Well, things finally started getting dodgy and I got an abcessed tooth. I remembered seeing Dr. Hamilton's ad in the Banner Gazette, so I gave her office a call. They promptly gave me an appointment and Dr. Hamilton diagnosed and started treating my absess and determined what other pressing issues were on the horizon. She helped me prioritize everything and PAINLESSLY got me back on the path to great dental health. The nicest thing about Dr. H is that she doesn't push unnecessary procedures on you. I have a friend whose dentist has convinced her that all of her old fillings needed replacement. The other thing that I love about Dr. Hamilton and her staff is that they are very gentle with you and do whatever is needed to make sure you're not in any discomfort. They also really care. Dr. Hamilton has called me after a lengthy procedure to make sure I was okay. Overall, I agree with her advertisement - that you're not just a patient, but a friend!

I was really anxious, because I don't have dental insurance, and I knew I'd be paying 100% out of pocket. After calling a couple of places, I called Dale Family Dentistry and spoke to Meredith. Instead of simply running down the office's standard fees, she asked me about what I was looking for in a visit. I was absolutely relieved when she said the office has a program specially designed to help those without insurance! For $225 per year, clients receive two exams, two cleanings, and all x-rays (extremely thorough ones at that!). You even receive 15% off procedures. They had an opening at 4:30, same day, so I took it. From filling out my paperwork to x-rays, the entire team was so, so nice. Each staff member took time to explain what steps were next, and I appreciated that the staff went a little further to explain why certain things were being done. Like 3D xrays-- the dentist was able to see if I had any jaw issues, cysts, etc. I wouldn't have known otherwise! My dental hygienist, Lynn, was absolutely lovely--making sure I was comfortable, no pain, and gave me a lot of positive feedback about what I was doing right and what could be improved. After I arrived I was taken back to my room and assessed by the dental assistant. She was very thorough and explained everything she was doing. The doctor came in and proceeded to evaluate my tooth. He was able to replace the cap and I had no pain or problems since. I appreciate their quick attention to my needs and were able to fix the problem. A office staff came in with a breakdown of the procedures and costs. She gave me the total and my payment options. The expense was a little more than I expected but it was an emergency so I guess it will all be worth it in the long run. The dentist was so rough with me it caused extra pain, was frustrated with me because i wasnt numbing easily . Sent me home & said he cant help. I got the tooth removed same day from my regular dentist which lets me know he wasn't numbing me correctly and should go back to school . If you visit, expect to be overwhelmed by the cost of the treatment plan they prepare for you. The…read morefront staff will be pushy about signing the plan (to prove you acknowledge it) and try to get you to book an appointment for the work that needs to start on this very lengthy list. When you simply want a cleaning, you'll be talked into purchasing all the things your insurance won't cover - like a $30 bottle of Essential Smiles mouthwash (which, by the way, isn't even approved by the FDA) and $20 flouride toothpaste. Then, another dentist will most likely give you a once over and discover yet another tooth that needs a crown. Not really acknowledging you're in the chair - but instructing the hygienist to add it to your treatment plan. Before you know it, the hygienist will brush some stuff over parts of your receding teeth (that are NOT sensitive by way). Upon checkout you'll be surprised to learn that's another $20 treatment not covered by insurance. I had a new patient appointment and two cleanings there last year. After three visits I'll be looking for care elsewhere. I have absolutely no trust in this practice.

I trust him implicitly which is good because I've had a lot of work done (like six major surgeries in the past decade). He's compassionate, funny, honest, and a great dentist. He cares so much that he gives his personal number to patients when the office is closed and over holidays, in case of dental emergencies. His office staff are also gems. I've known them for years, but they take such effort to learn new patients' names and are truly interested in your needs. They all work very hard to accommodate patients especially when you are in pain or have an emergency situation. Dentistry can be painful and it can often be expensive which is why I value my doctor and his staff. They soften both blows with their helpfulness and warmth. I'll be very sad the day that Dr. Nunnally decides to retire. Until then, I'll appreciate his practice for the rare jewel that it is, a health professional that treats every patient like a neighbor not a number.
