Thought we would stop for a cold brew before our flight. Ignored by the roving wait person, I went to the bar to check out the selections. You would think they might offer an assortment of Maui Brewing Co beer (since we'reon Maui), but there were only 2. One on tap and the other in a can. I was more interested in the Ale on tap until I asked the bartender the price. I've known for years that I can buy Maui Brewing products in Dallas for less than purchasing them on Maui, so I shouldn't have been surprised that it would be so expensive at the airport. We got to the airport crazy early for an overnight flight and this was the only sit down place open to grab dinner. They make you order via a QR code and then bring your food to the table. Servers seemed stressed. We ordered chicken nachos as a starter and then a burger and chicken tenders as our main items. Everything came out at the same time because hey, you have to order via a dumb QR code. The burger was able to be customized on the order- you could remove stuff you didn't want. Nowhere did it say this burger came with some weird garlic mayo type sauce on it, nor was there any option to remove it. Nachos toppings got cold quickly but overall they were ok. Chicken tenders were decent. Fries were soggy. Location is convenient near gate 23. Prices are exorbitant but it's an airport so you kinda get what you get. Made it through an entire Hawaiiain trip just to get robbed at the airport. If you're going to charge airport prices at least serve something passable. The chicken sandwich here is mediocre at best, the fries taken straight from a freezer and warmed up. Texture not good, and the taste even worse. Let's be honest - I wouldn't have had dinner tonight at Stinger Ray's by choice...I'd be sitting on a plane at 37,000 feet in FIrst Class where the drinks are free. But our flight to Oakland got delayed (three and a half hours so far!), and the choices inside security at OGG are, ummm, limited. That said, my wife thought the ahi in her poke bowl was perfectly acceptable, and I thought my fish and chips were OK; the Kona Longboard was good, and the prices were what you expect at an airport bar/restaurant. Our server (Rae-Ann, I think) was friendly, prompt, and helpful. If you're at OGG and need a meal and drink, Stinger Ray's is worth a visit. read more

We could not believe the terrible treatment we got from this restaurant and went home feeling scared for our lives. This complaint is for Marnel the bartender on today's shift at 11:50am on Jan 27, 2025 in the Hawaiian airlines terminal. We sat down and all was cordial but after giving us our drinks we didn't see her anymore. Another lady helped us with our last requests and we were given the check and paid. Moments later, Marnel proceeded to follow us to our gate to harass us because we didn't leave her a good enough tip. She was very unprofessional and absolutely rude. She embarrassed us in front of everyone waiting in the lobby of our gate. Also the manager on shift allowed her to confront us about the tip. Also the employees started to take photos of me, my family, and our airline. What for? We were the ones who were being harassed by an employee! This experience left us feeling anxious, embarrassed and very frustrated right before our long flight home. We paid hundreds of dollars to take Hawaiian airlines to have a good experience overall including the terminal, but that did not happen and we will not forget the horrible experience from the bartender at this terminal. read more

We were in the Maui airport on a layover and wanted somewhere to sit down and eat a meal. Stinger Ray's was the first spot we saw after entering the terminal and it was super easy to snag a table right away. The service was great. It's your basic American fare- burgers, sandwiches, salads. I opted for the turkey pesto wrap, which was really good! Their fries are a bit greasy, but I still enjoyed them. I really liked the garnish of pickle chips on the side. My husband enjoyed the crispy BLT. It was a nice filling lunch before we boarded our flight. Love this place!!! Our flight got canceled and we had two super kind waitresses. The first knew to ask when and what we needed including hot sauce. :) She also gave us an extra coupon. The second was polite and attentive as well. I know the food reviews haven't been great - however the shrimp skewer, shrimp quesdilla, pork quesadilla and cheesecake were delicious! We ordered online for takeout and there was no indication of when the order would be ready. So you can periodically check the counter for take out boxes and check with a worker by the self checkout registers. I spoke with one waitress and she directed me to the self checkout area - even though she was busy and there were a lot of customers she was polite. The one who helped me get my order was also friendly and was able to get my food quickly. Food was fine. Definitely over priced, but you are paying for convenience - versus leaving the airport and going through TSA again. TSA closes at 10:30pm by the way. Whenever we had out of OGG we tend to come to this restaurant. We grab a bite to eat and a drink. Most of the time service is slow. They do check on you when they can. But the most recentest time we were waiting for our server(a gentleman) and he was no where to be found. We were short on time already. As soon as we saw him we said we need our check please and he still took 15 minutes. If your short on time don't go here. Other then that the food is alright. Burgers and fries and a cold beer. Had a quick layover here on our way to the Big Island and had such a wonderful experience I had to leave a review. Our server was incredible! So sweet and kind and chatted with us, asking about our trip. They she shared some great ideas to make sure we had everything set. First of all this is a quick place to get a bite to eat and drink it's not a fancy place. My salad was very tasty, fresh chicken and typical Cesar salad. They have a good selection of drinks and beers. Perfect place to sit and wait for your airplane terminal. Services was good too, we had a waitress come and bring our food, and another for our drinks. I read some reviews about people not getting seated; well there's a post in the front as you enter that clearly says seat yourself. The batter was crispy and golden. The soft tortilla was pretty soggy and not heated. The avocado jalapeño crema on the fish was replaced with tartar sauce instead without our knowledge. The tortilla chips were alright but it was pretty hard. Their salsa was plain tasting and there were not enough of it for the chips to dip into. Overall, this place was very convenient since it was near the gates and there weren't any other food establishments next to it. Little bar right in the airport by the gates (in front of Gate 22 to be exact). Staff was friendly and checked in on us at appropriate times. The food was better than expected. I had the turkey pesto wrap and in hind site, I should have ordered more pesto on the side. Still really enjoyable. My side was onion rings and it was perfect. Batter was good, not overly oily and the onions were crisp enough to break w the bite instead of trailing and following your mouth till the whole onion is out of its crispy housing. My friend had the garlic shrimp and that was good too. I wouldn't mind if it was more garlicky. The shrimp was cooked to perfect texture, soft but not raw and not too done where is rubbery. One star is a blessing for this place. Ordered food to go, which was a task in itself, they had to get everything approved by manager to make MINOR changes in the ingredients (removing some items). The manager is very rude, rest of staff is polite. We ordered food to go but changed our mind to dine in as our flight was delayed. The manager wouldn't allow us to dine in because we ordered for take out, mind you the whole restaurant is pretty much empty. She insisted we order more food before we eat there. I had left a tip while ordering take out so I don't see that being an issue for not allowing us to dine in. Just save yourself the hassle and time and go eat elsewhere. We ordered some beers and then decided to go with the kalua pork nachos. They were pretty pricey especially once we saw what came out. They were way smaller of a portion than we expected. Some of the pork was fatty, but for the most part it tasted really good.
