Don't be deterred by the rundown looking building. Inside everything was clean and sanitary. Nina was sorting earring when I walked in, and was quick to help. She gave me a lot of great ideas and suggestions, and once I narrowed it down, took me into the back room to do the earring changes. She was meticulous with cleaning my ears and new earrings, regularly swapping gloves in between procedures. I loved that she kept up a steady chatter of great information about how to heal and take care of the piercings, which also served as a good distraction. This was a big decision to make for me because it is my daughter and also because she wanted it to be a special event for both of us. (I originally was going to have it done with her, but I didn't want to take the 8 week hiatus from swimming for the aftercare. Ok ok, truth be told, I wanted her to get it done first to assess the pain factor.) Anyways, I talk too much....I called and pestered them several times with questions, even after thoroughly reading their website several times. They were friendly and informative every time. The studio is clean. They require a consent form for those under 18 to be signed in front of a notary. However, certain days, they do have one on staff; just call ahead. They are closed on Sundays and Mondays. Rich was very thorough at explaining everything and even advised me where to stand to get the best view. It was quick and easy. And according to her, minimal pain. So maybe, just maybe, I'll be back to get mine pierced.

I did my research into various tattoo shops in the area, and settled on Ink Wolves because I liked their portfolios on their website and saw that they had a lot of good reviews. I was a walk in client, and there were a few people ahead of me, so I had to wait awhile but I didn't mind. I am a nurse, so I took this time to examine their cleanliness. I watched to make sure that they were wearing gloves, washing their hands, cleaning the chairs, using sterile equipment, and that the ink was poured into one time use cups. I am happy to report that they passed my little inspection with flying colors. The shop is very small, but it is clean. When you walk in, you'll notice a couch, a loveseat, a couple of chairs, and a desk. On the right wall they have a lot of well organized "tattoo flash" (predawn outlines of tattoos), but it's obvious that these artists like doing custom work, and that's a good thing! Along the left wall as you come in and throughout the shop, you'll see paintings by the various artists that are for sale. Beyond the desk is the tattoo area, and there is a small private room in the back where they do piercings. They have a single stall restroom that customers can use in the back, just ask if you need it. The staff seemed very friendly and professional. They charge a very fair price for their work, and have a lot of GREAT discounts and deals frequently. My artist was Jelly (who is also a piercer), and she was wonderful. I had minimal pain and the tattoo turned out beautifully. It is my favorite of my three ta In short, I would highly recommend Ink Wolves Tattoo (and particularly Jelly) if you are looking for a good tattoo at a good price! PS: they own the smoke shop next door and will occasionally offer coupons for discounts in the smoke shops for their tattoo/piercing clients. It's healing very well! Today, I returned for another tattoo. It's the Rebel symbol from Star Wars and I love it!
