this world, especially Quiche, tomato soup & cheesy sandwich. We are only in town 5 days and will make a few more stops because of the food quality & assortment. This is one place to stop at as there are three places to stop. Wow. What an experience! I have to say, stick boy bread was one of my favorite spots that I visited in Boone. When we got there, the line outside the door was a bit intimidating. The line moved much quicker than expected and we were in there in no time. You could smell the amazing aromas from outside the shop. Once we walked in we were greeted at the counter where all the baked goods were. The server was very nice and informative. He gave us the rundown on all the best items (which just happened to be everything) and helped up pick out our items. We ended up getting a few cookies and a sticky bun. Let's start with the sticky bun. I was heartbroken when they said they sold out of the amazing looking cinnamon buns (one of my favs). He ended up steering me towards the sticky bun, much like a honey bun, and even topped it with their awesome cream cheese frosting! It was so freakin delicious! The cream cheese frosting was so creamy and perfect and the actual sticky bun paired perfectly with it. It was very sweet and fluffy. It was definitely a must have for next time. We also got to try a few of their cookies. The regular chocolate chip, the peanut butter chocolate chip, and the kitchen sink cookie. The peanut butter was definitely my favorite. It was a good solid cookie, which can be said about all of them. Nothing revolutionary but everything seemed great flavor wise and texturally as well. I would definitely get the peanut butter cookie again. The last thing I tried was actually a latte (shocker). They sourced their freshly roasted coffee from a local roaster, named hatchet coffee. I tried to get my usual caramel iced coffee but they ran out of caramel. The barista recommend the vanilla and that's what I went with. It was a very good latte and the coffee was spectacular. You could tell the coffee was fresh and great quality. Everything we had made it into a great experience and the prices were reasonably as well! Passing though the area and needed a good cup of coffee . I was attracted by the name ( via Yelp) and the coffee was a thumbs up from me and I am a coffee snob . Friendly staff , very clean space . I give myself a shout out Pat on the back for walking out of there with only a coffee and ONE scone . Their baked goods look incredible . The scone was heavenly . I think it's best for breakfast as their options of breakfast plates and sandwiches is pretty extensive and different from what you can get elsewhere. They have great coffee, too, and when I used to work in Boone nearby, my boss would always come up with some excuse as to why we had to go here for a drink! Stick Boy has been good during the pandemic, too, offering takeout and curbside pickup and social distancing guidelines and hand sanitizer stations. Amazing pastries! We tried the spinach scone, pumpkin scone, cinnamon roll, and cream cheese cinnamon roll. They were all delicious! We also tried some smoothies and they were pretty good. The smoothies did take a while to make but the employee who made them was friendly and enthusiastic. The smoothies were made accurately and I like how they only have a few ingredients in them or you can create your own smoothie. Let me tell you a story. My brother and his now wife met and hooked up as students going to ASU. They would come to Stickboy every other day for coffee, scones, bread and most of all, cookies. Years after graduation they moved to VA, and when they got married, they missed Stickboy cookies so much, they skipped a wedding cake and asked for a mountain of their signature chocolate chip cookies in its place. When it was my turn at ASU, I became a regular myself, and whenever I paid my brother a visit, there would be hell to pay if I didn't bring them a dozen of their favorite cookies. I've graduated now, and live in Dallas TX, but I love Stickboy so much, I will fly into Charlotte and make the extra 2 hour drive to Boone to pick up a dozen before making my way up to VA to see my brother and awesome nieces (minus a couple for the trip). Stickboy is a tradition in my family, one I intend to pass on to the next generation. It's cliché, but for us, Stickboy bakes with love, and when we catch the aroma of their fresh baked goods, we have nothing but sweet memories. I invite anyone who hasn't tried Stickboy to join the tradition. With so many good flavors to choose from, it might be hard to pick at first, but if you'd like a suggestion, start with their chocolate chip cookies. You won't regret it. I know I don't. read more

We contacted them thinking it was a long shot that they might ship bread to us, and boy, did they ever. OMG! What a find. Your bagels are like living in New York again. I had breakfast with my parents here yesterday and it was great! Ordered at the counter and the staff were not just friendly, but very helpful as well. I ordered the soup and half sandwich. When I asked about the soup he told me potatoe soup and that the Italian chicken was going to be ready soon. To my surprise I was the first to get it. It was awesome.
