So, while waiting we went upstairs for unusual cocktails: tamarind margarita and Kashmiri sunset. Both delicious and tasted of Indian spices. And because it's Friday, the remarkable vegetable Pani puris were available. Wow: we ate five and could have just eaten those for dinner. Go on Friday or Saturday! But we headed downstairs and ordered three items: Matchstick okra: One of the most unusual foods I've had in a restaurant. Simply delicious. Holy smokes! Uttapam: a vegetable pancake that was very tasty. Sort of like a fritter. Butter chicken: accompanied by a tray of add-ons, this was just a wonderful hearty dish. The atmosphere is loud and bright, with lots of colors. But it is not so loud that you can't have a conversation. Highly recommend: I've been to maybe 20 Asheville restaurants and this is in the top two or three.

Saag - lip smacking good, sloppy jai - full of flavor, prawn and kabob scrumptiously charred. Carrot cake and ice cream a perfect ending. We went all out with appetizers and main courses, and everything was excellent. For starters, my husband ordered the buffalo chicken bites and I got the fried pickles. Both were perfectly prepared, and we thoroughly enjoyed them. The burgers were the absolute highlight. I ordered the "Bacon Crunch" style Juicy Lucy, which came stuffed with cheese and topped with bacon jam, pickles, crisp bacon slices, and potato chips for a perfect crunch. My husband went for the "Lucy Loco" burger, which came loaded with jalapeños. Both burgers had incredible flavor, were an ample size, and hit the spot perfectly. The sides were just as impressive. I had the sweet potato fries, and my husband ordered the fried green beans--which were uniquely delicious and really well done. To top it all off, our server, Carla, was very nice and incredibly attentive throughout our meal. Juicy Lucy's is a must-visit, and I will definitely be stopping by again on my next trip to Asheville!

A Hidden Gem Worth Seeking Out…read more Wildwood Still is a fun find -- just know that the entrance can be a little tricky! There's an elevator in the alley outside, but we ended up taking the elevator inside the main lobby of The Moxy, which worked perfectly. Don't let the navigation stress you out; it's worth the effort once you get there. The vibe is a really cool blend of lounge and restaurant -- relaxed enough to linger, but polished enough to feel like a night out. We opted for three small plates and one large plate to share, which turned out to be a great way to sample the menu. Everything was well done and kept us wanting more bites. If you're a whiskey or bourbon fan, you'll be in heaven -- the selection is impressive and one of the clear highlights. Our server was friendly, clearly knew the menu inside and out, and did a great job staying attentive on what was a very busy Saturday night. We had a genuinely great time and would absolutely recommend Wildwood Still for a fun evening out. We'll be back!

All food tasted good. A highlight of the night was the calamari and shrimp. Maybe it's a bit of a reading comprehension issue, but for the bao buns we (a table of 5 people) all read the number 5 and thought it meant it came with 5 bao, but it was actually for 2 bao and the menu meant 5 spice as in 5 spices. I feel like the menu should reword the description to remove the number 5, or be more clear that it actually comes with 2 especially for the price!!!! The description literally started with the number 5, which makes it confusing. This place ain't cheap, and I do like to splurge. Service didn't seem to match the price point of this restaurant, service should be high end with high end prices. All in all, I'd come again but it's not my favorite choice in downtown Asheville.
