Well i read reviews and they were bad but the people who rated didn't have prior reviews. So I read the ones that counted and it was good to go. Run. Run as far away from this place as you possibly can. I took my car here for the first time because I moved closer to the area. I usually drive by the shepherd location (no affiliation) on my way home from work so i put it in the navigation and it took me to the westheimer one. I was already there and drove through traffic so I just decided to get it done there. Halfway through the inspection the inspector comes out, an older black man by the name of Bertrand Carter, and tells he that he cannot pass my car for inspection because i have a power steering pump leak. So he then shows me the "leak" that is nothing more that the typical build up of gunk you get after driving a car everyday for 8 years straight for 115,000 miles. This is were things get interesting, he tells me they can fix the the leak for $80 and give me a free re-inspection (remember that this location also has a repair shop attached). I then tell him to just stop what he is doing and just give me my keys back because I'm not paying for an failed inspection when i know that nothing is wrong with my car. David a tall skinny white guy who claimed to be the manager told me that there was nothing they could do. I passed for everything else except his visual inspection. They said that i failed the inspection and still had to pay for the service regardless of whether it passed or not and refused to give my car back to me unless I paid. So, fed up at that point, I just paid so I could get it over with. I went home and cleaned off the gunk that he said was a leak and brought it to the shepherd location I usually drive past to-and-from work. I informed them of the entire situation and told me that the two locations haven't been affiliated for years and that they would take a look at the car before they ran the actual inspection. The new inspector told me that there was no leak and had other technicians take a look and they told me that unless there was physical fluid leaking that he could clearly see while running the test, that gunk and build-up are completely normal for a car that has been driven as heavy as mine and that even if it did fail they would have told me before they ran the inspection test on the computer and not have charged me. The conclusion of the whole situation is that the sticker stop on westheimer has an attached auto repair shop that is struggling to make ends meet, since it is called sticker stop xpress, not auto repair express. And it seems they have been trained to nit pick anything they can to unweary, unknowledgeable people who are manipulated into thinking they have to repair their cars in able to pass inspection in order to keep there repair shop afloat. These people are scam artist who should not be trusted. My recommendation is to bring your car to the Shepherd location where they do good honest work. read more

Our office is nearby so we have been coming here for year. The ownership or management has changed a few times in the last few years. They were very reliable when the bodyshop was Tilden. But things have gone down hill since. Last time when I dropped my truck for inspection the tech said the power steering fluid was leaking and it required a repair. I do all maintenance and most of repairs on my cars myself and don't remember needing to refill the fluid and the reservoir clearly showed the level was adequate. So I told him I d fix it latter!, just did the inspection. Then went accross the street for lunch. Latter they handed me a failed report and said a hose need to be replaced. I thought may be the hose just bursted recently. So I went to the dealership and order a number of hoses (may as well replacing other hoses when I m at it). When I took things apart they were all fine. Could not find any leak. All hoses were in good shape. Since I had all the parts and the truck had almost 100k on it, I replaced them anyway, but pretty p*ssed at that time. When I went back for a "reinspection", I stayed to see what they did. The same tech drove it up the lift, checked the Vin, then printed a report. He did not even open the hood to check the imaginary leak. When they gave me the report, I asked where was the leak you failed me last time, they acted like they didn't know what I talked about, mumbling some thing and walked back to the garage. Few weeks later my coworker went there for an inspection and got the same leaking fluid story (this time both power steering and brake $70 and $90 some for each) but since he had an head up and argued with them. They gave him a past report after some "your car will stall on the street and cause an accident..." crap (if so shouldn't you fail the report?). I am pretty sure these people are crooks and will not have anyone of our business. read more

Last year I took my car in for inspection and waited in the lobby. Back then the window's were clear and you could see into the shop but I just read a magazine. They called me in and told me I needed new blades. I told them I replace the rubber with Honda replacements and they wanted to sell me new blades instead. I said no and they finished the inspection. I paid and and got it and when trying to start the engine clicked. I tried again and it started. Ran another errand and then the engine wouldn't crank at all. I opened the hood they the battery cable was loose. WTF? Why does and inspection shop loosen a battery? I fixed it temporally with a shim, got home and couldn't tighten it up. They had removed the battery post shim and put the cable back on. I was pissed. Happened to go by the other day and the lobby window/shop window was now totally obscured and signs saying no one allowed in the shop. What reputable shop would do that? What are they hiding from the customers. Go here at your own risk. read more

UPDATE: I've been coming here for a few years now for oil changes in both my car and my wife's car, still have had nothing but positive experiences. The staff is friendly, the shop is clean, and the wait time is very short. I don't think I'll be going anywhere else as long as I'm in this area. read more

This is my annual stop for inspection. Get in get out. Pretty quick and it's on the same lot as my mechanic. My only complaint is that the bathroom is atrocious. I know I know, it's a mechanic shop. But when you have a 5 year old screaming they have to use the bathroom and walk into that smelly disgusting mess; you have to figure out a strategic plan quickly. Well hey...it's only once a year and I will just make sure next year I don't have my niece with me or I will go to my mechanic next door (their bathroom is a lot better). read more

Went there for inspection, because I was out of state and had dark tint, it wouldn't pass but Matt recommended a well known business near by that turned out to be great. Went back to get an oil change and had swift service, Matt is friendly and concise with his work. I will def go back again. Had a great experience here. I've never done the inspection myself and I was dreading going cause i was not familiar with the process. These guys made it simple. Walked into a small waiting area with a few people already waiting, so I thought I'd be stuck here for the next hour. In about 15 min I got informed I needed to change my tail light and they did it for about $8. The inspection itself is $25 pass or fail. Super affordable and easy. AVOID THIS SHADY AUTOSHOP!! They need to be sued into oblivion. Every time that I take my car in, they find something "broken". I had that suspicion so before my last visit, an auto mechanic friend visiting for the holidays checked my car and made an inventory of the parts. When I took it in, once again they said that my car required unnecessary services. They even broke and replaced parts that I had just checked minutes ago to justify their suggestions. We need laws to protect us consumers from these criminals. read more

Went here the other day to get an inspection done was recommended by my brother to come and get my inspection sticker said they were fast and gave awesome service so I decided to stop by after work which was about 4:30 and I know that's a little late but it's the only time I can come during the week I walk in ask for just a inspection gentleman was kind from the beginning I fill out the necessary paperwork and he takes my keys from me and tells me I have two people in front of you so it might be 30 extra minutes I say that's fine and go ahead and sit in the lobby less than 10 mins pass by and he calls me and tells me can I speak with you I say fine and first he gives me the sales pitch I see your car is due for an oil change and a tire rotation would you like me to get it done I said no due to the fact I take it to Nissan to get my oil change and tire rotation done for cheaper as soon as I said that gentleman says well due to the fact I was missing a lug nut on one of the tires and because one of the tires were a little damaged nothing big that can cause a sensor light to come on that it was not going to pass i said ok and decided to try out one more place because I have not ever heard of such a thing so I told the guy thanks and went to jiffy lube and my car passed inspection I am guessing because I was only making a basic inspection and it was time to close up shop they wanted to make more money off of me to make it worth their time but instead they lost a potential customer thank you read more

I hardly ever review places, however I went in for an oil change and was quoted a price that I signed for $68.95 plus tax. So ok, no biggie, however when I get my bill was $85. Apparently they use a special tool to remove a piece from my car, which is a typical Toyota. So I feel that should have been mentioned up front. So for 15 years I've gone places for an oil change and never been charged for a part being removed and if I was I guess they usually include in the price upfront. So next time I guess I'll go to Walmart where the price is $50 for synthetic and save $35. read more

Dishonest, do not go here. They said my reverse light bulbs weren't working despite being brand new. I asked him to check the fuse. He said the fuse worked and it would take at least a few hours to find the problem plus repair cost. I left then realized my dash gauges weren't working, including the speedometer. Dangerous! Went to my mechanic who said the fuse wasn't put back in and it took 2 minutes to find the problem. He said The Sticker Stop people are "full of crap" and I've got to agree. read more

I went for a simple inspection, I was told that my car would not pass inspection unless I did a power steering flush. I was charged $61.50 for labor which Mr. Carter performed in 10 minutes, charged $34.95 for material, and a supplies fee of $4.00. I went on line to determine if the State included engine fluids in there inspection criteria - the do NOT. So, they must have been desperate for cash that day, and also unethical.
